Mum has been here since June 2017, we cannot fault the care and dignity that she has been given, housekeeping has been excellent. She is very happy here, the meals are well balanced and nutritious, we would recommend this home to anybody.

My mum has settled well, only being here since the beginning of August. We have noticed a change in her appetite and fluid intake. She is not so anxious as she has been and is no longer pacing, but is still actively walking around, which is good. She is a lot more verbal and appears very content.

Overall Experience

Knights' Grove is a modern and comfortable care home with the outstanding asset being the staff. They undertake a challenging and difficult job, but undoubtedly always put the care of the residents at the forefront of everything they do. My 95-year-old mother is always treated with dignity and respect and is very well cared for. I had my concerns, before my mother went into care, that she would be unhappy and sad at not living in her own home anymore. Six months since moving into Knights' Grove and she never mentions her house at all as she has settled in so well and is enjoying the company of others. I would recommend Knights' Grove to anyone, especially for the quality of the staff.

Home appears to be clean and well staffed and give care with patience in not always easy circumstances. I have not experienced the food personally but have heard no complaints.

Very good care with good staff and good facilities. I would like to see more 'sensory' activities for the residents with late-stage Alzheimer's.

Review from S C (Partner of Resident) published on 5 May 2017 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience
When the regular team of staff are in duty - everything runs smoothly. My partner is now in the latter stages of Lewy Body Dementia. He needs all care and the staff are very caring. Nothing is too much trouble.

If the trained staff are concerned at all, they always contact me and if there has been a doctor's visit, I am always updated. I do notice, however, when agency staff are used, the standard of care falls. I do realise that this is not what the home wants and they are prioritising in recruiting. Continuity of staff of very important when dealing with dementia residents.

My wife has now been in Knights Grove Care Home for about 5months, during that time I have visited most days.

I claim no expertise in assessing care homes, but so far as I can tell, the standard of care provided is high and I am satisfied that my wife is being looked after well.

Review from Helen C (Daughter of Resident) published on 5 February 2016 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mother has been in the home for six years and during that time we have seen almost as many managers come and go. There is no doubt that the standard in a home depends on the quality of the manager. The current manager is good as was the previous one but that wasn't always the case, especially when there was no manager a few years ago and then a deputy stepped into the breach - the standards plummeted. Happily the home is now greatly improved and my mother is very happy here. I too value the home and the staff who are kind and caring. They have taken the trouble to get to know their residents and try to make the place feel homely, inviting and relaxing for them. There is always room for improvement and I am glad that our new manager has ideas and vision for the place which hopefully will be implemented before too long.

My mothers needs are fully understood. I am happy she is living in a safe and clean environment. The staff are very friendly and caring towards her. Although she often does not want to eat or drink, the staff spend a lot of time encouraging her to do so with positive results.
