Very clean, very friendly staff. Residents happy, nothing is too much trouble. Have seen staff sitting with residents holding hands and soothing her. Kissed her on the forehead when left (they didn't know I was watching).
Lovely place, would want to come here myself.
Reply from Carol Marsh, General Manager at Maidstone Care CentreThank you for your lovely review of the home. It is good to hear such nice comments about the care the staff give. After all, that is what we are here for. It is the residents and families home.

Thank you for looking after my beloved Dad. He was well cared for, always clean. The staff are amazing, they are cheerful and professional. The bedrooms and communal areas are spotless. The food looks very appetising. There are numerous events/activities and my dad was always included although his participation
was limited. The staff were so kind, even after my dad passed away on New Year's Day. Thank you.

Very good. All the carers are very approachable and kind.
This includes the management who I've found to be very helpful.
My husband says he feels safe and relaxed and very well looked after and this is, of course, wonderful for me as it goes some way to making our separation easier to bear.
The
atmosphere is so peaceful and calm especially in the sitting room which is a delight.

While my brother was a resident in the Maidstone Care Centre, we were pleased with his care.
He was always lovely and clean and made comfortable.
He was treated with respect.
We were always made welcome by the friendly staff.
The premises were spotlessly clean.

The manageress was very supportive in a difficult time as mum weakened and passed on. The nurses worked hard to relieve her pain and make her as comfortable as possible whilst complying with her wishes and maintaining her dignity. They seemed more concerned with the needs of the residents and family
rather than a money-making business - unlike some care homes which talk the talk but seem more concerned about getting paid.
Reply from Carol Marsh, General Manager at Maidstone Care CentreThanks for your kind review of the home. I know prospect families and residents read these reviews to help them find a home. They are reviews from people who know the service which makes it invaluable.

My father has been a resident since October 2017. He is treated with respect and tenderness especially around the time of my mum's death in July 2018 after being together for 68 years.
He enjoys the activities and is happy with the food - I feel that he is in a safe and caring environment.

I am very pleased with the level of care my mother received at Maidstone Care Centre. Every single staff member we met was calm, friendly and polite. Mum was treated with dignity and respect at all times. It was a relief to us as a family to be able to relax knowing that we could trust the people who
were caring for Mum.

Maidstone Care Centre is spacious and bright, with easy access and a modern appearance. My mum spent ten days here, after several weeks in hospital. It was a relief to settle her into the home, with its peaceful and calm atmosphere. Her room was bright and airy, with modern furniture and a bed that,
whilst functional, did not have the appearance of a hospital bed. The window overlooked the trees and we could hear birdsong in the mornings.

The strength of the centre was its staff. All were caring and kind, respectful towards Mum and to us; they spoke gently and were mindful of our feelings. The advance care plan was set in place and activated as required. The registered nurse and the manager offered support and kindness through a very difficult time, and I cannot thank them enough for helping us during the final days.

After the noisy and harsh environment of the hospital, this was exactly the setting we wanted for Mum. I would not hesitate to recommend this care centre.

My mother spent a couple of months at the home. I couldn't fault the staff for their caring attitude and witnessed regular toileting, iced lollies and watermelon in the heat and regular drinks being offered at all times. There did appear to be a lack of stimulation as the majority of residents couldn't
communicate easily. The food was ok, but the 5 pm supper of soup, sandwiches (plus sometimes jacket potato) and dessert seemed too much, especially as the afternoon cup of tea had biscuits/homemade cake served. A hairdresser attends most weeks, but there wasn't a 'plan B' if they didn't attend and hair was left unwashed for a long time. Even when requested for hair to be washed it was several days later following a second reminder when this occurred. The laundry was hit and miss and we left with some items missing, even some labelled with her name, and returned items which weren't hers. The one thing the home needs to resolve is the unpleasant odour which greets you on each floor.

Excellent care home. Staff are brilliant, I needed somewhere for my mum to live that was clean and very well run, this care home meets and exceeds all my requirements for my mother. I consider my mother and myself to be very lucky to have found this care home and would recommend to anyone this is the
standard all care homes should aim for. The manager I also found to be very caring in her duties, very sympathetic in my mother's needs and mine. To anyone looking for a care home, I would put this one at the top of your list and set it as a benchmark.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.403)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.403) out of 10 for Maidstone Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 42 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.403 for Maidstone Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (294 Excellents x 5) + (139 Goods x 4) + (38 Satisfactorys x 3) + (12 Poors x 2) + (11 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 494 Ratings = 4.403
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Maidstone Care Centre is based on 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 58 registered maximum number of service users is 11.6, which has been reached with 38 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
