My mother has been a resident of Woodlands View Care Home for about 3 years. She has lived at both Newton House and Lucas House. She came here from Lister Hospital after suffering a few falls at home. After she had settled in, she has been very happy. She has done a lot of art projects, painting etc, she has participated in music, games, bingo etc. The food is all fresh and of excellent standard. She can sometimes be a little anxious and the staff are all very kind and helpful.

Mum went into Woodlands View at the beginning of November 2020... sadly Mum passed away on January 22nd 2021. I cannot fault the care Mum received while she was there, the staff were brilliant, they looked after Mum so well, she even started to put weight on. If anything was wrong with Mum, we were notified straight away. A caring and loving home.

My aunty was at Woodlands View for nearly two years, and in that time, was shown such care and attention from the staff. She really enjoyed all the meals. She was always involved in activities, which ended up the highlight of her day. Thank you so much for taking such great care of her.

Myself and the rest of my father's family, wish to pass on our gratitude to all the staff of Wellfield Unit. Over the last few weeks of his life, how caring, understanding and gentle the staff have been with him, once he went on to end of life care, it must be very difficult circumstances during this period of Covid-19. I, the youngest daughter of resident, wish to please pass on my sincere thanks to the senior carer of the unit, for her caring and kind words in a very difficult situation.

My sister was at Woodlands for a short time but in that time she expressed how lovely the staff had been and just how much food they seemed to always offer her. When she passed away, staff were very compassionate. We didn't get to see inside the home, due to Covid visitor restrictions. All in all, my sister appeared happy and well looked after.

Dad was treated with dignity and care whilst in care at Woodlands. Whilst they had to nurse Dad during coronavirus, he was happy whilst able to before becoming ill with his illness. The nursing staff always kept in touch with us between our visits, looking through windows in spite of the Coronavirus. The staff was always cheerful and very obliging to help us.

My aunt has been at Woodlands View for 2 years and I cannot fault the care and the love she receives. The carers make her feel special and always keep me informed. During the lockdown, I have been able to talk to my aunt on skype with the carers help and they have gone out of their way to make sure I am still included in her life. My aunt and I are extremely happy and could not imagine her living anywhere else.

My Auntie has been a resident of woodlands view care home since April 2019. She started off in Newton House then moved to Lucas House in October 2019. Since March this year the care home has been on lockdown due to the Covid-19. My wife and I still go to see my Auntie and speak to her through the window of the quiet room which is not ideal but that's all we can do. We know how frustrating this is for all families that have loved ones there. We telephone on a regular basis to have a chat with my Auntie and we are always greeted by a jolly voice of one of the amazing staff. I have said this before and I will say it again. I could not wish for my Auntie to be in a better care home. All the staff are so delightful and always have time to talk. The attention to detail is so wonderful to see, from dishing up the food, making cups of tea and all the great activities they do. The head of Lucas house is without a doubt so professional in what she does in such a loving caring way. Thank you so much.

Overall, my late father's time living at the home was a happy and secure place for him. The carers I could not fault, kind, caring and they truly adored my dad. But the people in charge, seniors/superiors and management I found to be lazy. They were not prepared to 'roll up their sleeves' and help in the units when it was needed, which in my opinion does not make for good teamwork or prove to the staff that they generally care about them.

My sister-in-law received care that was exemplary. She was treated with kindness and treated with dignity. She was served good nutritious food, and when she could no longer feed herself, she was helped with great kindness. My brother visited his wife at least five times a week and sat with her all day, he never witnessed anything to give him concern - quite the opposite. They also showed great kindness.

My husband has been in Woodlands View Care Home for 3 years. I must say the care he has received has been extremely good, his skin has remained intact even though he cannot move himself. I cannot comment on the food, as my husband is fed through a peg. The carers are all kind and helpful and his nurses are supportive and caring not only to my husband but for me also.

I am very happy with the care my husband receives. The staff give excellent care and show incredible patience, even though my husband's behaviour can be quite challenging at times.

The staff are always happy to discuss any concerns or issues I may have and keep me updated with any changes to my husband's care or medication. I am also always made to feel very welcome whenever I visit.
