Nestled within the quiet surroundings of Walton-on-Thames, Adelaide House care home offers personalised residential and nursing care to older people.

With sitting rooms and space for residents to pursue their hobbies and interests, Adelaide House has a host of places in which to relax, dine, exercise, socialise and be creative. My mum has been a resident for 14 months at Adelaide House. It is the most wonderful place, and I have never seen her happier; she is so settled. We have both been supported in every way possible. This is an exceptional care home and I would highly recommend.

My father has only been here for a few weeks, but already seems at home. The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful and are open to any suggestions we may have. The home is clean and the food is fresh and tasty.

The care that my grandfather-in-law has received in the last 6 months has been of the most compassionate that I have witnessed. Even during some challenging moments, I have felt full support from the care staff, as has my GF in law. Nothing has been too much to ask and any requests have been acknowledged

My mum's life has improved significantly since she's moved to Adelaide House. She is stimulated, has a sense of purpose and energy for life again. Since Dad moved in, I have found all staff friendly and caring. Nurses are knowledgeable and easy to approach with concerns. They provide great activities and listens to residents suggestions. Home is clean and maintained. Food is of a good quality even though my dad is fussy.

From day one I had a good feeling about Adelaide house. Everyone is very friendly and very accommodating to my mum's needs. The activities are really good, and there is always something going on. The home let us hold a baby shower a few months ago and they went out of their way to help us, so it was

My mother has been at Adelaide House for 18 months now. Everybody working here is very kind and helpful. They always work with a smile on their faces. As my mother is bed bound everything can be challenging but there are no problems and all tasks are taken on readily.

The staff are all professional, helpful and polite. My mum went through a very traumatic time before moving to the home but she has been treated very well in the time she has spent here. The menus seem nutritional and varied. Overall, I couldn't wish for my mum to be anywhere else.

The staff have always been friendly and helpful, they are very attentive with my dad and treat him with respect and dignity. My dad has a lot of appreciation for the staff due to how well he is looked after and cared for. The only complaint he has is that the food is not always to his liking but overall
the home is excellent. In my opinion, there are plenty of options for meals and the food looks great. I am happy with the care my dad receives and grateful he has such a nice environment to live in.

The interaction with the events coordinators is excellent. The medical support is excellent. The food seems quite variable, sometimes good, sometimes poor. Maybe a chair in the rooms would be good so they don't have to be in bed all the time, if safe.

Regarding the suggestion for a chair in the rooms, we can assure you that all residents do have a chair in their room but we appreciate your input and will assess the feasibility and safety of additional seating options to enhance comfort for visitors. Sometimes we have recommendations from specialist services and they may suggest a resident should have limited time sitting and to rest in bed for periods of time. We do always try to encourage residents out of bed whenever possible as we recognize this is of benefit to their physical and mental health. During his career in the health and care sector, Slawomir has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people to enrich their lives. He is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for residents.


Talking about how he began his career, Slawomir says:


“I was originally supposed to be a banker in my home country of Poland but didn’t love finance and decided to try something different. I started as a carer in 2005, fell in love with the profession and have never looked back.”


Having now worked in the care sector for many years, Slawomir closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every resident. He extends this caring approach to his colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what he enjoys most about his role, Slawomir remarked:


“I love my work, I describe it as my calling, and could not imagine my life any other way. Every day is different and small things lead to huge differences in the lives of my residents.”


Outside of work, Slawomir enjoys a range of hobbies, spending time with his family, travelling and living life to the fullest.
