The home is lovely, clean and bright. The staff are happy and helpful and treat the residents with dignity.
I am very pleased with the care my mum has been given. At times it seems the staff are rushed off their feet. My mum is on end of life care and is treated with such kindness. I think a little extra care could be taken with the upkeep of her room, as some times it could do with a clean.
The care home was ok except some facilities were not good: - visitor toilet dirty - laundry ruined some of Mum's clothes and some items of clothing were never returned, even though we personally labelled them - carers were very good but inadequate number of staff meant that Mum was left and not attended to when needing toileting - meal times were rushed, again due to lack of staff.
Thank you for your kind words regarding the care your Mother received during her stay at Woodlands View, we have shared your positive feedback with the Team. We appreciate any feedback we receive and are always keen to act upon any concerns raised. We are sorry that you felt the cleanliness was not...
My mother was a resident from February 2019 - September 2019, until she sadly passed away. The staff were always kind and compassionate right until she passed. They do a wonderful job, even though they are all under tremendous pressure due to not enough staff. This desperately needs to be addressed as mistakes can be made, and it's not the blame of the caring staff when this happens.

My family and I were extremely pleased with the care and kindness shown to our Mother when she was no longer able to live alone. The staff at Woodlands View treated her with respect and compassion, ensuring she was made comfortable at all times. Communication between ourselves and the home's staff was excellent and much appreciated, given I live abroad. Thanks to them, our Mother lived until she was 90 years old.
My Mother in Law has been at Woodland View since August 2018. She recently passed away on August 21st 2019. She has always been treated with compassion and us, as a family, have always been treated with great kindness and respect. The care came to the fore for the last week of her life. The staff (day and night) at Wellfield House were amazing. Thank you all so much.
Some staff members, in particular, go over and above at all times and are all phenomenal.
Always ready with advice and encouragement.
I am lucky to have her.
I live in Devon and come to visit with my father (who attends daily), four days probably every 6 weeks.
It saddened us that some of the staff were moved to other houses, who would then have the benefit of excellent care staff.
Our main worry was that the high standard of care we had experienced would be lowered.
I think we should give enormous thanks that the nominated individual and her staff, old and new, have again 'raised their game'. Well done.
Their patience and kindness made Mum's last months peaceful. They also gave me support and kept me informed.
I visited Mum daily and the staff were always welcoming. I cannot praise enough the carers who helped Mum and my family through her final hours. Mum's room was cosy and quiet; we could visit her at any time and help feed her.
Some updating of wc's would be good but this is an excellent care home.
Staff extremely helpful and happy and made our family very grateful. Can't thank you enough.
This review applies to a relationship built up between the Activities Leader in this establishment and myself. The Activities Leader is very caring and friendly and appears to treat all who come into her orbit with insight and real interest. She undertakes many tasks alongside her "amenities" role. Appears cheerful, happy, loving to all she deals with, residents and staff.
The home is a lovely place. The residents are happy. They could not be better looked after. Good food and plenty of it. Staff are very friendly and they do all they can to help the residents.
As a temporary resident for 3 weeks, I have been very impressed with the services provided and would certainly recommend this complex.
Staff are always friendly. Place is always clean and tidy. Dad is taken good care of.
My Mum was discharged from hospital for recuperation at Woodlands View after a bout of pneumonia. She had been deteriorating whilst in hospital and became bedbound. We had reservations as she had spent time previously in another care home but we found the kindness and care of all staff to be of a high standard. Mum did continue to deteriorate during her stay and sadly passed away but the staff treated her with dignity and had plenty of time for us too, keeping us fully informed and supporting us during a difficult period. I highly recommend Woodlands View for a family feel.
I got very good care and attention during my brief stay at this care home.
As well as being kind and professional to the patient, they are also good with all the visiting family and friends.
My dad was so poorly but I felt that the staff treated him as if he was family.
I was told that this home was good but oh my goodness I've been left humbled by sheer kindness. Thank you all.
On this last occasion after 4/5 weeks before returning home I was offered a recuperative NHS physiotherapy period at Woodlands View Care Home as I had been gradually losing my confidence of being outside without assistance.
I must admit I was hesitant of acceptance, 'Care Home'?
This was probably the best choice I have made.
Wonderful staff, several nationalities, excellent food, care, perfect treatment, cleanliness and kindness.
Thank you all and God Bless at Lucas Ward.
