Halliwell Care Home

When my mother moved into the Halliwell, she knew she was at the end of life and that she would not return home. This difficult time was made easier by the wonderful care and consideration shown to her by all the staff. As a regular visitor, I was made to feel at home. From cleaning staff to waiters, gardeners, care assistants, nurses and managers, I always received a warm welcome. For Mummy and all the family, it was home from home. The experience of the staff and their readiness to listen at difficult moments made the unbearable bearable. Thank you.

The Halliwell Care Home was an amazing, caring place for my sister’s end of life care. From the first visit we made to when my sister passed away two weeks later, the staff were always wonderful. Each time we visited, we were impressed by the warm and friendly atmosphere and the cleanliness of this comfortable care home. All staff from manager, reception, nurses, carers, catering, etc were all very passionate about their jobs and the care home and I can honestly say it shone through each day. My sister’s needs were met with dignity from day one and their support and care for us was always there when needed. As her health deteriorated, it was a great comfort to know my sister was always shown kindness and respect. Unfortunately she was too ill to partake in activities provided and didn’t eat much but we were able to book a meal when we wanted one and all food was enjoyable and menus varied daily. The lovely garden was also a joy to wander in and contemplate matters in private when needed.

I had hoped that he would then be able to come home but that was sadly not an option. The staff at the Halliwell cared for him with such compassion, maintained his dignity and took interest in him as a person not only a patient, wonderful care.

I would like to thank everyone at Halliwell who looked after my father, particularly in his last few hours. Their sensitivity and gentleness were exemplary for whilst he was completely aware of his rapidly declining health, he was reassured by the staff and hence felt no fear. The final moments were therefore very calm. Thank you for this and for all the many other kindnesses everyone has shown, not just to my father, but also to me and my family.

Halliwell is an exceptional nursing home. It is well-run and the staff are superb. Abolutely all the staff - whether they're nurses, carers, receptionists or part of the housekeeping, restaurant, maintenance teams - engage with the residents and genuinely care about both their physical and emotional wellbeing. It's a caring, happy place and did an excellent job of caring for my 90 year old dad.

The staff were cheerful, friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

I had a close friend who was a resident at Halliwell for over 2 1/2 years and I would visit 2 or 3 times every week. Halliwell was always lovely and clean - nice, warm and comfortable, and became 'home' to my friend for her time there.

The staff were wonderful and very caring and the management were always available, should any minor points need to be discussed.

I would have no hesitation in highly recommending Halliwell to anyone thinking of similar care for a friend or relative.

I would thoroughly recommend the Halliwell Care Home in Tunbridge Wells if you have the suitable finances. The care is second to none and the staff are excellent.

The care and nursing my husband experienced in the Halliwell at Tunbridge Wells could not have been better.

My father spent a few months at Halliwell Care Home after suffering a stroke. We were impressed by the way in which my father was treated as an individual and with great care and dignity. Staff at Halliwell Care Home took time to keep myself and other members of our family well informed at all times. We would recommend Halliwell Care Home to others in a similar situation.

I would like to thank everyone at the Halliwell Care Home for the outstanding care given to my Mother following her terminal cancer diagnosis. She had the most dignified and peaceful death surrounded by her family with amazing support and consideration from all the staff. Thank you.

I cannot recommend Halliwell more highly. Halliwell was home to my mother. The staff were exceptionally kind and caring and always made the family welcome. The activities arranged by the Friends of Halliwell were the icing on the cake. The restaurant downstairs, hairdresser and garden all added to the feeling of home.

A truly excellent care home. I cannot fault it. My father, age 96 and very independent, spent two weeks there for respite care. The staff were excellent and I had no qualms about him being in their care. I am trying to convince him to go there permanently as he lives on his own. He says he has no objection to going back, but might wait until he is a bit older.

Halliwell Care Home ticked all the boxes for us. We knew that Dad was in safe hands with staff who were respectful, patient, and caring and met all his needs. The Location is perfect being in the centre of Tunbridge Wells with lovely grounds where we were able to take Dad in a wheelchair and have afternoon tea. The dining room is a sociable area for residents to eat together if they so wish or you can opt to have your meals in your room. There is also entertainment provided to entertain residents also there is access to hairdressing and a Chiropodist . We can't recommend Halliwell Care Home highly enough.

The Manager and her team made my father exceptionally welcome and arranged for him to come and stay at very short notice over the Christmas period in 2015. My father was very well looked after in all respects in a very comfortable and safe environment

Both my father (who died in May this year) and my mother were admitted to Halliwell in July 2014. The staff and facilities are marvellous and I have been very happy with the way our family have been treated - from the rather sudden admission, through dad's declining and now looking after mum.
