Hill House Care Home

My husband is a resident at Hill House and tells me how wonderful he enjoys his meals there. He says it’s more like a restaurant than a care home and the lovely chef comes to see him regularly. Top chef well done for looking after him so well. I don’t know how you feed so many people with all their different needs.

My mum has been a resident at Hill House for almost 13 years. The care provided, the choice of activities available I cannot fault. Until mum passed away this month, the love, care and attention received were second to none. Mum did things here and went on visits to so many different places, mum was living life again to its fullest. Thank you to everyone at Hill House for all you did for mum over the years.

We enjoy the activities when it is possible for him to join in. Seeing the tots from the nursery and listening to the choir gave us all a boost yesterday. Keep up the good work and thank you all.

My mother-in-law was a resident at Hill House for 13 years. She was happy here, enjoyed the various activities on offer and was cared for by the staff very well. She sadly passed away in July but we have been comforted by the many happy memories shared with the staff and manager.

The care I have received whilst I have been here for my short stay has been very good. All the staff and general facilities are excellent.

I would like to come any time again.

I cannot praise the whole Bupa operation any higher.

I visited my friend who is a resident at Hill House and was overwhelmed of how nice the food is and how polite and welcoming the chef manager is, when he bought me a lovely tray of tea which was presented to an excellent standard. He was so helpful asking how the lunch was and if there’s anything else he can do for us. My friend as well as other people there saying how excellent the food service is and tasty the food is. Well done Hill House.

From the start to finish, everything has been above our expectations. Warm welcome. Everything explained. No request seems too much. Attention to detail and a feeling of always taking on board our dad's needs, interests or just individual preferences. At a time when both he and we needed some help, it was provided in abundance and we will always be grateful for the support and care provided. It gave him and us friendship when it was needed most. Thank you.

Wonderful caring nurses and staff. Food was consistently good too. Made my Dad feel very cared for and welcomed. Facilities were always clean and well managed. We are so grateful.

I was made very welcome when I arrived but before when I was assessed I was treated very kindly and with good respect. All the nurses and carers are great, very kind and nothing is too much trouble - they work very hard to make sure you are given the best help possible. The food is delicious and plenty on the plate. I liked the activities instead of staying in the room (fun time exercising and singing etc). All the staff (people) very friendly and my stay was as good as possible).

I was invited as I'm a pensioner living alone. Very friendly and comfortable room. Excellent three-course meal and good company of all ages. I was invited by local advertising for people to share Christmas.

My friend has improved so much during her time here. She praises the staff, loves her bright room and enjoys going in the dining room with others. She says the food is lovely and "I will eat all this." Thank you.

As a family, we have never been in this situation. More care was needed.

I am completing this form as a visitor to the care home. The staff and management team have all been very welcoming and accommodating. My mother was very happy there.

Attractive environment (converted 18th Century house) beautifully clean, staff friendly, attentive, caring and qualified nurse available. Regular "rounds" by local GP. Food not bad at all and excellent alternatives offered if you don't want the main offering. Seems excellently fitted out for fire safety. Interesting activities offered (especially aimed at long-term residents). Overall, if one needs the facilities of a care home, this one would be a first class choice.
