My friend moved to Solent Grange just before Christmas, from the day we visited for a home tour, he was made to feel welcome.
Staff have been attentive to his needs, and I am able to visit regularly. There appears to be a good activities programme, and he tells me he enjoys the variety of choices
he is offered.
I was anxious for his move, but feel a great sense of relief knowing he is being so well cared for, and he is always extremely happy when I call or visit.
The whole team have been very approachable, and nothing seems too much trouble.

My sister-in-law has been here for a few months. She is very happy, loves her room and all the staff. Lovely home and lovely gardens. She loves going to the hairdressers and loves all the activities. It makes us happy to know she is being well cared for.

My husband and I came here for rehab. I cannot speak too highly of the place. The staff are so kind and thoughtful, and the nursing team are excellent. The food here is so special and varied, and we have a good team here for events and of leisure. It's in a homely setting. You will love it here.

As a family, we are so pleased with the care our cousin receives at Solent Grange. Unfortunately, none of us lives close by, but we are constantly kept informed of her well-being and able to talk to her at any time. We know she is happy and that the staff encourage her to join in with the events that
take place... especially horse racing nights! We cannot thank the staff enough for looking after her so well.
Reply from Aileen Nimmo, Sales & Marketing at Solent GrangeWe are delighted to read you are happy with the care your cousin receives. It is good to hear that your cousin enjoys the activities, especially the Horse racing nights, which is also a firm favourite with many of the residents and staff in the home.

Both my parents were at Solent Grange, my dad died in January and the care and compassion shown were fantastic. My mum is still there and the carers have been amazing during such a difficult time. They continue to give support to the whole family whilst doing an amazing job of caring for mum. I do think
they are underpaid and understaffed and also the cleaners and kitchen staff do a fantastic job. A big thank you to all staff.

My mother was in Solent Grange for nearly two weeks in her final days. During that time, we were fortunate to be able to see her and experience the amazing genuine care shown to her by all the staff. We are so glad she was in Solent Grange and treated with such dignity and respect. What could have been
such a difficult time for both my father and I was made easier knowing she was being treated so well by such lovely people in beautiful surroundings.
Thank you again, Solent Grange.

My mum was admitted in June 2017 with dementia. A harrowing decision for myself and the family. The decision could have haunted me for life! However, the loving care, attention and friendship my mum and me made here will forever be remembered. So well cared for, entertained and loved. I truly appreciate
everything about the home. I would be blessed if I ended up there myself.

My mother has been a resident for two years and recently her health started to decline rapidly. The staff and management at Solent Grange were kind and understanding during what proved to be Mum's final few weeks. They kept the family fully informed and it was a great comfort to know that she was amongst
friends as much as carers. They were always compassionate yet practical both with her and us at a difficult and emotional time.

My sister is so very happy here, so very well cared for. Truly loved and respected by all the brilliant staff. She has been in care before moving into Solent Grange but this is a new and wonderful life for her, far more than we could have ever hoped for. Thank you to all and for giving her her life

Solent Grange is a lovely nursing home.
All the staff are friendly, helpful and caring.
The rooms are large, bright and airy and the food is good too.
My father was a resident for about 8 weeks and I feel he was treated most lovingly, with respect, kindness and consideration.
They are a credit to

My Grandmother never wanted to be in a care home, so it was under sufferance that we placed her in a home as she needed constant nursing care.

I am so glad to say that Solent Grange Care Home has been a true example of what care is meant to be. The staff were the most attentive, personable, caring

and compassionate people I have ever had the chance to meet and I will be forever in their debt for the kindness they showed my Grandmother and my family.

Thank you for making what can be a painful and terrifying experience of losing a loved one into a peaceful and warm event.

Once again, thank you for everything.

My Dad has been resident since May 2018. The staff and management are excellent, caring and approachable, Dad is content and for the most part and happy to be there. He cannot always remember why he is there but the staff are always patient and tolerant on his off days which due to his dementia, he
is now in his 100th year and well looked after. I am confident he is in safe hands. The home is clean, light and airy with a relaxed atmosphere and always welcoming.

My nan was made to feel very welcome here. Her room was lovely and so big. All the staff were friendly. The food looked good and everywhere is so clean.
Although Nan was only here for 2-3 weeks respite after a long stay in hospital it certainly made a difference in her recovery. We as a family have
visited many homes on the Isle of Wight for respite care for my grandparents and permanent care for other relations and I can honestly say that we have now found the best.

My mum came into Solent Grange for respite after a long stay in the hospital. From the moment she was assessed by the Manager and Deputy she was treated with such dignity and respect we were overwhelmed. Arriving at Solent Grange was lovely. Staff all smiling and welcoming. We were made to feel
at ease immediately. Mum just fell in love with all her carers and nurses - they were just so kind to her. We have a large family who came to visit mum regularly and we were all made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The food was lovely and the chef even came to see mum to discuss her diet. Everything just made my mum feel special and I can not thank them all enough. Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.382)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.382) out of 10 for Solent Grange is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.827 for Solent Grange is calculated as follows: ( (130 Excellents x 5) + (25 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 156 Ratings = 4.827
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.555 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Solent Grange is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 89 registered maximum number of service users is 17.8. 13 Positive Reviews ÷ 17.8 = 0.73
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
