Attractive environment (converted 18th Century house) beautifully clean, staff friendly, attentive, caring and qualified nurse available. Regular "rounds" by local GP. Food not bad at all and excellent alternatives offered if you don't want the main offering. Seems excellently fitted out for fire safety. Interesting activities offered (especially aimed at long-term residents). Overall, if one needs the facilities of a care home, this one would be a first class choice.

The carers seem very kind and proactive in sorting out activities for the residents. A lovely lady singer comes to entertain. They do arts and crafts with them. I am only a friend who visits so I cannot comment on every aspect of care.

Although my mother only had a short stay at Hill House, all the staff were wonderful. She was treated with the utmost respect, compassion and dignity by everyone. She, and the family, felt that she was exceptionally well cared for. The staff responded to her needs in a very caring and timely manner, often responding to her buzzer within 30 seconds. The whole family were made very welcome and the staff at Hill House made her final week relaxed and content with very professional care. Thank you.

Staff excellent. Bathroom could be a bit more modern and in a better state of repair. Some disorganisation goes on. People think other people are doing things and they are not, but nothing terribly bad.

My brother lived there for over 5 years until his death. He loved his big room and enjoyed the friendship and great care of all the staff, including the housekeepers. He looked forward to his meal which was always hot and nicely served up. The manager came to each resident every day he was in, making sure my brother had all he needed and the room was up to his high standards. My brother said he wished the carers had more time to chat, but they were always so busy. He said he would have liked to be introduced to new male residents, in case they had similar interests, but he only met people in group activities and rarely knew their names. His last years were some of the most secure he had experienced.
Thank you for your review of our care home, we are pleased to hear that your brother has had a positive experience during his stay. We appreciate all your comments on both the home and staff and will share these with the care home's manager. The Bupa Customer Care Team.
The staff always had time for him, the carers treated him with dignity. He did miss being in his own home but soon came to think of Hill House as home.
Thank you for making him so comfortable.

From the moment I arrived and very shortly after my aunt arrived the welcome and service provided especially by the nurse was superb. My aunt only survived 6 days in the care home but she was looked after very well and passed away peacefully. The phone calls from the nurse and aftercare service with me were great and really helped me at a sad time.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear that you have had a positive experience with our care home and appreciate your comments of our staff. We are glad that you were looked after during this sad time, our condolences, The Bupa Customer Care Team.
