I have seen an improvement in my friend since moving to Betsy Clara in Loose. The atmosphere of the home is calm and it has a good feeling as you walk in. The residents always appear happy and calm.
The staff are all kind and considerate and really care for their residents.
I would have no hesitation
in recommending this home/care provider to anybody.

I have been bringing my dog to visit the residents once a week for several months.
All the residents appear happy and well cared for.
There are always lots of activities happening whenever I visit.
There is a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere at Betsy Clara.

My over-riding impression of Betsy Clara is that it's a happy place. The staff always have a smile on their faces despite the challenging job they do. I leave my aunt confident in the knowledge that she is warm, safe, well fed and being looked after.
My only suggestion would be that the residents are
encouraged to exercise and move around more as they just seem to sit all day.

I have difficulty writing.
Care given by staff first class.
Doctors don't seem to take care of their patients, take too long to support their patients.
Patients wait for too long for their medicines to be issued.

My mum was accepted into Betsy Clara House in October this year. It is always a difficult decision but everyone at the home was so welcoming and friendly. Every time I visit I feel part of the family there and Mum is always well looked after and is safe and comfortable. She knows the staff who are
always smiling and friendly and very approachable and has made friends. As a relative newbie, I am still asking questions but nothing is too much trouble for them. I now feel so relieved that Mum is somewhere clean, warm, comfortable and welcoming.
I would not hesitate in recommending this care home.

On each occasion, I have visited my sister in Betsy Clara. I have met different members of staff and each one is extremely caring, always smiling and a credit to their manager who must have interviewed them and employed them. They make me so welcome when I am there. My sister's room is so clean and
tidy and all her needs are met with care and compassion. If I were ever in need of a nursing home myself - that would be my choice!

I found it very pleasurable indeed, very friendly, everyone pleasant and very helpful.
They entertained the residents very well, kept them very happy.
My partner has settled in and I feel very happy and also please to now he is being looked after and is very safe.

Very good attentive and pleasant staff. This was my first visit and my brothers and sister were already happy with everything.


I noticed a massive positive change in my father who was very happy indeed. Such a shame all care homes are very expensive.

My husband has been a resident of Betsy Clara for three years and his care has been excellent, with his care plan altered accordingly with the progression of his dementia.
Care staff are caring and attentive to the resident's needs. Every effort is given to ensure continuity of staff, thus giving a
lovely atmosphere.
The home is kept very clean and never smells of urine or cabbage.

My father was a resident of Betsy Clara for 2+ years. The care and attention he received was always of the highest quality and meant that he was able to finish his life with friends, not staff and was able to pass on with dignity and care and with someone by his side.

The celebration of my mum and dads 60th anniversary was well organised by the activities coordinator and all the staff working that day. This enabled all family members and friends to enjoy their special day.
We had a fantastic time which formed great memories for us to cherish for the rest of our
lives.

A group of us from Linton Road Congregational Church visit the home once a month to take a service for the residents. We receive a very warm welcome from the staff and residents and enjoy seeing them join in - one dear man even joined in by playing the spoons when we were all singing! The staff are
all attentive and everyone seems happy and well cared for.

So impressed with the manager and the team for the care they have taken with Dad.
Not only has he put weight on, but he is happy and settled and even going on a boat trip in the near future organised by the care home. It really is a 'care home ', such lovely staff. Every single time I have visited
or telephoned they have impressed me not just with their attentiveness to Dads needs but also their knowledge about him, his history, likes and dislikes.

My mum has been a resident of the Betsy Clara House Nursing Home for approximately 12 weeks and my family and I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff for a wonderful job that they do in stressful circumstances. My mum spent six months in a hospital prior to Betsy Clara House Nursing Home
and her health went downhill, but since she has been in Betsy Clara House Nursing Home she has come on leaps and bounds ie eating and communicating. Thank you.

My husband was in hospital for 3 months prior going into a care home. He had been kept in bed all that time. Within the first day in care, he was dressed and in the lounge and has been walking with help. Within 3 weeks, there has been a 100% improvement. All the staff are caring wonderful people and
that includes all of our family, not just my husband. Nothing is too much trouble and one to one care is brilliant. My husband is settled and happy. My husband has Parkinson's and Parkinson's dementia. I and my youngest daughter have power of attorney.

Dad arrived 3rd January at the home. Since his arrival he has flourished, from being almost bed-ridden in hospital, he is now eating and drinking by himself. The staff are so caring, treating all the residents with dignity and compassion. The nurses are superb and act immediately. I could not ask for
my father to be in a better place. It feels like his home and we too are made to feel part of his home. Life now has a meaning again. We were upset having to make this decision, but to see my Dad now we have him back and I could not ask for anything more.

I have been a Registered Nurse for over 30 years, the last 8 of them as manager at Betsy Clara. Before this, I had many work experiences, including NHS hospitals, Community Nursing, a Hospice and several other Nursing Homes.


I enjoy working with the residents and our close-knit team, as a family are at the centre of everything we do. We promote a sense of family within the home, caring for everyone and getting to know our individual residents’ likes and dislikes so that we can provide genuine individualised person-centred care.


We have been on a long journey with our residents and are constantly striving to develop new and better ways of supporting them to live the best life they can with us and their families.”

“I have worked in health care for over 20 years; I started my career within the community, where my primary role was supporting people with various needs within their homes.


I then went on to work in several residential/nursing homes where residents had early onset dementia to later stages of dementia and caring for those at the end of their lives – I enjoyed making a difference in their day-to-day lives.


I came to Betsy Clara in 2014; I started as a care assistant and became a senior in my first year. I then went on to do a CHAPs course and became a Senior Care Home Assistant Practitioner, I enjoyed working alongside our nursing team, where I gained lots of knowledge and skills.


As the Deputy Manager position became available with the knowledge and skills I gained, it gave me the confidence to apply for the role, and I was successful. In this role, I aim to create a happy, safe, homely environment for our residents.”

“I began my career in hospitality, where I was part of a small family-run restaurant. While working there, I applied to university and completed a Level 5 in Health & Social Care Management to pursue a career in a care home setting. This would allow me to gain the skills and knowledge to become part of a successful management team.


While at university, I was on a placement in some care homes and hospital settings, which I enjoyed. This made me realise that this was the career I wanted.


Once I gained my qualification, I left our family business to join Betsy Clara House in 2019, where I first started as part of the care team. I enjoyed my role here, learning about different types of dementia and how many residents were suffering from this disease; although many residents have the same dementia, they all have other traits and require personalised care and treatment.


Then came the opportunity to enrol on the CHAP course, where I would learn additional skills around medication, catheter care, venepuncture, wounds and end-of-life care using the syringe driver.


My current role within Betsy Clara is Care Home Assistant Practitioner (CHAP), where I work alongside our nursing team.”

“After gaining many years of experience working in dementia care, I came to Betsy Clara House in the summer of 2015 as a senior carer, then took my current role in the spring of 2018.

Some of the many things that the team do include Namaste, supporting Spiritual needs, 1 to-1 time, cookery club with the support of a chef, music and exercise, and bringing fun and enjoyment into the house.
