I've now been living here for almost ten years. I feel included in the home; it feels like we're all a big family. I'm happy with the care I receive, and I love the variety of activities, entertainment and trips out which take place.

I have been here for six weeks now, and I find the staff very helpful and caring, always polite and friendly. Goo team ethic, and if they notice something wrong or not working, they deal with it even if it is not their area.

I feel very included here.

My brother has been staying at Forest Care Village for the last 6 months. He has multiple amputations and arrived at Forrest Care unwell both physically and mentally after a long hospital stay. We were nervous about care homes as he has never been in one and he is only 40 years old!

But we have been so pleasantly surprised and all our fears were put to rest.

The staff are so caring and go out of their way to help him in every way possible- with self-care, medical care, getting him into a routine etc. He has a large room which is spacious and clean and he is so comfortable there. The head nurse has been especially impressive and has helped my brother so much- she genuinely cares for him and knows how to communicate with him.

Would highly recommend the home.

The nurses, carers and therapists are really nice and caring but the management is not brilliant because they keep getting rid of staff to save money. Also, the equipment is not very good in the Gymn. If you are looking for intensive therapy for your relative this is not the place. Many residents have nearly walked out because they have nobody at the reception after 6pm. Also if you have an emergency on a weekend or after 6 on weekdays nobody answers. This place is driven by profits.

My mother was placed here after a fall for recovery. At first, she was treated very kindly, but towards the end of her stay she became more of a 'nuisance'. I came to visit several times mid-morning to find her still in her nightwear and not having had a shower, waiting for some help. When she said she was tired at the end of the afternoon instead of being encouraged to have a little snooze in her chair, she was put to bed at 6pm, which resulted in her waking up in the middle of the night. This was very disorientating for her. Although we brought in enough clothes for at least 10 days she rarely had clean clothes in her wardrobe/chest of drawers. I felt that she was not treated with much dignity overall, although a few of her carers were outstanding.

At first, extremely reluctant to enter Forest Care Village but on arrival was greeted with great warmth. Rooms were pleasant and many safety precautions were obvious. Only quibble - no access to lighting from bed - very annoying when wanting the toilet. Food is very good but I dislike unsalted food and found it hard to get hold of salt sachets. The care was faultless with carers on hand 24/7 to attend to my needs, big or small. The cleanliness is faultless and the friendliness never falters.

I have been here a long time, and I am very happy. I don't feel lonely because there are things to do most days - making things - singers coming in. Even bingo is quite fun! Sometimes we go on trips. Even with Covid things, have been going on. We have physio sometimes.

Overall I have been impressed by the level of care and concern from the management down to the carers and cleaners. I have received physio input every working day and over six weeks have progressed from a useless lump who had to have everything done for her to an almost independent being. I have been very comfortable (maybe a little warm at times) and have enjoyed joining in the various activities if only to help those less able. The quality, variety, and presentation of the food have been exemplary and give us all something to look forward to every day.

I've been in Forest Care Village for a month now for rehab having spent a fortnight in hospital following an accident. I have found that the overall care, cleanliness, food and kindness have all been excellent. The only comment I would make is that at times I have waited quite a while (in excess of forty minutes) for a carer to respond to me pressing my call button. This is not a regular occurrence but I wonder if it indicates that on some shifts there are insufficient carers on duty. But I do have to repeat that management, nurses, carers and housekeepers have all been great during my stay - thank you!
