For us, as much as the grounds, the building, and the location have a tranquillity about them, it's the team at Ashley Park that stood out during my grandmother's stay this year. From the minute we walked in the door (my mother went every day for 3.5 months), we were greeted with compassion and great care. The front-of-house team went above and beyond to be gentle, kind, sensitive, and above all, mindful of the circumstances. My grandmother sadly had a harrowing end-of-life experience, and the doctors, nurses, carers, and management team took so much care of her it brought us all some peace. My grandmother repeatedly said, "they take such good care of me; they are so good to me", despite her pain and extenuating circumstances. We hold the entire team at Ashley Park, including external agency nurses specializing in end-of-life care, in the highest regard and with the utmost respect. We would recommend Ashley Park without hesitation.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us such kind words. We are glad to have been able to help you and your family through such a difficult time, providing your Grandmother with the utmost "gentle" and "sensitive" care, as you described. We will certainly pass your comments on to the manager, and we hope you can go away from this experience knowing she received the best possible care.
Ashley Park cared for my late father for many years. Through this time, the manager and her magnificent team, looked after dad with patience and compassion, always respecting him as an individual and maintaining his dignity throughout his declining health. I will always be grateful to Ashley Park. Thank you all.
We appreciate the time you have taken to leave this review. It is wonderful to hear words such as "compassion" and "patience" being used to describe the care both the manager and her team provided for your Dad. We hope you can go away from this and find peace knowing he received the best care possible.
My mother, who is 94, was at Ashley Park for a month to convalesce after a spell in hospital. The care home is run extremely efficiently by the management team and all the nurses and carers were very kind and helpful to my mother. She felt very safe and well looked after and was visited by a GP once a week, which was reassuring. Her room was large and bright and had a lovely view of the gardens which, as she got stronger, we were able to walk in and enjoy the autumn sunshine. When visiting, my sister, brothers and I were always made very welcome and the staff took the time to talk to us about how our mother was progressing. My thanks go to all the staff who looked after my mother so well.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your mother in our care, and that she felt at ease in the home also. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one has cared for and looked after. Hopefully you will...
I was invited to attend a "Silver" lunch last Sunday. The lunch was good and the wine went down well! After lunch, we were entertained by a really good keyboard sing-along. I especially enjoyed watching the residents singing along. Some of them I have never heard speak before! They were all really engaged with the activity and obviously enjoyed it. Thank you so much for inviting me.
Thank you for your feedback. We are happy you enjoyed the Silver Sunday event. It was a really lovely afternoon, thank you for joining us.
Mum (now 99) has been a permanent resident in Ashley Park since December 2021. My wife and I are regular visitors and find the staff welcoming and extremely helpful, with any queries or concerns being answered promptly. The combination of the more traditional and well-proportioned building and the extensive grounds - with an amazing range of wildlife - make for a calm and peaceful experience. Food is varied and well-prepared with individual requests catered for, laundry is efficiently processed and GP advice is available whenever it's needed. With new staff now in place, the activities programme has revitalised and offers a good range of things to take part in. Mum's overall experience has been very positive and she is content.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your Mum in our care and it is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make Mum's stay as comfortable as possible and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
Mum was made to feel very welcome during her recent respite stay at Ashley Park. All the staff were attentive to her individual needs and although a non-permanent resident, they ensured she felt a part of the home throughout. There was a good range of activities on offer each week and Mum enjoyed participating in these. The home has a calm atmosphere and is set in beautiful grounds, although Mum was unable to take full advantage of these due to her limited mobility and the need for some assistance when outdoors. Mum had a large room but the ensuite bathroom was difficult for her to manage, in particular the steps and the difficulty posed by having to stand at the handbasin when washing. Overall, we can recommend Ashley Park for a short respite stay and thank all the staff for their care during Mum's time with them.
We appreciate you taking the time to write us a review. We are so glad that we were able to provide your Mum with the care she needed at that time. Thank you for your recommendation.
I visited Ashley Park Care Home recently and was pleasantly surprised by the splendour of the home. The staff made my wife and I feel very welcomed and the residents appeared contented. I would encourage anyone to visit.
Thank you for your feedback. We look forward to welcoming you for another visit soon.
Ashley Park Care Home took in my mother and father with a combined age of 189. They were both delighted with the light airy surroundings, the bedroom facilities and the wonderful garden with views across to the North Downs. The care staff made the transition very smooth and they both settled in well. Thanks.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are glad to hear Ashley Park Care Home did everything possible to make the transition as easy as possible. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your mother and father's stay as comfortable as possible.
My 96-year-old mother-in-law spent 18 months at Ashley Park, always said how happy she was to be there and particularly commented on the good food. She died peacefully in her own bed, having been well looked after by the local visiting GP. The standard of nursing and caring is high. It is a lovely building with beautiful grounds to enjoy in the summer.
We are saddened to hear about the loss of your Mother-in-Law. We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. It is lovely to hear you felt at ease with your Mother-in-Law in our care at Ashley Park.
Mum has been a permanent resident in Ashley Park Care Home for 6 months, having become too frail to continue living independently. She has settled in well and is comfortable and content in her well-proportioned room. The lovely grounds are a great benefit as she sees a wide range of bird life close to her window, including the majestic peacock! Mum enjoys the food and it is such a relief to see her well fed. She has a very active mind and really appreciates the range of interesting and sometimes quite challenging activities on offer. The staff are friendly and clearly very caring, creating a family atmosphere and preserving the dignity and individuality of residents. GP assistance is readily accessible when required. From our point of view, we and wider family members over 3 generations are always welcome visitors.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are happy to hear that your Mum is enjoying the lovely wildlife she can see in the grounds and also the varied activities available. Thank you again for your kind words.
The home has character and the staff are very caring and friendly. It has been a tough couple of years with the pandemic and I am glad that life is starting to get back to normal. The home has large grounds and plenty of space to move around, I always enjoy visiting.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. It certainly has been a challenging time with the pandemic but hopefully, things will continue to ease. We are glad to hear that you enjoy visiting, we look forward to seeing you again soon.
This home has some lovely carers who clearly have a vocation to serve the vulnerable. The house and grounds are beautiful and the food is very good. As a close family member, I've found elements of it, however, quite stressful. Whilst I recognise that Covid-19 has placed considerable burdens on care homes, there are issues that we feel need to be addressed. Chief amongst these have been that it's often a real struggle to get staff to answer the front door when you call; there's a large turnover of staff (most of whom are agency staff) which is difficult for our relative who feels that, as soon as he gets used to one carer, they are leaving and another arrives; whilst some staff are very friendly and welcoming, we've found others less so. On balance, we feel it does fall short of the very high standards that Bupa strives to reach, and the top prices Bupa charges.
Thank you for your comments, I will certainly pass this on to the management team for you. Most of our staff are permanent employees, however we do use agency staff to ensure the home is staffed to appropriate levels. If you have any further concerns please speak to one of our management team or our Quality Team on 0113 3604832.
We cannot thank the team enough for the care they provide to our relative. You can tell they genuinely care and do their best to accommodate. They treat the elderly with respect and the home is always looking and smelling clean. It is the small things that matter.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are glad to hear that you find our staff respectful and caring. Thank you again for your kind words.
Ashley Park is a beautiful home in lovely surroundings. The staff are consistently caring, and the nursing staff in particular go out of their way to communicate with us when there is even the slightest problem. My mother has been at Ashley Park for three years and we feel very content with her care, not least because she may be demanding at times. The food is good and the staff take extra time to feed my mother who has swallowing issues. Occasionally we feel that we are asked to supply things that might be supplied by the home, in view of the level of fees. Ashley Park is very expensive, but, of course, operating in a very expensive part of the country and doing a good job at retaining excellent staff.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your mother's stay as comfortable as possible.
I am grateful to all the staff at Ashley Park. It is a lovely place to be and it’s the team who make it special for all of the residents. Thank you for everything that you do it is much appreciated.
Thank you for your lovely feedback. We are happy to hear you feel like a part of our Ashley Park family.
Thank you for your outstanding care of my mother at the end of her life. All of the staff without exception were compassionate, kind, caring and treated my mum with respect. She really could not have had better care. Thank you all.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review, We are sorry for your loss please take our condolences. We are glad to help you and your family through such a difficult time, Hopefully you will go away from this feeling like your Mother received the best possible care.
Both my parents are at Ashley Park. My Dad suffered a stroke and needed to be in a nursing home. My mum could not manage on her own at home and wanted to be with him. The staff and management have been excellent with them both even though it hasn't been easy for mum to adjust to her new situation. I find the home homely and welcoming and my parents particularly like the gardens and views to look out on. The staff show compassion and kindness and it's good to see the same friendly faces. The activity room and activity staff are excellent in providing something for the residents to engage in morning and afternoon. Mum and Dad like the activities as it breaks the day up. The chef has been helpful in trying to find foods mum can eat due to her teeth. I feel relief that they are in safe hands and being looked after.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are glad to have been able to help you and your family through such a difficult period of adjustment. We are happy to hear that your parents are now settled and happy in our care. Please let us know if there is anything more we can do to make them both as comfortable as possible.
The carers, nurses and management have been outstanding! Not to forget the cooks and the cleaners who also play a huge part in keeping the home running. Although I have not been able to try the food myself, I have been told on many occasions that it is delicious! Words cannot express how grateful I am to all the staff at Ashley Park Care Home. Last year demonstrated how strong and committed the team is, I cannot thank you all enough.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your friend in our care. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care.
It’s my second time staying at Ashley Park for respite and I have had another excellent experience. I would recommend the home to my friends. I am limited to what foods I can eat due to my teeth but overall I have found the food to be excellent. The staff and management always make me feel welcome.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your lovely review. Thank you for choosing us to care for you and please let us know if you ever need us again.
Mum was only at Ashley Park for a short period of time, but the manager and clinical services manager were superb. They communicated with us in a caring and compassionate way, and nothing at all was too much trouble. All other staff were kind, caring, helpful and very thoughtful. Mum was very happy for the time that she spent there. She enjoyed everyone's company and was looked after lovingly. I was very impressed indeed. A member of staff in the central office was superb and the managers were simply magnificent throughout. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Ashley Park to anyone who was thinking of finding a care home for a dear and very close relative.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is always nice to hear words like “Kind, thoughtful and magnificent” being used to describe our staff. Hopefully, you will go away from this feeling like your loved one received the best possible care. Thank you for your recommendation.
