Welcome to Forest Care Village Care Centre in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire. The modern facility offers 24-hour nursing care for adults with life-long physical conditions, particularly those with Acquired Brain Injuries and neurological conditions and24 hour nursing care for those aged 65 and over.

The home is blessed with a dedicated team of nursing and support staff that provide high-quality, person-centred care within a homely environment. They work in partnership with visiting therapists to offer short and long-term placements, palliative, respite and post-operative care.

The purpose-built facility comprises 178 bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities; a large physiotherapy suite; music and sensory facilities and courtyard sensory gardens. They encourage residents to furnish their new surroundings with familiar pieces of furniture and personal possessions to make them feel truly at home.

While the home's bedrooms provide a tranquil area to rest and relax, the modern communal lounges offer residents the opportunity to catch up with friends over a pot of tea, enjoy one of the guest entertainers or simply recline in front of their favourite film.

At Forest Care Village, they encourage residents to take part in a range of engaging activities based on their lifestyle needs and preferences. Many of their activities take place within the home environment and include art workshops, handicrafts, garden parties, and barbecues. They empower individuals to enjoy those everyday routines they cherish, whether that’s having a salon blow-dry and manicure or keeping up to date with their favourite football team. I've been in Forest Care Village for a month now for rehab having spent a fortnight in hospital following an accident. I have found that the overall care, cleanliness, food and kindness have all been excellent. The only comment I would make is that at times I have waited quite a while (in excess of
forty minutes) for a carer to respond to me pressing my call button. This is not a regular occurrence but I wonder if it indicates that on some shifts there are insufficient carers on duty. But I do have to repeat that management, nurses, carers and housekeepers have all been great during my stay - thank you!

We received a very warm and professional welcome. There is a great warmth from every member of staff. Our every need was met with kindness. My brother felt like he was in his own home. The staff and manager are truly amazing.

I enjoy staying here it is easy going, the staff are friendly and courteous. I like the trips out and the entertainment is excellent. Everyone including fellow residents makes you feel welcome and they all are a friendly bunch. Would recommend staying here to everyone.

My mother received excellent care and support in the short time she was at Forest Care Village. The staff were always very attentive and treated mum in a kind and supportive way. Forest Care Village has been very helpful in mum's last weeks allowing the family to visit outside of normal visiting times
and allowing us a high degree of flexibility. Staff and management are very approachable dealing with requests as needed. On numerous occasions, mum told us that she was happy and well looked after.

I find Forest Care Village such a wonderful place to live. Everybody is so nice especially the lifestyle team, the activities they do are fun. The residents are wonderful, I have known them for a long time and consider them my friends.

My husband was sent here on a DTA bed from a hospital stay following Covid. He has advanced dementia and moto neurone disease. The staff here have treated him very kindly; he always looked clean and says he is happy. I call several times a day on video, as does his son, and we are very happy with the
premises and the staff. He is eating well and has gained some weight back since his admission.

The management, care staff and nurses are very dedicated and work hard to provide a high standard of care for the residents. The extreme conditions resulting from the Coronavirus pandemic has put huge extra burdens on the staff. I think this has been very well handled. Residents are treated with dignity
and respect by staff who aim to keep them safe. There is a warm and cheerful atmosphere in the home. I am kept well informed. I was told that my wife had received the vaccine at the home. Request for items of clothing, hair or dental products needed is always made to me in a polite manner.
