Sunrise has worked incredibly hard to keep the residents safe, and Mum has been very well and happy. Anything needed to discuss have been dealt with promptly by the manager. We're very glad Mum has been safe and been so well looked after this year.

The living space and staff are lovely. Food is delicious. Pre-Covid, they were able to go out and enjoy visiting places and have entertainers in, which was lovely. So pleased we can now visit inside, but behind a glass panel, keeping everyone safe.

Mum has been a Sunrise of Bassett resident for two years. Even though Mum is a dementia sufferer and not normally forthcoming in sharing her feelings, she does regularly comment that she is being well looked after by the lovely staff, in a nice place. I can only but agree.
Residents appear at ease
and engaged in their surroundings. For those who want it, there is a good range of activities.
Two years on, I am pleased we chose Sunrise.

We did a lot of research before deciding Sunrise of Bassett was to be Mum's new home. She has been a resident in assisted living now for 2 years and is very happy and well cared for.
Staff are all so kind and caring and respect her individual preferences and needs.
The rooms are bright, spacious
and newly decorated, some opening onto the garden area which is delightful. Nursing care is excellent with good communication to the family. The food is well cooked, beautifully presented and varied. Residents have daily afternoon tea served.
Many meaningful activities are organised which provide companionship and enjoyment for Mum. It provides a real community spirit which is a comfort knowing she can choose to relax or participate.
The team under a new manager have kept all the residents safe from Covid with very strict hygiene measures. The care home is immaculate.
We would definitely recommend.

Sunrise is a first-class care home that goes above and beyond to make the residents feel safe and at home. The management and staff are excellent and the care provided cannot be faulted. My mother needed somewhere to recuperate following a fall which caused her to fracture her pelvis. I was able to visit Sunrise to see their facilities, in a Covid19 safe way, and was very impressed by the excellent facilities. The staff at Sunrise were extremely approachable, helpful and facilitated
the move from the NHS rehab facility without fuss. My mother settled in well, and I was relieved to know she was safe, being well-fed and was able to socialise with other residents and get involved with the activities as her mobility improved. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble, and the staff were charming and efficient.
I was able to accompany my mother to her consultant review at the hospital, and Sunrise organised a suitable taxi for us to travel there. Their policy of regular Covid testing of staff and residents helped to keep everyone safe.
I would like to thank everyone who made this possible!

My mother has been in Sunrise of Bassett for 5 months, arriving just before the lockdown started. We chose it because we knew that she could no longer live independently and would need nursing care. We are very happy with the level of care, cleanliness and positive atmosphere. I would strongly recommend
the whole staff - the activities, the reception, the housekeeping, the catering, and the care staff, as they all give excellent service.

I have been here for three years now. I came because I knew I wanted more care than I have been having before. I am very pleased with the arrangement here with care, cleanliness and I would strongly recommend the housekeeping, catering, care staff as they all give excellent service.

I couldn't wish for a better place. The team here have celebrated my birthday in an amazing way considering the circumstances of the pandemic and lockdown and my daughter unable to visit, they accommodated spectacularly, providing me access to video calls.
The team is so wonderful and helpful.

Before coming here I visited many care homes with my son and Sunrise of Bassett was the best, despite ups and downs I am happy here. During my first year here I took over the running of the resident's shop which I enjoyed very much. I also enjoyed indoor gardening and flower arranging activities. The
first time I went to a musical bingo I won a prize! I also liked painting and musical entertainment. The residents are encouraged to mix with others and be friendly.

Soon after I moved here, nearly three and a half years ago, I was asked to be the resident ambassador. The role included helping new residents to settle in and guide them to meet other residents and to explain activities they might enjoy. I have introduced new projects to the home which are well supported
and I love doing them.
I moved to be near my son, and it has been a good move. Although I am independent, it is reassuring to know that there are nurses and carers here 24-hours a day. I am always treated with respect from every member of staff.
I have some allergies and intolerances with my diet, and these are catered for very successfully.
I have learnt to do many crafts and artistic skills that I didn't know I had; they give me great pleasure.
I enjoy the company of many people that live here; we share our memories and have a good giggle.

The staff are very helpful. They pay attention to you and notice how you are feeling about actually staying and particularly I noticed this morning because I was not well this morning. I have a cat (which was readily accepted), I let her out directly into the garden but I fell when shutting the door
but immediately and the next day it was noticed and I was asked if I was ok etc.

I have worked in the care sector for 20 years, 17 as a Registered Manager, going on to become Regional Manager for Southern Services for a further two years with the same Company.


To further my knowledge in care I then took a role as Operations Manager for a domiciliary care company which I very much enjoyed although I realised over a period of time that the interaction with families and residents was something I missed hugely so decided to go with my heart and back into a care home environment.


I am very focused on providing the highest standard of care here at Southampton Manor, an environment where the resident is at the centre of all we do and building on a sense of community for those who live, work and visit the home.

I have been here since September 2011, starting off as a care manager, I have always been involved in supporting our residents with their daily activities. I really enjoy coming to work each day knowing that I am able to make a difference to our residents lives nurturing their mind, body and spirit. I have always felt passionate to encourage equality within our community by finding the residents activities suited for their individual needs by adapting activities, giving them the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and talents.

My journey as Dinging Service Coordinator here started in July 2019. I am very privileged to have joined a professional team of Chefs, Dining Staff, Catering staff, and the whole of the Bassett team, who have helped me to settle into my role.


In My 36 years as a Chef and Catering Manager I have never worked in the care sector. I am enjoying learning new skills every day. I have however worked in many different areas of the hospitality industry. Won awards, cooked and served for Royalty. I spent 12 years in Spain as Head Chef for a very busy Fish and Steak Restaurant, so with that in mind I hope to share my knowledge and experience to enhance what is already and exceptionally first class service. By providing an exclusive, comfortable environment for residents to enjoy high quality, fresh, flavoursome, nutritionally balanced food. I look forward to the challenge, and achieving all my goals here.

I joined the Signature at Bassett team in October 2019 as a Support Worker and quickly progressed within the home to a Covid Coordinator role and then successfully secured the role of Maintenance Coordinator. I have since become the Client Liaison Manager for Southampton Manor. Prior to working with the adult care sector, I worked for local Government & Housing Associations in a variety of roles within the Housing and Homelessness sector.
