Ferendune is the most wonderful care home I have ever visited. It is happy. The staff genuinely care about the residents. They are kind and patient and full of smiles. It was wonderfully reassuring to see how they care for my mum. The food is of good quality and the staff are thoughtful in how they present it. Because some residents have memory difficulties, the staff put a sample of each of the menu items on a plate and when they ask residents what they would like to eat, they show them the example items on the plate so they can easily select their choice (rather than relying on their memory to guide their decision-making). Everything at Ferendune is thoughtfully done, many wonderful activities for residents to join in and it is located in a beautiful part of England. Thank you, Ferendune, with my whole heart. It is devastating when loved ones cognitively decline and knowing that they are being respectfully and kindly looked after is a gift during such a tender time.
My husband has been a resident in Ferendune Court for the last six months, during this time every effort has been made to help him settle in. I have found all members of staff to be kind and patient, often in challenging circumstances. They have always answered any of my queries or questions about my husband's care and made sure I am aware of any problems. Every effort is made to have weekly activities for all residents, as well as outings. Visitors are welcome at any time, which makes it easier for people to visit. On my personal experience I would recommend Ferendune Court to anyone.
Ferundune is his home and he doesn’t want to be anywhere else. This is an extremely happy home for all of its residents.
The staff are all so efficient, friendly and caring and nothing is too much trouble for them. Ferundune is 100% perfect from our perspective.
My mother recently moved to Ferendune from a private care home that was on the face of it better rated. However, looks can be deceiving! The standard of care offered is far superior. The staff are responsive and attentive, supporting us with any concerns we have with compassion and kindness.
Mum settled in with ease and enjoyed spending time with all service users, not just those who have a residency on the top "open" floor.
The activities were varied and she really benefitted from being kept busy! She would gladly come back again. We will certainly be booking another respite stay again in the near future.
As with most people, I guess we were nervous about using a care home as we had never done, so although the experience over the last two years at Ferundune Court has been nothing but positive. This is despite a substantial period affected by Covid restrictions. Always welcoming, and we felt our relative was being well cared for at all times. Plus, the weekly newsletter was welcome to get an insight into the many, many activities arranged by the staff for the residents. Recommended.
Really happy with how my mother has settled in and joined in with activities, enjoy seeing the pictures of all residents joining in. The staff and facilities are excellent.
The staff are helpful and friendly and Lovely and warm all the time. Mum looked after and very clean, mum is happy. Her washing is done and back quickly. the family are happy mum is happy.
Very impressed with the standard of care and the facilities available. Lots of activities to keep the residents stimulated. Staff are very attentive and 'go the extra mile' to be helpful and supportive. Food is of good quality and there is a choice available to suit all tastes. The management is constantly seeking improvement opportunities and welcomes feedback.
We are so delighted to see how well our loved one has settled into life at Ferendune Court. From their first day back in August until now we have seen their health, mind and physical fitness improve. This is all down to the staff and the care they have provided. Nothing has been too much for the staff and they have gone well beyond our expectations. We were able to decorate the room so that it felt like home and the communal areas are always clean and tidy. A massive thank you to all those involved in making this such a smooth transition.
Dad has just returned to Ferendune Court following a hip operation and all the staff were so warm and welcoming to dad on his return. The day he arrived was his birthday and they had even baked him a lovely cake. When leaving dad after a visit I always feel happy and completely at ease that he is being looked after and treated with dignity by all the staff.
Thank you for taking the time to review Ferendune Court and we are pleased you rate our care/support as excellent. Thank you for your kind feedback regarding our care, which I will make sure everyone is aware of. We enjoy celebrating special occasions with our residents and their loved ones and we are here to provide support and answer any questions regarding our care.
Amazing facilities, rooms, activities, staff etc. I would highly recommend this care home, it's clean, tidy and has a friendly welcoming atmosphere. The staff are professional, friendly and caring and will help with anything they can.
Thank you for taking the time to review Ferendune Court and we are pleased you rate our home excellent in all areas. We really appreciate your wonderful feedback regarding our care team and our home, which I will pass on to everyone. We work hard to make sure day to day life for our residents is as they wish and that our care is individually tailored to each person living at Ferendune Court.
Mum has been here for 18-months now and is very happy. She would like to have more activities to do. She loves the staff, who are very kind to her and make her happy.
Thank you for taking the time to review Ferendune Court, and we are pleased that you rate our overall experience as excellent. Thank you for your lovely comments regarding our team, which I will pass on. We have worked closely with your mum to support her with individual activities that she enjoys....
We cannot praise the wonderful staff enough at Ferendune. We had to find emergency respite for my mother in law who has dementia and was wandering. The team have gone above and beyond to help us as a family and we know that she is being so well looked after. They are now supporting Father in law to move in as he is missing her and although his needs are very different they’ve been so accommodating. All of the staff have made a very difficult situation so much easier! Thank you to each and everyone one of you.
Really impressed with the professionalism of all the staff team at Ferundune Court, very well run by the management and admin teams; excellent team leaders coordinating the shifts, very friendly and efficient carers, thoughtful and considerate housekeepers, plus home-cooked food every day. Furthermore, family members have also received very good support during difficult and testing circumstances. Thank you very much!
My mother was in Ferendune for four and a half years (together with my father for half a year). She suffered from dementia and so was on the dementia floor. All the staff were very caring and patient with her. From time to time her dementia made it difficult for her to come to terms with being in a home but most of the time she was happy and socialised well with the other residents. The home provides a lot of activities and events despite the limitations posed by the Covid lockdowns. She died while the visiting restrictions were in place but the staff were very helpful and we were able to see her the day before she went.
My father just wanted to go home after months of hospitalisation, but wasn’t physically or mentally strong enough. He then had a short stay in another residential home, an NHS covid funded bed, where he was very unhappy and things got no better. Ferendune were incredibly responsive in helping us find a better solution and planning a quick transfer out. The team at Ferendune helped him to gain strength and give me the time and confidence to make a return home possible. The care provided was excellent - he gained much-needed weight and became less confused. He was far happier and improved enough for me to get him home. He is really grateful for everything and so are we.
Due to Covid we're not able to dress her room as a family, but the home did a great job of settling her in and did the room nicely. They were excellent in all aspects of her care throughout her stay and made every effort to facilitate visits and contacts despite the restrictions. The care team have a great attitude and are dedicated friendly and helpful. I have no hesitation in recommending Fenendune Court and the Anchor group as our experience has been very positive!
I have not seen my mum since the beginning of lockdown as I work in a high risk environment; however, communication with the care home has been very good and I have no concerns that she is being looked after by capable, caring staff.
On the whole, mum is looked after well. The staff are polite and friendly, my mum is settled in well and thinks of this care home as her home. The only negative response I have is communication during these trying times with covid, visiting can be difficult. Better updates from the home would help. Have mentioned this last point to a member of staff.
Thank you for taking the time to review Ferendune Court and we are pleased that you rate our overall standard as very good. We have followed government guidelines in relation to our visiting policy to ensure the safety of visitors, our residents and our staff. We are in the process of finalising arrangements for indoor visits and we will update you regarding these.
