Hill House provides nursing, residential and short stay care, as well as residential rehabilitation for the young and old. Hill House is a spacious, elegant eighteenth-century building converted to provide residential and nursing care, for long and short term needs. As well as supporting elderly residents, staff welcome those who are 18 and over and living with a physical disability or neurological condition, such as multiple sclerosis, in need of residential care.

Residents can expect a high standard of care in the midst of a friendly community. With each of their cosy bedrooms, residents can enjoy the convenience of an en suite, and there are lovely views across the gardens and surrounding countryside.

There are lots of places to relax, including the choice of six lounges. Residents can cosy up with a book in the library, use the computer room, or enjoy being pampered in the salon.

The large gardens are especially tranquil because they back onto a small area of woodlands. Within the walled space, residents can stroll along the paths, rest under the pergola, or catch-up with loved ones on the patio.

They want residents to settle in quickly and be happy here. That’s why they help them to hold onto as much independence as possible.

There’s also good food, lots to do, and a warm welcome for friends and family whenever they visit.

The team of activity coordinators plan all sorts of interesting things to do, including those who are less mobile. All activities are tailored to each person's likes and abilities too.

The chef prepares a range of delicious foods, including some family favourites and kosher meals.

I was made very welcome when I arrived but before when I was assessed I was treated very kindly and with good respect. All the nurses and carers are great, very kind and nothing is too much trouble - they work very hard to make sure you are given the best help possible. The food is delicious and plenty
on the plate. I liked the activities instead of staying in the room (fun time exercising and singing etc). All the staff (people) very friendly and my stay was as good as possible).

The assessor came over in a taxi to Hemel - Why? He has a car!
No call letting us know Mum's breathing had changed as we could have driven over and been with her.
Management (I think room coordinator) didn't show us any care. Her words were 'She can't stay here'.
Discharged Dad, as we wanted to take
him home with us. Not given all his personal medical stuff, we had to go over twice to collect.
As a family, we have never been in this situation. More care was needed.

Attractive environment (converted 18th Century house) beautifully clean, staff friendly, attentive, caring and qualified nurse available. Regular "rounds" by local GP. Food not bad at all and excellent alternatives offered if you don't want the main offering. Seems excellently fitted out for fire safety.
Interesting activities offered (especially aimed at long-term residents). Overall, if one needs the facilities of a care home, this one would be a first class choice.

The carers seem very kind and proactive in sorting out activities for the residents. A lovely lady singer comes to entertain. They do arts and crafts with them. I am only a friend who visits so I cannot comment on every aspect of care.

The staff have been great in caring for her.
The management has been wonderful in supporting me, especially as I live in Canada.

Although my mother only had a short stay at Hill House, all the staff were wonderful. She was treated with the utmost respect, compassion and dignity by everyone. She, and the family, felt that she was exceptionally well cared for. The staff responded to her needs in a very caring and timely manner,
often responding to her buzzer within 30 seconds. The whole family were made very welcome and the staff at Hill House made her final week relaxed and content with very professional care. Thank you.
