Abbeycrest

On arriving at Abbeycrest you enter a bright cheerful and welcoming reception area. All the staff were friendly and helpful. My husband's care was excellent with one exception - I felt there were not enough carers on duty between 1.30 and 4 pm. The needs of my husband did not always fit the routine, In my opinion the carers worked a very long day with short breaks.

I live in Canada and it is so comforting to know that my mum is in such good hands. Thank you all.

I have been satisfied with the level of care my family member has received at Abbeycrest care home. I visit regularly and have always observed the staff treating residents with kindness, courtesy and care even in challenging situations. My family members health is maintained very carefully, and a host of initiatives have been put in place to ensure they remain as happy and healthy as possible. I am always made to feel welcome whenever I visit, and I am regularly updated on my relatives condition and am consulted on every decision made. I would not hesitate in recommending Abbeycrest as a suitable home for a loved one - five people had separately recommended it to me.

All the staff are very friendly, helpful and caring including the nurses, carers all the way to the man who brings the laundry back. They create a warm, happy and friendly home.

My mother spent almost six years in the care of the staff at Abbeycrest. During this time she was very well looked after by the staff despite her condition being quite challenging at times. The staff showed great patience and understanding, and gave excellent advice and support to me and the rest of the family. I have recommended Abbeycrest to a number of friends, many of whom have ended up with relatives becoming residents at the home.

All the staff both involved and supported the family over the four year period and we appreciated that greatly.

I feel the staff care about mum's needs. She is safe, well fed, clean and cared for.

I have looked at many care homes. This is one of the best I have seen. Clean and refreshing, a treat to visit and must make the residents feel much better in themselves. The care they receive is second to none and all the care workers are very dedicated to the job they are doing. The only downside I find is that the food for the dementia people should be cooked a little more as most of it is far too hard for them to chew.

The manager is approachable and available at short notice. Sorting out any problems promptly.

They seem not to know how really great they are. Well mannered, empathetic, sensitive and friendly.

The rooms are homely, the double aspect windows making them light and airy.

All the staff are polite and thoughtful, allowing us privacy for our visits while offering us support............. and refreshments.

Various entertainments are provided. From reading the news and quizzes to flower arranging.

Other family members who visited were also impressed and said it was the best home they had visited.

We have no hesitation in recommending this home.

My father spent his last nine months in Abbeycrest. Throughout that time he was given extraordinary levels of care and compassion by every member of staff. To know that he was genuinely cared for during his stay was a huge comfort to myself and every other member of the family. I can't thank the Abbeycrest team enough, for the kindness and care that they provided to my father and our family.

During the course of Mum's residency in Abbeycrest, spanning over six years, she was always treated with kindness, tenderness and great patience by the staff, especially in the last eleven months of her life when she was bedridden, unable to speak ad in the advanced stages of dementia. One always felt welcome in the home and everyone was cheerful and most helpful.

The staff on the floor where my mother lived were kind, caring and considerate - and nothing ever seemed to be too much trouble. We always received a warm welcome from all at Abbeycrest - and when mum passed away, everyone was very kind. The team treated us with consideration and compassion. Thank you all.

Whilst my father's stay at Abbeycrest was quite short, we always found all staff considerate, caring and professional. The facilities were good and the overall feeling is of a homely facility which is being run well and with a high level of care.

My mother-in-law received respite care as a resident for 3 weeks. Our need was urgent and the Manager was very responsive, understanding and clearly very experienced, making a home visit to assess her requirements on the day following my first visit. A room was made available to her within days. All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming, helping her to settle in. At all times, they were professional and responded quickly to her needs. She was encouraged to participate in the many activities on offer. Residents’ rooms are spacious and all public areas are clean, bright and cheerful. I would have no hesitation in recommending Abbeycrest Crest Care Home to other families.

My father's dementia made him very challenging to be cared for. The Abbeycrest team of nurses, carers and even catering staff made his last months as comfortable and peaceful as possible. I would recommend this care home very highly.
