Oak Lodge Nursing Home is excellent. The staff are very professional and very caring. They treat all the residents with respect and the cleanliness is outstanding. I would definitely recommend this nursing home. I've seen a few homes and Oak Lodge Nursing Home far outshines the rest.

Made most welcome on my arrival, even though I was suffering from an illness and being unpleasant to all the staff - so they tell me! I have been encouraged to make this my home and we are succeeding. My surroundings are so lovely and I have even been allowed to bring a very favourite statue from my own garden and furniture for my room. I can't thank the staff enough for their help and kindness if only everyone could be as lucky.

I visit my mother regularly and it doesn't matter what time of day I visit, I am always greeted by the staff warmly and everyone is always smiling. All the residents always look smart, obviously there is attention to detail on how the residents present themselves with dress and hair (for the ladies) is very important. Everyone always looks amazing.

The house is spotless and staff are always busy entertaining and residents join in with activities where appropriate. I am very happy with my mother's care, the staff are amazing.

Although my father has only been a resident at Oak Lodge for a short period of time, my wife and I are already very impressed with the quality of the care.

To give one example, when you learn that the manager of Oak Lodge visits each and every guest every morning that she is working I have to say that I was a little sceptical. However, when you witness that this is true on several occasions you realise that the team at Oak Lodge are caring for their guests in a way which we did not anticipate.

So we would have no hesitation in recommending Oak Lodge to anyone who is thinking of this care home as a suitable facility for their relative.

My mother was in the nursing home for 26 months. I liked the look of the home from the first moment I saw it for her. It is light, spacious, clean and warm and the staff are attentive, knowledgeable and approachable. My mother was happy there, not a great joiner of things but never excluded and always encouraged. She loved best to chat one to one and time was given to her. The end of life care was professional, caring and considerate. She was allowed to slip away with dignity.

Mum has only been a resident at Oak Lodge for eight weeks but has already settled far quicker than we thought she would. She has never been a social person, but the staff are working very hard with her to encourage interactivity with others. All our requests have to date been accommodated very quickly and with enthusiasm. The location is beautiful with lovely grounds and gardens. Mum is also enjoying the food.

A wonderful nursing home, excellent care and cleanliness. nothing is too much trouble. The carers and all the staff are superb. There are always activities going on, which the residents can partake in if they wish. They even take them on the odd day out, if suitable for them.

Once again I cannot praise them all enough for the care they give to my mum. She was in another home before, after 3 weeks we couldn't get her out quick enough. We have no worries now, as we know she is being looked after so well.

I've always found the staff very friendly and caring. I phone most days and it's never too much trouble to answer then phone and divert the call to my relatives room. There is always plenty of care in personal activities carried out. Plenty of food and drink when needed. Activities carried and topical to keep every day a different experience. She seems very content and happy there to meet the staff and other residents in both the bedroom and downstairs in the day room and lovely gardens and summer lodge.

Gran always seems content and never complains. She's recently started re-visiting, reading novels and seems to be very alert mentally. Her personal care is very good and she is always in clean clothes looking smart. It's always a pleasure to visit the home as the staff are very friendly and helpful. Sometimes because of work commitments, I visit early. It's never too early for the staff to welcome me and let me up to her room.

I have always felt that if the staff in a home are happy and cheerful then the residents will be as well. This is certainly true of Oak Lodge as we have always been nade to feel welcome and we can see that my Mother-in-Law is well looked after. The activities for the residents are very imaginative with summer parties, fetes, trips out as well as visits by entertainers. An excellent home.

Mum has been here for over a year. We have always been very happy with the care and all the support she receives. The home is immaculately clean, staff are always friendly and helpful. Mum takes part in lots of different activities and is rarely in her room when I visit - which is lovely :) She enjoys the food very much and seems to get on very well with all the staff. As a family, we couldn't wish for any better care.

An extremely pleasant nursing home;
1) Very clean public areas and father's room
2) Well tended grounds
3) Welcoming reception area
4) Very polite, happy caring staff from management to support staff
5) Staff always happy to help
6) Immediate response to emails

7) Attention paid to father' s appearance, cleanliness and well being. My father has thrived in the environment and mention how nice it is that all staff know him by his first name. He feels he has been looked after well.

My grandmother moved into Oak Lodge in March 2015 after being moved down from Leicestershire where she has lived for 97 years on her own :) The care and empathy that she and we as a family have received from all the staff from cleaning staff right through to management has been amazing. Far beyond our expectations. I thank our lucky stars everyday that gran was able to make Oak Lodge her home. Gran has adapted to life at Oak Lodge very well with the help and kindness of the staff. I/we can't thank everyone enough for all the care she has received at the age of nearly 99. She has a new and different life and we look forward to a big celebration for her 100th here at Oak Lodge.
