Sunrise is an exceptionally well run and caring facility. The standard of care, services and food are very good. Rooms are spacious and maintained to a high standard. All of the staff are very professional and show a high level of care and willingness to support each of the residents.
There are plenty
of in-house activities to suit everybody including daily minibus tours etc.
Would highly recommend!
Only negative is the Wi-Fi service which is dreadfully slow! Has been reported repeatedly but not yet resolved.

I have been here for respite. I have been so well looked after. All of the staff are excellent. Food is first class. I enjoyed being on The Terrace floor because I had a door to the garden. It was just like having my own home and private bit of garden. I enjoyed the exercise classes and meeting new
people. I have made good friends with the people on my table in the dining room. I am sorry to leave. I will miss all of the people here. I am in better health than when I came in. I'm walking properly now.

I like being here, it's good. I've well looked after. The exercise activities; yoga, pilates and general exercise are excellent. I wouldn't change any of them. I'm getting very good value for money. The food is lovely. I definitely enjoy going out for trips in the minibus. The nurses and carers are
all kind people. They are very helpful when I'm not feeling well. There is a very high standard of cleanliness in the rooms and community areas. I have lots of fun. I enjoy the amusements.

My mother is generally well settled and content at Sunrise.
In spite of her mental and physical state, she still appreciates the well kept and attractive ambience of the home, especially the table settings and flower arrangements.
We are impressed that my mother receives loving care and attention
and is very much known as an individual.
Her outfits are carefully chosen and coordinated.
This is still important to her and to us.
We feel the level of communication from the home with us is very good.

My mum has not been here long, after being moved from a local care home. We moved to this care home because of the activities on offer several times a day, particularly the exercise class, which is not offered at other homes. I like the lounge area as I travel from Reading and it is nice to have somewhere
to sit with Mum. However, every table in the lounge area had leftover food and cups and drinks on them. They remained there for the entire 4-hour visit. It looked dirty for this reason alone. I also think that for £1400 per week we should not have to provide our own furniture unless we want to. I liked that staff came to find Mum to ensure she took medication and also the encouragement for patients to eat.

Everyone is warm, welcoming and friendly. Dad is very well fed and cared for. I would be helpful for Dad to have more stability aids in the bathroom.


The activities on offer are enjoyable and not too demanding mentally. It is great to see friendships and interaction among the residents being encouraged.

My relatives stayed here for 5 1/2 months and enjoyed their time at Sunrise. The staff are all very approachable and caring. The ladies on reception deserve a special mention. They go above and beyond with their welcome and helpfulness and lovely smiles! Entertainment is good, though very repetative
(I understand why) but maybe things could be livened up a bit? Accounts made several errors which needed correcting but overall an excellent care home.

On first impressions, the home was warm, welcoming and had a friendly atmosphere. All the staff have been fantastic. The cleaner, carers, maintenance, managers - everybody has made my uncles move easy and stress-free.

My parents moved into Sunrise in 2013, unfortunately, my mother passed away 3 months later. My father subsequently moved into a smaller apartment which is very comfortable and opens out onto beautiful gardens. The service and care is very good and we've only had a couple of minor hiccups with urine
bottles not being emptied every day/morning unless chased.
The site and facilities are really good and the food and drink excellent. Sunrise welcomes visitors and pets, most staff are very welcoming.

Job Title: General Manager

I have worked in the care sector for 20 years, 17 as a Registered Manager, going on to become Regional Manager for Southern Services for a further two years with the same Company.


To further my knowledge in care I then took a role as Operations Manager for a domiciliary care company which I very much enjoyed although I realised over a period of time that the interaction with families and residents was something I missed hugely so decided to go with my heart and back into a care home environment.


I am very focused on providing the highest standard of care here at Southampton Manor, an environment where the resident is at the centre of all we do and building on a sense of community for those who live, work and visit the home.

Job Title: Activities and Volunteer Coordinator

I have been here since September 2011, starting off as a care manager, I have always been involved in supporting our residents with their daily activities. I really enjoy coming to work each day knowing that I am able to make a difference to our residents lives nurturing their mind, body and spirit. I have always felt passionate to encourage equality within our community by finding the residents activities suited for their individual needs by adapting activities, giving them the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and talents.


We arrange various special events, entertainment and trips out of the community each week. We also encourage and support our residents to plan and organise their own activities whether it be hobbies or interests we will ensure a successful experience.

Job Title: Dining Services Coordinator

My journey as Dinging Service Coordinator here started in July 2019. I am very privileged to have joined a professional team of Chefs, Dining Staff, Catering staff, and the whole of the Bassett team, who have helped me to settle into my role.


In My 36 years as a Chef and Catering Manager I have never worked in the care sector. I am enjoying learning new skills every day. I have however worked in many different areas of the hospitality industry. Won awards, cooked and served for Royalty. I spent 12 years in Spain as Head Chef for a very busy Fish and Steak Restaurant, so with that in mind I hope to share my knowledge and experience to enhance what is already and exceptionally first class service. By providing an exclusive, comfortable environment for residents to enjoy high quality, fresh, flavoursome, nutritionally balanced food. I look forward to the challenge, and achieving all my goals here.

Job Title: Client Liaison Manager

I joined the Signature at Bassett team in October 2019 as a Support Worker and quickly progressed within the home to a Covid Coordinator role and then successfully secured the role of Maintenance Coordinator. I have since become the Client Liaison Manager for Southampton Manor. Prior to working with the adult care sector, I worked for local Government & Housing Associations in a variety of roles within the Housing and Homelessness sector.
