My brother's stay at this home was the result of an emergency admission to the hospital. He was discharged after recovery for a period of respite. He was made welcome, despite a resistance to residential care with, as he saw it, a loss of independent living! He has been looked after very well, the staff taking a real interest in him and promoting a sense of independence whilst at the same time, ensuring he is clean, well-fed, hydrated, and properly supported in taking his medication. The home staff and the manager, in particular, have kept the family informed of progress, reflecting, that in other circumstances he would like to stay at the home. It is pleasantly situated with easy country walking close to hand. The socialising (e.g. at meal times), has been encouraging my brother to better manage his drift from isolation, as well as supporting his independence. He can engage or disengage to the degree he is comfortable with. We are very happy with the home and its services.
It is extremely hard when a parent has to move out of his/her home and into a care facility. I dreaded entering the home to visit my mum but I was pleasantly surprised. The whole atmosphere was warm and inviting which is down to the wonderful, hard-working staff that go out of their way to make family welcome and the residents feel safe and loved. Since being in the home, my mum has flourished and improved so much. She engages in fun activities and enjoys the amazing food. I feel relieved that she is in a very safe and nurturing environment.
The food is very good and presented in an inviting way to encourage the residents to eat.
Mum is looked after very well and feels safe and mostly happy. The staff are great, really friendly and supportive of her and us. She calls this her home which says a lot. We are very grateful. Thank you.
My mother is happy and contented in this home. She is receiving very good care from a team of dedicated carers who laid on a wonderful party for her 102nd Birthday and all my family were delighted.
He is doing so well under their care and has just celebrated his 100th birthday in style.
The staff are so caring and professional, and dare I say loving.
Words cannot express our family's gratitude for the care he receives.
She just celebrated her 102nd birthday and the care home went above and beyond to make it a special celebration for her and our family.
Nan still finds the food a bit hit-and-miss.
Thank you for your review; we value all feedback as this helps us to better our service where required. My mother is well cared for and happy. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I am kept informed re the state of her health. It would be nice if more outdoor activities were available. Also, a TV in her room would be nice.
Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We are pleased you are happy with your mother’s care, and we really appreciate your kind comments about our staff team. We will be in touch to talk about the activities we have planned and to arrange a TV for your mother’s room.
The staff in both Lucas House and Newton House showed great affection for our mother as she battled a painful illness. She was always treated with care and respect when her illness rapidly increased the nursing staff went beyond their duty staying extra hours to give her as much care as they could. In her final hours were given all the time we needed to say our goodbyes.
I am writing to say thank you to all the Care Home staff that have been taking care of my father over the past five months. He has complex clinical needs, but is nonetheless being kept comfortable and is happy and cheerful. The staff work hard and find time to chat and engage with my father, which has helped his speech develop. The home is bright and cheery and it is a pleasure to visit him in the Home. Thank you!
I moved my mum to Woodlands View having moved her from a previous nursing home where the care was an absolute disgrace! Every single member of staff from a particular nurse to all the health care assistants, entertainment and cooks. Everybody is so kind, caring and compassionate. I love my mum very much and I can sleep at night knowing she is well cared for at Newton House. Your staff are brilliant, what more can I say?
Staff are what make the place so special! They're kind and experienced and clearly love what they do!
All the staff are very friendly and caring. I feel very comfortable and at home here. The food is excellent and there is a very happy atmosphere.
I was very impressed with Woodlands Views. I'd never really experienced care homes before. You hear how the staff don't care about their patients so this is what I thought they all were like. I was wrong! All staff showed so much care and love towards my dad. I will be forever grateful that we chose here for hm.
We had a few teething problems at the beginning, which were promptly resolved. Mym has now settled in well and is enjoying the wonderful care and food provided!
The staff are all so lovely.
During this time, there have been numerous management changes in the care space.
Before the pandemic, there was another change in the company/management, and we have observed that the care, staff training, and management have improved significantly.
The staff goes beyond medical care, feeding, and basic needs by communicating with the residents as individuals, laughing with them, and supporting their psychological needs.
The team who are very busy and work really hard, but still come into the room with big smiles and even have a laugh with her, treating her with dignity and respect.
The space has added extra thought to Mum's care and they go beyond what is expected from them in their roles.
For example, the home has placed a birdfeeder outside her window. This is regularly filled with seeds, so she can watch the birds and squirrels (she loves nature).
Thank you to everyone at Woodlands View Care Home for all you do!
I feel my mum has received the best possible care. The staff clearly care about her and when she is lucid, Mum knows this. The home is well decorated and clean but most importantly, the staff are friendly and look after Mum really well. I would recommend this home to anyone! Thanks for everything you do.
Always happy whenever I've been to visit my dad. Any issues are dealt with quickly. A lot of care time seems to be taken up with paperwork which is a shame but not the carers' fault.
