Mill House is a Witney care and nursing accommodation set up in a renovated period home, where residents enjoy a modern care service with their own care packages and activities programme. The home provides residential and nursing care.

Together with attractive gardens and a conservatory, Mill House has its own library, offering residents a wide range of personal choice in terms of how they spend their days.

An activities coordinator plans a busy schedule, though participation remains optional, allowing residents to take part in daily events in the home as well as frequent excursions beyond it.

The dietary and cultural needs of service users are well-respected, with refreshments available throughout the day and night and carers making regular checks on residents' needs. Meals are prepared onsite by trained chefs who provide a varied daily menu. Special diets can be catered for.

A dear family friend was admitted to Mill House Nursing Home for palliative care. We were very impressed by the exceptional care that he received during his final months, kind, caring, respectful and professional. Also for the compassion and way his friends were treated after our friend had passed away,
by all of the team at Mill House. Thank you.

The loving care, kindness and concern shown to my Grampy and the whole family was amazing. I know it was very difficult caring for my Grampy because of his needs but the team at Mill House Nursing Home always made every effort to make him comfortable.

I was welcomed with kindness and understanding. During my week stay, I was looked after well and all my needs were met. This was despite the fact that the staff were incredibly overworked.

Very impressed when first entering the building as it looks rundown from the front.
Staff are very friendly and caring.
Felt my partner was very well cared for.
Didn't worry about leaving him in their care.

My mother has been here since March, so far the care has been very good, the majority of the staff are wonderful. The activities coordinators have made me very welcome to attend some of the parties they've put on and they work very hard for the residents, even though most seem like they're not interested
they carry on and encourage everyone to join in.

Excellent care at all times, wonderful entertainment every day. Mother does more now than when she was at home. Staff always happy and smiley, always happy to help. Mother still goes to the garden centre, lovely hairdressers. Great to see Mum's hair looking nice. Thank you all.

I have been very happy with the care my husband has received at Mill House. The staff are very welcoming and go out of their way to help. They are very good at sorting out any problems as soon as possible. They always have a smile on their faces. They do an excellent job of trying to interest people
in arts and crafts. They bring special occasions to life by decorating and entertaining.

The staff that we met were very friendly and helpful. Mum seemed more settled than in her previous residential care home. The older building means that rooms were not over spacious but everything was there that was needed.

My father only had days to live, the staff were truly amazing, kind, heartwarming and made his last days as comfortable as they could. They were also kind to us in our hours of need. I would recommend this nursing home 100%.

My mother was a resident at Mill House Nursing Home for ten years and in all that time was treated with dignity, patience and kindness. She was always well fed, kept clean and warm. The staff were always friendly, kind and helpful to me and very considerate of my mother's beliefs. In her early days
at the home, at times, she could be sharp but the staff always handled these occasions with kindness. I thank them for the kindness and care given over the very long time that she was with them.

Mum was only at Mill House for a few weeks, however as a family we were very happy with the care that Mum received. The staff are very hard working and do everything they can to provide high quality care. The staff treated Mum with dignity and respect during her final weeks. All of the staff from front
of house, admin, kitchen, cleaners, maintenance, care assistants and nurses are very professional, hard working and caring. I would not hesitate to recommend Mill House to someone who needed a nursing home. Thank you for all the hard work.

Our mother was in Mill House for just under 2 years and in that time the whole family was made to feel as though it was her home. The staff were always welcoming to us and caring and compassionate to Mum, right to the end of her life. The activities on offer always looked as though they were fun and
we regret that Mum wasn't well enough to participate in these.

On our first visit when we were looking for a home for my aunt, we immediately found the staff very happy, welcoming and friendly and it was extremely clean and tidy.
Once my aunt was admitted, her care was excellent. The staff looked after her very well and always kept us well informed. With the food
also being of a very high standard. They also encouraged her to join in with the activities where possible. We would highly recommend the home to anyone. The staff, from top to bottom, were excellent and could not be faulted.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.909)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.909) out of 10 for Mill House Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.909 for Mill House Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (212 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 232 Ratings = 4.909
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Mill House Nursing Home is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 34 registered maximum number of service users is 6.8, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
