Before coming here I visited many care homes with my son and Sunrise of Bassett was the best, despite ups and downs I am happy here. During my first year here I took over the running of the resident's shop which I enjoyed very much. I also enjoyed indoor gardening and flower arranging activities. The first time I went to a musical bingo I won a prize! I also liked painting and musical entertainment. The residents are encouraged to mix with others and be friendly.
Our team here at Sunrise of Bassett are so grateful for your comments. Our activities co-ordinator and the team work hard to provide engaging and stimulating activities for all of our residents, we are so glad to hear the activities provided are one of your favourite elements of our home.
I moved to be near my son, and it has been a good move. Although I am independent, it is reassuring to know that there are nurses and carers here 24-hours a day. I am always treated with respect from every member of staff.
I have some allergies and intolerances with my diet, and these are catered for very successfully.
I have learnt to do many crafts and artistic skills that I didn't know I had; they give me great pleasure.
I enjoy the company of many people that live here; we share our memories and have a good giggle.
Here at Sunrise of Bassett we endeavour to provide the very best experience for our residents and their families. Thank you for taking the time to share your kind words with us, these will be shared with the team.
Before I joined Sunrise I visited many homes and was not sure on which to settle. I am pleased I chose Sunrise around 3 years ago and I couldn't be happier.
We are thrilled with your positive experience and are so glad you have settled in so well to Sunrise of Bassett. We take great pride in delivering high-quality care and providing facilities to our residents. Your recognition of this is invaluable to our team, thank you.
The staff are very helpful. They pay attention to you and notice how you are feeling about actually staying and particularly I noticed this morning because I was not well this morning. I have a cat (which was readily accepted), I let her out directly into the garden but I fell when shutting the door but immediately and the next day it was noticed and I was asked if I was ok etc.
We believe our carers at Sunrise of Bassett go the extra mile and for you to recognise this is invaluable to our team. We endeavour to provide the very best care for our residents, thank you for your kind words.
Thank you Sunrise.

We moved my aunt into Sunrise when she needed more care, and we have been delighted at the service provided by the staff, carers and the excellent environment and facilities at the home. She seems settled here, and while we haven’t been able to visit during the last few months, the staff have been exceptionally helpful in setting up video calls so we can keep in touch. The activities are great to keep residents stimulated. We are very happy that our aunt is being treated with such respect and dignity; we thank all the staff at Sunrise for their hard work.

I moved in a little while ago. I love staying at Sunrise, I think it is the best decision I made. I get to still go out and spend time with my friends and come back to a safe home. I really recommend it.

Grandma was well looked after during her short time at Sunrise. She had a terminal illness. Her main worry was about being in pain. Sunrise managed her pain relief and she didn't suffer when she passed. Grandma always commented on how good the food was! We were always made to feel welcome when visiting.

I found the care home to give excellent care. Food plentiful and appetizing. Surroundings pleasant and excellently kept spaces and well looked after. Plenty of sitting areas and much greenery around. No feeling of being exposed at all. Very kind and friendly staff, always helpful.

The tenants here are sometimes in need of medical attention, this is very convenient. Apart from attention all other qualities that the staff can apply most things are fine.

Only negative is the Wi-Fi service which is dreadfully slow! Has been reported repeatedly but not yet resolved.

Meet the Team (4)

I have worked in the care sector for 20 years, 17 as a Registered Manager, going on to become Regional Manager for Southern Services for a further two years with the same Company.
To further my knowledge in care I then took a role as Operations Manager for a domiciliary care company which I very much enjoyed although I realised over a period of time that the interaction with families and residents was something I missed hugely so decided to go with my heart and back into a care home environment.
I am very focused on providing the highest standard of care here at Southampton Manor, an environment where the resident is at the centre of all we do and building on a sense of community for those who live, work and visit the home.

I have been here since September 2011, starting off as a care manager, I have always been involved in supporting our residents with their daily activities. I really enjoy coming to work each day knowing that I am able to make a difference to our residents lives nurturing their mind, body and spirit. I have always felt passionate to encourage equality within our community by finding the residents activities suited for their individual needs by adapting activities, giving them the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and talents.
We arrange various special events, entertainment and trips out of the community each week. We also encourage and support our residents to plan and organise their own activities whether it be hobbies or interests we will ensure a successful experience.

My journey as Dinging Service Coordinator here started in July 2019. I am very privileged to have joined a professional team of Chefs, Dining Staff, Catering staff, and the whole of the Bassett team, who have helped me to settle into my role.
In My 36 years as a Chef and Catering Manager I have never worked in the care sector. I am enjoying learning new skills every day. I have however worked in many different areas of the hospitality industry. Won awards, cooked and served for Royalty. I spent 12 years in Spain as Head Chef for a very busy Fish and Steak Restaurant, so with that in mind I hope to share my knowledge and experience to enhance what is already and exceptionally first class service. By providing an exclusive, comfortable environment for residents to enjoy high quality, fresh, flavoursome, nutritionally balanced food. I look forward to the challenge, and achieving all my goals here.

I joined the Signature at Bassett team in October 2019 as a Support Worker and quickly progressed within the home to a Covid Coordinator role and then successfully secured the role of Maintenance Coordinator. I have since become the Client Liaison Manager for Southampton Manor. Prior to working with the adult care sector, I worked for local Government & Housing Associations in a variety of roles within the Housing and Homelessness sector.
