In two weeks my mum looks bright, healthy, clean and smiling like I’d not seen for a while. The staff care and the manager is clearly a ‘hands on’ manager, which for me, is very reassuring and she is passionate about what she does. I’ve also felt supported with acknowledgement of my own fears and distress at allowing my mum into a care home at this time. But I have been able to visit, and I do know my mum is safe and cared for in a way I could not do for her, and I know that the decision to go to Ferendune was the right one for all of us. I would advise anyone considering Ferendune to put your trust in them.
Ferendune Court put the care into care home. They have a great attitude to care and individuality. My dad was very happy there which was important to us.
My mother is well looked after. She seems happy to be in the home. The staff are good to her.
The overall care is very good. The carers are mostly kind and considerate. The food is generally OK but not always as good when agency staff fill in.
Thank you for your review, which we are pleased that you are likely to recommend Ferendune Court. We welcome regular feed back. Although we do use a small amount of agency in the kitchen at present, we have recruited into our vacant hours and are hopeful that we will have a full compliment of our...
Very friendly staff at all levels. Always welcoming and polite. It would be nicer if it were a little easier to actually get into the home, although I appreciate that security for residents is paramount. Maybe some kind of intercom system would help. Better feedback from team leaders/management needed if specific requests/concerns are raised.
Thank you for taking the time to review Ferendune Court and we are pleased that you are extremely likely to recommend us. We try and answer the door as quickly as possible however security for our residents and staff is paramount. If there are any matters that you would like us to discuss, we would be happy to do so at a mutually convenient time.
Sadly, his mental and physical health has deteriorated but the staff have reacted to his changing needs and take their lead from what his is or is not capable of doing.
Individual care is of a high quality, I would recommend Ferendune Court Care Home to anyone requiring support and care in a place of safety.
I find the staff very friendly and helpful.
Staff are friendly, home is clean and warm, gardens are available and entertainment available. Would like an update on general progress of resident.
Thank you for taking the time to review Ferendune Court and we are pleased that you are likely to recommend our home. Please, could you contact us to arrange a mutually convenient time to discuss your relative’s care and provide the information that you would like.
Great home and staff all lovely, really caring, nothing is ever a chore to the staff. Food is varied and tasty. Home is welcoming and clean.
Extremely happy with the care I am receiving. Since being in the home I am eating much better. I enjoy the company of the staff and the activities enable me to keep active.
Obviously it is a very sad experience for us with Mum having dementia. However, the nursing home enables us to rest assured that she has the best care that can be provided. Every member of staff puts so much effort into this. Team leaders have proved to be so helpful in enabling us to deal with this.
Mum seems to be very happy and settled in Ferendune Court. There is clear evidence of the new home manager's efforts to make improvements to the services being provided for the benefit of residents which is good to see. Staff seem to be very friendly and caring.
They are a team who are long-standing and it is obvious they enjoy their work.
The home is very clean and cared for. The bedroom I inspected was very clean and tidy. In my opinion, a home professionally managed by a great team. Looking forward to going again. All credit to you all.
I was very happy with the care my mother received at Ferendune Court. She had a lovely flat on the dementia floor where we could make ourselves a drink when visiting and we liked being able to take her out into the garden. The carers and housekeeping staff were always very friendly and helpful and we particularly enjoyed the organised activities where families could join in. Thank you to everyone at Ferendune for looking after her so well when we could no longer cope.
I can't praise the staff at Ferendune Court enough. They went the extra mile for us, nothing was too much trouble and was sympathetic to Dad's needs.
I would highly recommend Ferendune Court to anyone considering a care home.
Made my stay very pleasant.
Food good.
This care home has a lovely atmosphere. Modern, light interior. Very lovely, lovely garden. Nice accommodation. My mother had her own flat on the dementia friendly floor. She found it difficult to adjust but they bent over backwards to accommodate and support her. She lived there just over 18 months. We found all the staff caring and competent. In November my mother was admitted to hospital and then returned to Ferendune at her own request for palliative care for the last two weeks of her life. The care given to her was exceptional as was the support we were given as well.
The staff are brilliant! They always greet me with a smile, and their warmth and care of mum is evident. She told me, not long ago, that she loved living there because everyone treats her 'like a human being'. I often phone her or arrive to hear the sound of laughing between my mum and her carers, as they share a joke. I really couldn't be happier that mum is living at Ferendune Court - and more importantly, neither could she!
My eldest sister was a resident there for nearly two years and always said the staff were "very kind".
She gradually became severely demented and needed 24-hour care but when we visited (always unannounced) she always appeared to be clean, comfortable and with pain-free treatment when necessary.
My other sister is a resident there now and generally appears to be happy with always a good word to say about the members of staff.
When I and other family members visit we always get a good welcome.
The home always looks clean and smells fresh.
We never visit at meal times so unable to assess food, but there are plenty of drinks.
