My mother was a resident at Mill House Nursing Home for ten years and in all that time was treated with dignity, patience and kindness. She was always well fed, kept clean and warm. The staff were always friendly, kind and helpful to me and very considerate of my mother's beliefs. In her early days at the home, at times, she could be sharp but the staff always handled these occasions with kindness. I thank them for the kindness and care given over the very long time that she was with them.

Mum was only at Mill House for a few weeks, however as a family we were very happy with the care that Mum received. The staff are very hard working and do everything they can to provide high quality care. The staff treated Mum with dignity and respect during her final weeks. All of the staff from front of house, admin, kitchen, cleaners, maintenance, care assistants and nurses are very professional, hard working and caring. I would not hesitate to recommend Mill House to someone who needed a nursing home. Thank you for all the hard work.

Our mother was in Mill House for just under 2 years and in that time the whole family was made to feel as though it was her home. The staff were always welcoming to us and caring and compassionate to Mum, right to the end of her life. The activities on offer always looked as though they were fun and we regret that Mum wasn't well enough to participate in these.

On our first visit when we were looking for a home for my aunt, we immediately found the staff very happy, welcoming and friendly and it was extremely clean and tidy.

Once my aunt was admitted, her care was excellent. The staff looked after her very well and always kept us well informed. With the food also being of a very high standard. They also encouraged her to join in with the activities where possible. We would highly recommend the home to anyone. The staff, from top to bottom, were excellent and could not be faulted.

I was very pleased with the care that my brother-in-law received during his residence at Mill House. At all times the staff were attentive to his needs, ensuring that he was comfortable and safe. The home itself is very smart and well-run, and all the members of staff whom I met were extremely friendly. I recommend it without reservation.

Made very welcome, every one of the staff very friendly and caring towards my mum and myself. Communication is excellent, carers go above and beyond to help and care.

I don't have to worry when I'm not there I am at peace and know that MUm has the best care and is being well looked after. I have become a daughter again, not a carer.

My mother had to stay at Mill House while we were getting district nurse care back at home. From the moment I walked in to bring her stuff over I was greeted with genuine kindness of all the staff from administration, reception, housekeeping, maintenance, nursing staff and the carers. The building is lovely. Her room was beautifully presented, light and welcoming.

My mother was helped by one of the entertainment team to walk daily and really looked after with such empathy and patience. I joked to my mum they’ve made a mistake it’s a boutique hotel not a care home. Mum’s stay was only a few weeks but I would say to anyone who is looking for care of an elderly person that the staff were just genuinely lovely, enjoying the job that they were doing and wanting the best for their residents. I was shown such kindness as well as it has been a very stressful time. I think the team at Mill House are amazing. I can’t thank you enough.

My sister has settled in well at Mill House Nursing Home. She is attending all the activities on offer and enjoying the company of other residents and staff. I can see that her personal care, physical needs and emotional needs are met by genuine, caring staff. They helped to organise video calls with our brother in New Zealand, and my sister was thrilled.

Mum has been content at Mill House for two years since she first came here as a resident.
All staff have shown a caring and compassionate nature in their care of Mum and have encouraged her to engage in the daily activities.

Having nursing staff for 24 hours a day has provided us with the reassurance that Mum is safe and well.

Would highly recommend this care home, the staff are so helpful, show care and empathy for this awful situation we are in due to Covid. My mum is happy which is the most important thing. The nursing staff phone with regular updates, the activities team make a real effort keeping in contact via FaceTime. Even the chefs in the car park are able to make an effort to smile and talk. The administration staff have been absolutely wonderful helping with all paperwork.

Mum has had excellent service whilst at Mill House, the staff at every level have been great in dealing with everything, and really importantly helping me to understand what to do to make sure my mother is happy even down to helping me get the right newspapers delivered. I have really appreciated this and I am thankful to them for this. Would highly recommend.

We were worried that mum wouldn't settle when she first moved in, however, everyone made her so welcome. Mum loves joining in the activities and gained her love for life back. Covid has made visiting difficult bu the staff have done an amazing job in keeping everyone safe.

My mother died at the Mill House on 9th May 2020.

You have something very special in Mill House Nursing Home. The staff have been outstanding in their care and kindness shown to my mother. She frequently mentioned this to me during my visits. As the home is a relatively small scale establishment, there is a strong feeling of community. The cleaning staff are also kind and considerate, the food provided excellent. The office staff are dedicated, helpful and reliable. My mother had many favourites among the staff, with good reason. Despite her disability due to her earlier stroke, the carers and nursing staff played an important part in keeping up her spirits, treating her with dignity and good humour. Near the end of her life, I myself witnessed extra efforts that were made to make her as comfortable as possible. The nursing and personal care she received were exemplary; I cannot praise your wonderful staff highly enough.
