Court Lodge is a peaceful place with residents encouraged to express themselves. Generally clean and tidy, the staff work hard. I find the food quite disappointing and I know my mother doesn't like it. When she first moved in it seemed much better. Rebecca does a great job and is always a bright presence.

My mother-in-law has been in respite for a several months at Court Lodge and is extremely very well looked after while still being independent . She is treated with kindness by all the staff. She can choose from the great selection of activities that she wants to get involved with. Meal times are always a great opportunity for her to chat with the other residents and enjoy the wonderful food. Knowing she is in a safe and supportive environment has been so reassuring and gives family members peace of mind.

I arrived at Court Lodge after spending 2 days in hospital for a hip replacement operation. I was met by a nurse who took me to my room, helping me to settle in. I have spent most of my time doing my exercises, enjoying the lovely food and resting on my bed as instructed by my consultant. I have been aware of the good range of activities but not been able to enjoy many of them. I am now at the end of my 2 weeks of respite and will go home to be met by my daughter & son in law.

Father has been a resident for just over a year and all staff worked hard to make him happy. He enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. The red shirts made every effort to include him in activities and walks in the garden. His lack of sight and hearing made this difficult. I cannot fault the care that he receives even now he is on end of life care. He and his room are always clean.

I can't praise the home manager and her team at the excellent Court Lodge Care Home more highly. After being resistant to the idea of residential care in favour of remaining in her own home, Court Lodge has been a brilliant step forward for my mother. It is a warm and welcoming care home in a lovely setting with bright sunny communal areas and a well cared for garden. There are a huge range of activities to cater for a range of interests both in, and outside, the home that are run by the Companionship Team with thoughtfulness and enthusiasm. The Clinical Team are excellent, they liaise regularly with the local GP's and have kept me informed and updated with any health issues that arise. I have also been involved in meetings to establish the most appropriate longer term care plans for my mother with kindness and respect. I can honestly say my experience of Court Lodge has helped me as a daughter to feel supported and enabled me to enjoy my mother's company far more.

I am so pleased that my mother is resident at Court Lodge. I moved her from another care home (not a Colten one) and the difference is amazing - Ma is happy and so am I, and it is a pleasure to visit her and see her smiling.
This is down to a variety of reasons, topmost of which has to be the superb care and attention to detail from the whole team - an amazing group of people who have always had a smile and are happy to talk and listen.

The whole ambience is so unlike other homes - it is friendly , cosy, spotlessly clean... in no way institutional. And the food is amazing! I would strongly urge anyone contemplating choosing a home fo themselves or a loved one to visit and see it for yourselves!

I feel very fortunate to be in Court Lodge and can't fault it in any way. I'm very happy here. Very good rooms. The staff are excellent. My husband was here before me and the care received was excellent, particularly when knowing the fact that most staff have been here for 20 years speaks for itself.

My Mum has been resident at Court Lodge for nearly a year. I now have peace of mind that she is safe, healthy and is being well cared for. I live very close to the home so can pop in whenever I like. What really strikes you when you walk in, is how friendly all the staff are. From walking in the front door to reaching my mums room on the 1st floor, I receive so many warm greetings. It's a very relaxed, homely atmosphere. I'm always offered a cup of tea and if I'm lucky a glass of Prosecco on occasions! From what I witness, the care is very good. The staff are polite and residents are treated with great dignity. One of the outstanding areas is having a team of staff dedicated to providing activities for the residents. My Mum chooses not to join in with much in the home, but staff try to encourage her or they take activities to her room. They even lay on weekly outings. Thank you to all staff for all you do. It's very hard work but you always do it with a smile

There are not enough words to say how thankful I am to all the staff and care that Court Lodge showed my mum and me. The dignity, respect and love was everything. My mum became my mum again and I was able to spend everyday with her and our dog too. I will forever be grateful for those 7 months and the palliative care that was given. You truly are the greatest team and thank you again for everything.

Christina.

My mother spent the last three years of her life at Court Lodge, and I am deeply grateful for the kindness and care she received there. Over time we got to know so many of the staff, and it was clear how much affection they had for her. The companionship team, carers, nurses and all the staff - including cleaners, catering, admin, management and reception - treated her with warmth, dignity and patience.

As a family, we always felt she was safe, comfortable and truly cared for. The compassion shown in her final days meant more to us than we can say. We will always be thankful for the comfort and support they provided.

From the moment you step into Court Lodge, you can feel the warmth and compassion that make this home so special. The environment is welcoming, calm, and beautifully maintained - a true reflection of the care and pride the staff take in their work.
The entire team at Court Lodge goes above and beyond to ensure every resident feels valued, comfortable, and genuinely cared for. My mother moved to Court Lodge to be nearer family and for a better quality of care. She is transformed! She enjoys the activities each day and loves the outings in the mini bus; she is starting to read again and always looks forward to her meals. The warmth, care and encouragement she receives from the staff have given her confidence to leave her room and be part of the Court Lodge community. It is a joy to see. As a visitor, I too am always greeted with warmth and friendliness, for we are all a team, ensuring my mother is safe and well cared for.

Court Lodge is well equipped, well maintained and with sensible but homely furnishings. Touches such as laying the tables for meals make residents feel they are welcome and encourage eating. The gardens are lovely and a calm space for residents to sit out at any time.

Every aspect of my care was attended to. The meals were the highest standard varied and delicious. The activities were fun and interesting and my medical needs were carried out efficiently and expertly. The care workers themselves were so happy and this spilled over onto those being cared for, nothing was too much bother and everything was done with a smile. It is impossible to emphasise how excellent this care home is.

Our mum has been a resident at Court Lodge for 5 years now and the ethos of the team has always been to create a calm, friendly, and also fun atmosphere.
Sheis currently struggling with accepting her own mental and physical deterioration. This means that she has displayed some difficult behaviour but the compassion and understanding of all the staff, particularly under the manager's leadership, is wonderful.
Both my sister and I live a long way from the home so having total confidence that all aspects of our Mum's care is exemplary is very reassuring.

Thank you

My father was a resident for just over 3 years. His care was exceptional and he was very happy at the home. At his birthday party in November, the staff had decorated one of the lounges and many came in and sang happy birthday to him. He was taken ill on 21st December and I was informed. The ambulance was called, but according to our wishes and a pre-arranged plan, he was not taken to hospital, but stayed within the familiar surroundings. My daughter and I sat with him Christmas Eve and Day and the staff were brilliant. It must be so hard for them encouraging other residents to enjoy the Christmas spirit, while being attentive, caring and so respectful to the dying and their relatives and it was obvious they too were affected by losing one of their family. He died peacefully early on Boxing Day and the nurses and carers were wonderful in how they looked after him and sympathised with us. He could not have wished for a more gentle end in the place he called home.

There is never anything but a warm welcome from the staff and a genuine care for their residents. Plenty of activities to get involved in daily, and always a buzz of happiness. This is the third care home my mother in law has resided in and by far the best. It's such a blessing to know she is spending her final years in such a warm, caring place and you never feel that anything is too much trouble. The decor, the food, the cleanliness and the staff really make it a fabulous place.
