I attended the Russell Court summer fair with other members of my family to be with our Mum, it was so nice to see everyone outside and enjoying the live singers. Russell Court provided a BBQ and refreshment which went down well, they also held a raffle with a good selection of prizes.

The staff were very attentive to the residents and it was nice to see them in a relaxed atmosphere.

The care and attention paid to my husband during his 4 month stay was second to none. I cannot thank them enough for the care and compassion towards my husband and myself. I was present at his death and so were the carers who had looked after him during his brief stay. The standard of care and cleanliness was of an exceptionally high standard. Thank you everyone.

My sister stayed at Russell Court for over a year coming from her own home where she was no longer safe. Russell Court offered her a secure and friendly home. The long term staff there were excellent, very friendly. My sister has sadly passed away, but the genuine sadness the staff have shown, says how much they cared.

The nurses and staff are caring and supportive however the administer team are sometimes lacking in supportive response.

I find that being asked to pay forward a social fund for someone who is bed-bound to be inappropriate and although the charge is small I object in principle.

Staff are very attentive and passionate, nothing is too much for them. The manager always has a smile on her face and is polite. Cannot fault this home and the care. The food always looks good. I would recommend this home.

Our mum was only in Russell Court for a short time due to the nature of her stay but the care and affection she got from the girls was wonderful. They all showed such tenderness when caring for our mum. In fact, one of the girls actually said that she looked forward to coming into work to look after the residents as it was like looking after her nan, which we found lovely. I would definitely, highly recommend Russell Court. Thank you.

My mother resided happily at Russell Court Nursing Home for exactly five years. During this time she received excellent all-round care. She was encouraged to pursue her knitting hobby and she loved the musical entertainment that was provided regularly.

Latterly, when she was nearing the end of her life, her care was tailored to her specific needs and I was readily informed with details of her ailing health by the very friendly and caring nursing staff.

Overall Experience

We, my sister and I, got off to a rather bad start with Russell Court, but that was down to one person who is no longer there. My mum was there from June 2022 to only a few days ago, when she died. Overall, the standard of care was very good and the staff were always helpful and friendly. Yes, there were occasional minor lapses, but we are all human after all. Although Mum didn't really take part in many of the events that went on at the home, the residents always had opportunities to take part in activities (summer parties, trips, cooking, shopping, petting animals and etc.), even if only from the comfort of their room. The end of life care Mum received over the last few weeks was exemplary and the home's flexibility with regards to visiting and ensuring Mum passed away peacefully could not have been better. The home certainly gets my recommendation.

Wow! Peace of mind that my mum is cared for in a safe and welcoming 'home from home' environment. Her room is well appointed and kept spotlessly clean. Personal belongings and decor help to keep the environment familiar and personal. A detailed care plan ensures her needs and wishes are met in relation to the care she receives. The staff are experienced and so very caring, taking time to chat and sing with my mum while feeding or carrying out personal care. Mum has received swift and effective medical treatment from the nursing staff and I have been kept informed of her demeanour and wellbeing every day, via the app and in person. Russell Court has enabled me to go back to being a daughter, enabling me to spend quality time with my mum, but being secure in the knowledge she is perfectly content when I'm not there.

My brother passed away in April 2023 after being a resident in the nursing home for twenty-three years. During his time there, he enjoyed various entertainment, barbecues and outings. He loved spending time in the lounge, joining in with the activities and enjoying a friendly chatter with his friends and the staff, who were like a second family to him. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff; they treated him with respect and the loving care they provided was second to none. They shared playful banter with him, which he enjoyed, and the resulting smiles and laughter was memorable. I always received a friendly welcome when I visited and was kept well informed of my brother's progress. At times when I was unable to visit, I was given the option of having a video call with him. I will always appreciate this, as I was able to speak to him shortly before he passed away. The home is well run, clean and well maintained.

My darling father-in-law is in your home now. You have been absolutely brilliant looking after him. One member of your staff deserves a medal he has been fantastic can’t thank him enough, another staff member has been a star organising our video time with Dad. You all deserve a pat on the back, can’t thank you all enough. You looked after my dear mum-in-law who sadly passed away in March. Wishing you all the very best and a huge thank you to all the management carers and staff for keeping this a COVID free nursing home.

My mum was in Russell Court Nursing Home for 11yrs 2months, and I could not have wished for a nicer home for her to have lived in. It was always very clean and tidy, the food was always fresh and presented nicely, and the rooms were very comfortable. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and very caring, some have been working there since before my mum moved into Russell Court.
