Mum was here for three weeks. During this time she was always treated with dignity, respect and the people were friendly.
Excellent, the best.
My mother, aged 96, was a temporary resident at the home, following discharge from hospital due to an ankle fracture. She was resident for a six-week period of time. I had hoped that her temporary stay might have been a step towards the possibility of permanent care within a care home. But following the events of the six-week stay, this is now totally out of the question. The months of March to April, ie when mum was resident, were cold this year. Sadly, on numerous occasions, I found her dressed in a single layer of clothing, despite my requests for more than this. (for example, a thin jumper over nothing!) Often, no socks, ditto. The worst, and saddest, occasion was on the evening of Maundy Thursday when I arrived at 7.30pm to find her sitting alone, dressed only in a polo shirt and vest. She asked whether she "had been naughty." And on Easter Sunday, I was yelled at by a senior carer, "you are in my face!", when asking for toileting assistance for mum. Absolutely outrageous.
Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I am sorry to hear you were not satisfied with the care your relative received while they were living in the Home. As you will be aware, when you first raised concerns to us we immediately launched a review and provided a written response to you...
Dad came to Woodlands View for discharge to access and as a family, we decided to extend his stay to allow him time to get better. The staff are extremely kind and caring and relate very well to him.
The staff are all very attentive and friendly.
It is a huge relief to the family that Dad is in a safe environment and is happy and comfortable.
I viewed several places before deciding my mother should be resident here at Woodlands View. This care home was head and shoulders above others due to staff and resident ratio. cleanliness and overall friendly atmosphere. I was pleased to have found a place I was comfortable with, knowing she would get well looked after. Note I don't say this lightly - I am generally difficult to please.
If a meeting is called it should not be in front of relatives, regardless of the issue. The manager was bordering on downright rude to the staff.
We should all treat people with respect and be polite and have empathy for all staff, not just give them a kicking.
Maybe a training course on Emotional Intelligence or Building Effective Working Relationships would go a long way in building bridges.

Care of the residents is very good, but there does seem a shortage of carers in relation to the number of residents.

Woodlands View cared for my cousin in the last few months of her life. She had Huntingdon's disease and by the time she moved to Woodlands View, she was bed bound. They treated her with care and dignity. Her condition was deteriorating all the time, but they showed much love and compassion. They provided us with all the relevant information and arranged medical treatment where appropriate.
I am responding to the CQC report in the local paper. I just want to say I did not agree with them.
My husband has been a resident since April 2017. He was transferred from hospital to another care home which was not a dementia specialist. The standard of security and overall cleanliness is fantastic. The level of care and dignity showed to all the residents is second to none. I visit two to three times per week and can leave feeling that he is in the best possible place and I can be at peace to continue my life.
My mother was a resident at Woodlands View from September 2013 until she passed away in November 2017. This has been a very caring and helpful home. We could not fault them in any way. My mum was treated with great care and dignity. Any questions I had were always answered quickly and efficiently. The staff in Newton House were excellent, they didn't only care for our mum, but supported us all especially and the last days of mum's life. I would never be able to thank them enough. I will really miss them as they became part of my family.
My mother was transferred from Lister Hospital to Woodlands View after having a very big serious bleed on the brain back in May '17 and was placed in Newton House. She was still quite poorly when she was first admitted but with the care from the wonderful nursing and care team in Newton House she is now doing very well. Her room is just about the right size and is nice and bright and looks out into the gardens. The whole team are very friendly, caring and hard working. I would like to thank them all for all their hard work and patience for the care and rehabilitation they have given my mother over the past couple of months.
Thank you for your review. It is lovely to hear that your mum is on the mend and that she is cared for so well.
I found the carers and nurses to be very helpful and considerate and very friendly. The care they gave my mum was exceptional and the home was always clean and tidy.

Very pleased with the standard of care this home provides to my mother. The staff and care and support is excellent. Senior care assistants are extremely good, and always helpful and responsive to any requests and questions.
Placing a loved one into full-time care is not easy and very emotional, however Woodlands View helped this process and made the transition a lot easier than anticipated. It is reassuring to know that you are dealing with a team of staff who really care.

My father spent a few weeks at Woodlands View Care Home and was made to feel very welcome right from the start. The staff were fantastic, not only to Dad but also to the family. Nothing was too much trouble. Having an open visiting hours system was brilliant and meant family and friends could visit on more occasions. A lovely care home which we would highly recommend.

I would like to express my appreciation to the staff and carers, in particular, Newton House for the care and kindness they showed to my Aunt during her time at Woodlands. She was very happy and content in the home and staff always made me and my family very welcome. She sadly passed away on the 8th September and when we came down to collect her things, nothing was too much for the staff. Also, thank you to the lady in the office who was always ready to assist us with any concerns we had.

Mum moved to the above home in August after 2 months in hospital. It took mum a few weeks to adjust but the staff are very patient and kind and mum has blossomed, which is lovely for us as we know she is being well looked after. Mum is 93 years old.

My Mum arrived in Woodlands View, having been neglected in her previous home and the professionalism, skill and compassion of the staff transformed her from a withdrawn woman into someone much more like her old self. My only regret is that I hadn’t got her to Woodlands sooner. I am forever grateful.
