Very clean and excellent after the revamp.
My husband was transferred from hospital for end of life care at Mill House and the care he received was second to none. The staff at all levels were amazing - caring, yet professional. This care was also extended to me as I spend a lot of time at his bedside. Our family, when visiting their dad, were also treated in the same way.
The visits out stay in her mind.
Dad was given a few weeks to a couple of months to live when he came here. We have had an extra 7 years, thanks to all the fantastic staff here. As his life appears to be ending, you are all so kind and compassionate to me and him, just a heartfelt Thank You.
Such a lovely place for my mum with lots going on. The carers are always polite and kind to both my mum and family members. She now eats extremely well with lots of choices on the menu. She loves the outings and the singers that are often in. I would highly recommend all the carers, management team and the lovely homely environment.
Everything was superb - no faults.
A thoroughly delightful welcome given to a new resident.
Friendly welcome. I was made to feel at ease with tea on arrival and was shown around. Excellent staff. Room option very helpful. Activities well explained. Meals explained. Overall top service. Little touches, eg flowers in the toilets. Informal talks with staff with no airs and graces was lovely and down to earth.
My mother was a resident at Mill House for 6 weeks and I have always found the management and staff very polite, friendly and courteous. Very good attention to detail and always observant and aware of needs. Keen sense of humour, laughter is plentiful a sound we love to hear. Mill House kept my mother safe and happy with a personal touch money can't buy.
Mill House is a very friendly home. The staff are always helpful and friendly. It's very clean, bright and the residents are well cared for. There seems to be lots of activities for the residents to enjoy.
High standard of care for the patient.
Staff were amazing with the patient, speaking kindly and offering support and encouraging words.
Clean and tidy facilities.
Friendly staff.
Supportive staff throughout the final stages of life.
Caring staff and supportive to all family, including children.
It was so lovely to see all the team having fun with the residents. Keep up the good work.
I've been to see my friend today and again I was welcomed with smiles and happiness. I am so pleased that my friend is staying at Mill House. Well done all for everything you have and are doing.
We are so delighted that you rate Mill House Excellent in all areas. Our team work hard to ensure the happiness of all the residents and will be delighted to see your review of the home. Thank you.
My experience of Mill House is one of excellent care and nursing. A home that truly cares and in such a homely environment. I would say the best nursing home in town.
The menu for food was very well balanced for their needs.
My mother has been in the home for nearly a year. When admitted she was able to partake in activities and enjoyed them. Since then, following a stroke and increased dementia she can no longer do these. The staff are excellent with her, she's always clean and seems relatively happy and the staff advise on how she is progressing.
I volunteer with my two dogs, Peggy and Mario, and we visit on a bi-weekly basis. I have always been impressed with the level of care and compassion of the staff. Always with a smile and a kind word. All residents are treated well and are clean and in good spirits. Lots of activities and social gatherings. The dogs and I always enjoy our visits!
My wife was taken into Mill House due to our care company pulling out. I cannot say thank you to the staff enough from the humble kitchen porters, through to the manager. The staff have made my wife feel like she was a person and have been very supportive in both her welfare and needs. Once again a big, big thank you to all the staff in this brilliant home.
The new manager continues to make improvements to the home, surroundings and all round well being of the residents, promoting a very happy atmosphere. At the end of my visits I leave knowing that my mother is in very good hands.
I find it easy to discuss my mother's care with relevant staff and any concerns are dealt with immediately and efficiently. All staff show great dedication to their work.
Thank you for your positive comments about our home, its great to hear how pleased you are with the care your Mother is receiving here at Mill House. Nicki started working in Health and Social Care as a qualified Nurse in 1986. She worked on the Ophthalmology ward, ENT and ran outpatient clinics at St Georges Hospital in London. When Nicki moved to Oxfordshire, she worked as an agency nurse and discovered how much she enjoyed working in Nursing Homes. When she isn’t working, Nicki enjoys long country walks with her dogs, competitive cycling and climbing mountains such as Snowdon!
Words of encouragement from Nicki for someone looking for the right home would be: “It’s not the place, it’s the people that make a home. It has to feel warm, welcoming and comfortable.”
