Ashley Park located near Guildford provides nursing, residential, palliative, Parkinson's and convalescence care. The home offers both long-term and short-stay care.

Residents can stay for a few weeks, a month or for however long their loved one needs support. They’ll get to relax and meet new friends, giving complete peace of mind. The home has a dedicated respite room that can be booked up to a year in advance, the staff is happy to accept last-minute requests too.

Originally a nineteenth-century listed building, the home has been expertly modernised to provide a range of excellent facilities. The large landscaped gardens with patio areas, orchard, raised flower beds and lawns can be enjoyed by residents alongside a sensory garden and greenhouse.

Most bedrooms have en-suite facilities, flat-screen TVs and most offer views of the gorgeous grounds, seven acres of stunning Surrey countryside.

Meals are freshly prepared every day by the home’s onsite chef and menus can be tailored to the tastes and preferences of each resident. Residents have the choice of dining in the dining room or in their own room if preferred.

A varied activity programme aims to find activities to suit all interests and levels of mobility. A painting club, poetry group and calm exercise classes and quizzes are just a few of the activities available.

The location is good for access from A3 near east Guildford and in elegant surroundings. The staff are well organised, efficient and courteous. My mother reports that the food is good. She is always warm and is allowed to maintain her own routine. Because of lockdown, no comments can be recorded about
layout and general cleanliness of the home.

The care and love given to my Nan whilst she was at Ashley Park was outstanding.
She went there under circumstances none of us predicted but I couldn’t have been happier that she spent her last months there and neither could she. The staff quickly became friends and more like an extended family to
her, always by her side and there when she needed, never failing to help with nothing being too much of an ask. The staff and the home itself are both beautiful inside and out and it became a second home to me whilst I was there pretty much every day and I would recommend it to anyone thinking of a home for a loved one. Ashley Park has character and charm and the cosy and warm feelings you need to make a place home. Once you have seen it for yourself you won’t want to go anywhere else!

My mother has been placed in this home for limited life care. The staff have been excellent and work tirelessly as far as I can see. I have been a little disappointed with what I consider to be a lack of resourcing, however, eg the phone lines are poor. The staff mentioned this at the start but nothing
has been done to improve this. I would also have thought that more than 2 Ipads could have been provided so that residents have more opportunity for video calling during lockdown. Seems line profit comes first though.

My Dad spent a few months at Ashley Park at the end of last year and beginning of this year. The staff were so friendly and helpful and you couldn’t ask for a nicer location! It really felt like a home away from home.

Staff have been extremely kind, caring and patient with both my ageing parents throughout lockdown. They both say the food is excellent and the ‘family’ feel, the activities and general ambience makes them comfortable and ‘at home’. Sadly, my father died at the end of September but thanks to Ashley
Park, he maintained much independence, his dignity and was even able to enjoy the sunshine during his last day - all things I know he valued highly. Their handling of his death and ensuing comfort/support for my mother during this time was exemplary and it helped her, family and friends to know she was so well cared for. Thank you.

My mother-in-law has been at Ashley Park for nearly six years and my father-in-law was there before that. It is like a home from home for me and the rest of the family. The staff are wonderful and treat my mother-in-law with love and respect. The management must be doing something right because staff
stay and some have been there for well over ten years. They have managed to keep Covid out of Ashley Park and I am confident they will continue to do so. The family have been able to keep in touch with my mother-in-law through face time, which is facilitated by the staff and now I am able to safely visit once a fortnight. The staff have done everything possible to maintain contact between residents and families and I am very grateful for their care.

Ashley Park Care Home is very well suited to my needs. I am fairly independent with dressing and washing but have trouble getting around with crutches. The care staff are well versed in my needs and are very attentive. The management is good and deal well with any problems. The activities are excellent
and varied to suit different abilities. The gardens are lovely but need more than part-time work. The food is plentiful but could do much better when the agency staff takes over. It is either too sloppy or too dry. A big disappointment is no dry cleaning and was forced to buy new clothes to enable the washing machine.

The manager and all the staff were excellent. Mum felt so at home for the respite stay, food again excellent and the facilities. I was able to have respite from mum and have no worries. Very caring/relaxed atmosphere. I would like to stay myself. 5 stars.
I would recommend this care home, and if my
mum in the future needed to go into a home this would be my only choice of care home (full time).

Mum had been discharged from hospital whilst we were still looking for a care home. She was unable to care for herself, limited mobility and living alone. We visited Ashley Park we liked it straight away; friendly, calm, cosy and safe. They offered to see mum straight away, were amazing with us and
her (we were all highly emotional) and said they could take her immediately - the relief. They looked after her needs and went out of their way. I can't thank them enough. Everyone was so kind. Amazing.

My mother died on the 15th February having been in Ashley Park for 9 1/2 years.

Throughout this time she was totally dependent on the staff for all her needs. She was cared for in a very loving way by thoughtful, friendly and respectful staff who all consistently maintained the highest standards.

My father was admitted to Ashley Park Care Home on Christmas Eve. We wished him to be close by so we could visit him often. The staff could not have been more thoughtful and helpful, they looked after the whole family. We were always warmly welcomed and seeing everyone enjoying Christmas together was
lovely and laughter was heard often. I could not have wished for more for my father and he was treated with respect and dignity and kept as comfortable as he could be. Thank you to you all.

My father has now been at Ashley Park for some months and I would like to commend the team there for their incredible care, cheerfulness, willingness, friendliness, expertise and professionalism.
Led by the manager, everyone, including carers, nurses, chefs/cooks, entertainers, administrators, receptionists
and support staff, show the same sense of real care and consideration for the residents.
The manager sets an excellent example by being professional, yet very approachable and deeply caring - nothing is too much trouble and he will always ensure that if something needs to be done it is done.
In addition the home itself has bags of character, with great grounds and lovely views over the fields to the Downs - it is like staying at a good Country House hotel, but with the added peace of mind of having proper nursing care. I really could not ask for a better home for my dad.
Thank you to everyone at Ashley Park, your care is appreciated very, very much!

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.859)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.859) out of 10 for Ashley Park Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 17 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.934 for Ashley Park Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (185 Excellents x 5) + (13 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 198 Ratings = 4.934
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.925 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ashley Park Care Home is based on 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.925
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 17 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
