Rachel Smith, who joined the Trust in 2020, is an Activities Coordinator at Isis House. She had previously worked as an Estate Agent and wanted a change in career. Sirlene began her career in the care sector as a carer at Glebe House in 2005 before transferring to Isis House in 2006. She has learned a great deal from the wisdom of the elderly and feels fortunate to have met many wonderful residents, as well as to have worked alongside dedicated and passionate colleagues.

She has launched a weekly Community Arts and Crafts Club, held every Monday afternoon from 2:15 pm to 3:15 pm, creating a vibrant space for expression and connection. Kase also holds a qualification in Digital Marketing and has previously worked with The Paint Club, where she discovered her love for teaching others to paint.
Her inspiration to work with older adults comes from personal experience—she shared a love of painting with her grandmother, who lived with vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s. This deepened her understanding of the therapeutic power of art.
Outside of work, Kase runs her own art business, creating and selling original paintings and prints. Art is at the heart of everything she does, and she’s excited to share her passion with the residents at Isis House.
