As my late wife had been so well cared for I knew my care would be exceptional and my faith was fully justified as I enjoyed every minute of my 6 weeks care. I could not pay high enough tribute to Flowerdown and its management, staff and carers.

My Parents (both in their 90s) stayed at Flowerdown for Respite Care for the Month March 2025. My Father was transferred there after being in Hospital a month. He was very weak and really needed some time to build up his strength to walk and recover from his ordeal. My Mother arrived at Flowerdown for Respite Care two days before my Father. They both needed some "tlc" to build up their strength and they certainly got that at Flowerdown. All the Staff were very caring and interested and did their utmost to help my parents settle in, with the comfort of the Home and the good food which was offered as an added bonus. Flowerdown is tastefully furnished and offers everything you would want from Respite Care. I could not find anything to fault and enjoyed visiitng my parents and the upbeat atmosphere there from the moment you entered the building. Thank you Flowerdown Staff for all your care it has been so appreciated.

My aunt has been in Barchester Flowerdown Care Home since August 2024. She was apprehensive of going into care at first but has quickly settled there and is very happy with her new life. The staff are all friendly, polite and helpful, from the carers, nurses, housekeeping team, reception and catering staff. There are so many activities taking place daily to keep the residents occupied and my aunt enjoys taking part and making new friends. I really can't fault anything and particularly, like the relaxed, homely feel of Flowerdown with its comfortable surroundings and lovely gardens. I think the general manager has got it just right and it is evident the staff take pride in their work and look after the residents to a very high standard.

Barchester Flowerdown Care Home have always treated my aunt with tenderness and kindness. She called them her second family. The staff were always very supportive to me and my family. My mum spent the last 4 years of her life at Flowerdown. I cannot thank every member of staff enough for the kindness, love and care shown to my mum during her time there. While living at Flowerdown she deteriorated due to the increased severity of her dementia. She was always treated with dignity and care. The nurse manager leads a team of excellent nursing staff who are first-rate at dealing with residents' medical needs and keeping families informed of issues. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming. After a much-needed refurbishment, Flowerdown has been transformed. The rooms and reception areas are equal to a high-class hotel. Until the day my mum passed away, I always knew she was safe and cared for to the highest standards. I have no hesitation in recommending Flowerdown to care for loved ones.

We have recently moved my dad to Flowerdown as we needed urgent respite care with a view to making this a permanent move. I rang several other care homes that could either not accommodate respite care or could not meet his care needs. From my first contact via telephone, I was immediately put at ease when an invitation for me to visit Flowerdown seemed more important to the staff than going through a long list of care needs. I was welcomed from the very first time I walked through the door and was hugely impressed not only by the surroundings but also by how friendly everyone was. I was invited to visit again with my dad the following day and he too was welcomed by everyone. Our questions were answered, what we could expect from Flowerdown was made clear to us and we knew we need not look any further for the 'right' care home. My dad moved in 3 days later and he, as well as his family and friends, have felt welcomed as part of the Flowerdown family. Thank you to everyone for welcoming us.

I cannot begin to put into words how amazing this care home is. My mum spent the last three years of her life being cared for, respected and treated as one of the family - as I was! She passed away in October - peacefully and in no pain and all down to the care she received. It is a wonderful place.

From the moment my wife was admitted, we have been completely satisfied with her residence at Barchester Flowerdown Care Home - it is akin to a smart hotel and no aspect of my wife's care is neglected. It is such a relief to know that she is being cared for so capably. I can be away (available on the phone of course!) with complete confidence. Without exception, the staff and attendants have been so caring and professional in her care. We would be so happy if my wife's remaining days could be at Flowerdown.

Given that the entry into this Care Home is recent and the renovation is ongoing our ratings have been influenced by it.

The Care Home is being renovated which necessitated to move my mother-in-law from her initial room to a totally renovated one. The new room presents very well indeed. The move was planned for 9 am on 17/9/2023. Pre-packing assistance of personal items was available prior to this date. The move worked on time and with excellent support during the actual move to the new room. The General Manager was actively involved in leading and implementing the move and was leading by example. In general, the manager is very approachable and helpful in dealing with client's requests speedily.

The senior staff and nurses were very solicitous and helpful during my mother's stay at the home. They were understanding and responsive which was a godsend as my mother has limited English. The day-to-day staff were also magnificent, of course, some outshone others but overall very compassionate and caring. The home itself is undergoing much-needed modernisation which will increase its attractiveness to its targeted audience.

Since my father arrived at Flowerdown he has had excellent care. From the first day he arrived, everyone was friendly and welcoming and the home is clean and homely. He receives very good care and attention from the carers and is encouraged to be involved as much as he can. I have been a carer for 6 years; I started my Care journey with Flowerdown. I really enjoy my job and am very passionate about ensuring my residents are well looked after and happy. I am passionate about resident inclusion, enabling our residents to feel independent and purposeful. In my spare time, I play basketball and have been doing so for many years. My biggest passion is singing. I often sing to the residents, and they really enjoy this.

Hello, my name is Priyanka, and I am a care assistant here at Flowerdown. I have worked here for just over 2 years. I joined care as I always had a passion to care for the elderly and to ensure they have a better quality of life. I was very close to my grandparents, and I feel they would be very proud of the person I am today and the qualities and experiences I have learnt along the way.

In my spare time, I enjoy dancing and going shopping with my friends and family.
