My mum was very unhappy at her previous care home, so as a family we moved her to Abbeycrest. The difference in just a few days was quite amazing. Every single time we visit mum is laughing and happy in her own way. All staff members from management to nursing to catering are brilliant. Our main concern
for mum was that she will be happy wherever she is. We have certainly made the correct choice with Abbeycrest.

I am so pleased how mum has settled. She is much happier now since being in Abbeycrest. All the staff are wonderful. She seems very fond of all of them.

My 103 year old friend was a resident at Abbeycrest for the last fifteen months of her life, when she needed the 100% rapport that her previous care home although good could not provide. She was fed, talked to, turned over and no bed sores in way that combined professionalism, care and kindness in the
face of seizures that deprived her of physical and mental capacity. Staffing levels are high and there is a calm atmosphere throughout. It does not have an institutional feel. Everything is bright and light and relatively spacious.

My mum has been a resident for more than 2 and half years now, and she has been very happy here. All the carers have been lovely and treat mum with care and respect. She always remarks how kind everyone is, and how patient the staff are. The rooms are all comfortable and well furnished, my mums room
has a lovely patio and view of the garden. The carers and nurses are all very approachable and it is easy to raise any concerns with them.

I visit Abbeycrest everyday and the carers and nurses are always very courteous, kind, friendly and helpful. I am happy that my wife is looked after very well, is comfortable and safe. Nothing is too much trouble.

I have been blessed to have a very successful career working in the health and social care sector with over 30 years of experience. I trained as a nurse in Hertfordshire and have maintained my registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, after qualifying I worked in A&E before stepping into the community in 2003 where I managed domiciliary care including complex care as clinical lead and then into a care home management.


It is important to me that my team feel valued and supported in their roles, as well as having the opportunity to develop so that our home can thrive and be a happy and beautiful home for everyone.


At Abbeycrest, we are one big family and everything we do is from the heart, treating the people living in our community as individuals understanding their choices, wishes and dreams for no other reason than to make a difference every day.”


I grew up locally and even went to school up the road, I moved away to undertake my nurse training and am pleased to be back in the local area.
