An excellent experience, nothing was too much trouble no matter how busy the staff were. Sometimes seemed more like a hotel than a nursing home. The permanent residents all seemed very happy with their lot. I was in a rehab bed and was encouraged constantly to do my best towards my rehabilitation.

My stay at Springfield was extremely comfortable and pleasant. The care provided was professional and to a high standard. The staff were very helpful and caring. The food was extremely good. Also, my room and facilities were of a very good standard and benefited in my rehabilitation. I was very fortunate to receive such good care and support.

My Mother was given a limited life expectancy (days) when she was transferred to Springfield Nursing Home.
The weekend that we received this news we visited four care homes and Springfield stood out immediately as having the warm, friendly environment that we were seeking for Mum.
We were, from that initial visit, treated as if we were a potential valued customer.
Mum required constant air supplement and cylinders were sourced and in place within forty-eight hours.
Within a week of my Mother moving in there was a marked improvement in her health to such a degree that with the care and support of all at Springfield Mum lived almost two more years.
My Mother was an independent woman and would most certainly have let me know if she was unhappy. Nothing that caused me any concern was raised.
On our visits, the room was always clean and tidy and the staff always sympathetic to Mums needs - we were also always well looked after.
Mum really enjoyed her visits from Diesel the retriever and being taken out to the coastal path in her wheelchair.
Observations by me:-
The variety of food at tea and suppertime could be improved.

Possibly an appropriate exercise programme.

My mother passed away peacefully on Sunday 15th November 2018. In the nearly two years she spent at Springfield she was looked after with love, care and kindness at all times. When I visited, day and night, there were always friendly staff.

Everything was spotlessly clean and my mother, who was incontinent, was always beautifully dressed and never smelled. I am sure this is the best nursing home on the island.

My father, now deceased, was a resident at Springfield Nursing Home until he died there.

His health got worse very quickly in the final months. The personal care he received was exceptional until the very end by junior and senior staff. I was fortunate to be with my father when he died spending 16 of his last 26 hours with him. I was fed and given time with him alone. Dignity and respect shown.

I first came here in the 20th Sept I was very wary and in pain. I was soon made to feel at home. The kindness I have not received for such a long time, nothing was too much even at night time. Food was good at times, the rest of the time lovely and tasty. I enjoyed some of the activities when and if my hand would let me do more. Well now for your staff; I can't say much but I have never met such a bunch of people that are so caring. I called them my oranges and those oranges were magical, wonderful, I could carry on but no more room.

I arrived at Springfield in a great deal of pain and not well at all. But, with care (great care) and a lot of help with physio, also with the physio help when I was first able to move, I had sometimes 1-2 with me. But Springfield is such a lovely place. The staff are excellent and they cared about you. Such a lovely lovely place. I would not mind going there for a quiet holiday and be looked after. Lovely people.

This nursing home is bright and well appointed with many nice rooms, especially downstairs. The staff are very caring and go that extra mile for the residents. My husband, who became increasingly ill, was made very comfortable and all his needs were met with compassion and dignity.

As a resident of 'Springfield' for several months, I would like to say how well I have been cared for. The staff at all levels, are helpful, cheerful and approachable.
I enjoy the meals which are tasty and varied, which I can take in my room or the dining room.
My room is comfortable and I can have visitors at any time. My wife visits daily and always receives a friendly welcome from the staff.

I believe Springfield to be a happy, well run nursing home.

I initially came to Springfield from hospital having broken my left ankle and was still in plaster; I spent 3 weeks in a very nice room on the ground floor and was transferred when a large room became available upstairs in the rehab department, where I have spent 3 weeks. Very beneficial and now can walk and return home. Throughout my 6 weeks stay I have received wonderful care in every respect and am so grateful to all concerned. The staff have been caring night and day and the physios have put me back on my feet- at 95!

Natalie FieldingJob Title:Home ManagersJoined: 2026

Joining Springfield Nursing home in January 2026 was a fantastic start to the New Year. The home has a lovely, calm and welcoming feel, and this is matched by the committed and hard-working staff team.

The best part about being the manager here is that I have the privilege of leading a home that already enjoys a long-established reputation for delivering high-quality, person-centred care. It really is just a case of ensuring we are continually striving for excellence, whilst never losing sight of why we are here, doing what we do.

The people who call Springfield their home will always be at the heart of everything we do, and that will never change. If you come in, please find me to say hello. We can have a cake and a chat! Two of my favourite things.

Tom Langley
Tom LangleyJob Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2024

I'm Tom, and I am the deputy manager at Springfield Nursing Home where I have recently joined at the end of 2024.

My healthcare career began when I was 18 as a care assistant in a nursing home and a specialist dementia home, and I progressed to a nurse some years later. My experience in emergency nursing and community nursing has been invaluable to my role in management, and I continuously strive to develop my own skills further.

I am proud to be part of such an exceptional team that always has the resident's interests at heart. The values set out by Hartford Care are reflected wonderfully in the day-to-day lives of the residents here at Springfield and I feel privileged to play a role in that journey every day.
