Isis Care and Retirement Centre is registered for eighty residents and offers a team of skilled and friendly carers, able to provide residential, early-stage dementia, respite and intermediate care.

Your fees cover several areas while in their care.
These services are: Personal care, accommodation,
utilities, use of communal areas, meals, drinks and
snacks, laundry (excluding dry cleaning),
housekeeping, maintenance and activities run by the
home.


Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
services at the time you request them.
They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
be paid for by yourself.

Sometimes you only realise how good something is when it's not there anymore. This is certainly true of Isis house. The dedication and professionalism of the staff carried out in a quiet, gentle and relaxed atmosphere was a joy to behold. Nothing was too much for them. Even when under pressure, they
never let it show to the residents. Thank you to all the team. We will miss you.

My brother has only resided here for three weeks but already seems happier and more comfortable than when at home. He has not yet joined in any of the numerous activities but is showing interest. I am sure he will join in very soon.

Fantastic place. Staff are brilliant, very attentive. Environment superb, very clean. Food absolutely wonderful. Mum is very well looked after in every way. I am so very happy!

Unfortunately, this is a difficult review to do because of Covid so I haven't really seen very much internally. I believe my husband is OK but with Parkinson's, it is difficult for him to show emotions. I would wish that there could be a home for Parkinson's people, as he is surrounded by residents
with dementia. He still has a working brain but not the body. Maybe staff could understand Parkinson's more.

Mum was first in Camelia wing after her discharge from the hospital and her experience there was lovely, calm, kind and with staff observing all Covid and other regulations and always attentive to her needs. Following her subsequent NHS discharge, she moved upstairs to Jasmine wing where again the nurses
and carers were great. All the family members who visited have great respect and gratitude for the work done by the team at Isis House.

A message for relatives and friends of temporary residents staying at Isis Care, under the NHS, in Camelia:-
If you want to visit someone, it is necessary to book an appointment well ahead, at least two days, and it has to be done using the reception phone number and in office hours. This information
is not accessible via the home's website and was only delivered to me gradually during a few phone calls.

On my arrival at Isis for respite care after spells in Hospital in Oxford following an injury where I recovered, I was welcomed and left alone in quietness with a cup of tea for some time, luggage unpacked. I felt frightened/intimidated as the carers stood at the end of the bed and seemed to tease me
as I tried to articulate something about my belongings.
After that, I experienced only kindness from the carers and I settled down and enjoyed good conversations with many of them, I had misunderstood some formerly.
Grateful to have laundry washed and ironed daily and given a Rollator.
The food was good, activities interesting and garden walks with carers including visits to Badger setts and I was grateful to be able to attend remotely a family thanksgiving service on a senior carers laptop. Also thankful to have visits from my family members and friends. I had a visit from a local GP
Noise/sleep; The thin walls and ceiling meant I could hear the noises from other residents and carers through walls and ceiling (the latter from patients on the floor above). This affected my sleep adversely.

Dad was only in the Isis Care and Retirement Centre for the last two weeks of his life and had to be in isolation for almost the entire time, therefore, I am unable to comment fully below. However, we were informed about his condition and medical treatment (permission for covid jab, anti-biotics no
longer taken, details of a fall) and we felt fully satisfied that dad's needs were met and he was safe. The staff were always friendly and sensitive during phone conversations.

My husband was within days of dying, so the RGN said I should not wait one week before visiting again. I, therefore, arranged to go three days later when the manager saw me in the hallway, fortunately after my visit. She told me brusquely I shouldn't have come as I'd also visited earlier the same week.
When I explained it had been arranged by the kind RGN
she said "we have many end-of-life patients like your husband, and I'm the
manager here" then stalked off. I was very shocked and upset. A
receptionist was witness to this conversation. The manager's attitude was
inexcusable, notwithstanding the Covid-19 situation. My husband sadly died three days later.

As I walked through the door I knew immediately that the Isis Care Home was where I wanted my Dad to live. We arrived without an appointment, they showed us around straight away. The carers treated my dad with loving care and attention, with dignity and compassion. Honeysuckle ward was extremely clean,
excellent food. The nurses are fantastic making sure he was comfortable unitl the very end, allowing me to sleep next to him for his last two nights, providing me with a reclining chair and anything I wished. Above and beyond. I will never forget them.

After my husbands stroke, I could no longer look after him at home. The Isis Care home provided my husband with the best care other than myself could have provided. I became very close to the carers. The work they do is incredible. They showed my husband respect and compassion, never losing his dignity.
The Honey Suckle ward is extremely clean and friendly. Individual carers and nurses going to exceptional lengths. A wonderful group of people.

Kelly-Marie

Kelly-Marie Allen

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2014

Kelly-Marie has been the Home Manager at Isis House since July 2025; previously, she was Home Manager at Longlands. She has over 15 years of experience in the care industry. She joined the Trust in 2014, having previously worked as a Care Coordinator in domiciliary care. Kelly-Marie has a QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care, and she is also a moving and handling trainer. Kelly-Marie completed her Level 5 in Leadership and Management in 2022 and is working towards her Level 7.


Kelly says, “I love my job, and love how no two days are ever the same. I am very proud of my team at Isis House; the residents are at the heart of everything we do in the home.”


In Kelly-Marie’s spare time, she spends with her three children and family. She also enjoys reading.

Hannah

Hannah Hussain

Job Title: Admin Assistant Joined: 2016

Hannah joined OSJCT in 2016 as a carer at Isis House Care Home, which gave her valuable insight into the care sector and confirmed her passion for a career in care. In 2018, she transitioned to an administrative assistant role, which she has now enjoyed for six years. She finds it fulfilling, as the role is always dynamic and offers opportunities for growth and development within the care sector.


Outside of work, Hannah enjoys spending time with family and friends. She is also a professional makeup artist and loves helping others by doing their makeup.

Rachel

Rachel Smith

Job Title: Activities Coordinator Joined: 2020

Rachel Smith, who joined the Trust in 2020, is an Activities Coordinator at Isis House. She had previously worked as an Estate Agent and wanted a change in career. Rachel loves bringing a smile to residents’ faces on a daily basis. Rachel feels her job is rewarding and challenging and goes home feeling she has made a difference to people’s lives. She said, “I love my job and I’m looking forward to spending many more years making a difference.”

Sirlene

Sirlene Heenan

Job Title: Admin Assistant Joined: 2005

Sirlene began her career in the care sector as a carer at Glebe House in 2005 before transferring to Isis House in 2006. Over the years, she has developed a deep passion for providing the best possible care for the elderly, which aligns with OSJCT’s ethos. She has learned a great deal from the wisdom of the elderly and feels fortunate to have met many wonderful residents, as well as to have worked alongside dedicated and passionate colleagues.


In 2015, Sirlene became an administration assistant at Isis House, a role she enjoys for the regular contact it provides with residents and their families. Originally from Brazil with a professional background in banking, she moved to the UK in 2003 with her English husband.


Outside of work, Sirlene enjoys traveling, reading, walking in nature, and tending to her plants.

Karishma (Kase)

Karishma (Kase) Chauhan

Job Title: Activity Coordinator Joined: 2025

Kase joined the Trust in April 2025 as an Activity Coordinator at Isis House. She graduated from the University of Bolton in 2020 with a First-Class BA (Hons) in Fine Art. Kase brings her creativity and passion for art to her role, using her skills to develop engaging arts and crafts activities for residents.


She has launched a weekly Community Arts and Crafts Club, held every Monday afternoon from 2:15 pm to 3:15 pm, creating a vibrant space for expression and connection. Kase also holds a qualification in Digital Marketing and has previously worked with The Paint Club, where she discovered her love for teaching others to paint.


Her inspiration to work with older adults comes from personal experience—she shared a love of painting with her grandmother, who lived with vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s. This deepened her understanding of the therapeutic power of art.


Outside of work, Kase runs her own art business, creating and selling original paintings and prints. Art is at the heart of everything she does, and she’s excited to share her passion with the residents at Isis House.
