My aunt was a resident for 3 years, in that time she was really well cared for by excellent staff. I think she was very fortunate to be placed in Adelaide House when she became incapable of looked after herself.

We would like to thank all the staff for making our dad feel amazing whilst here. The activities and family days are always well organised and entertaining for everyone. There is always a space for me and my family to visit when we come. We are always offered teas and coffees. Amazing atmosphere for
Dad to be living in! Thank you!

We could not be happier with Adelaide House for our family members. My father-in-law is really happy here. He came here in bad health from another care home, and he has been making great progress whilst here. He is stronger and happier than he has been in years. The food is always great quality, and
the family feel that the home is lovely. We wouldn't want him anywhere else! Thank you.

Mother has been a resident just over a year and myself and my sister have noticed a big change in both her physical and mental health.
This is due to the wonderful team looking after her, and we are so grateful to have found this home for her.

Dad has been at the home for 3 years and he has always had exceptional care and support from the staff. He has been treated with care and compassion, and with respect. For my dad's birthday, the staff went above and beyond and made it an extra special day. I am always well informed and updated about
what is going on and the staff communicate well. The Christmas party was great and well catered. Overall, I would say the home is excellent.

The staff are absolutely amazing, caring, and welcoming to all their patients, families and friends. If I have to go into a care home, this would be my first choice. I can not fault any of the staff, they would all get a 5 star rating from me.

My father, who was admitted in June, spent his final days at Adelaide House. He was compassionately cared for by all the staff. The family wish to pay special gratitude to Archie, who kept us informed and gave us a sense of safety and support, especially in Dad's final days. We will always be grateful.

The care that my grandfather-in-law has received in the last 6 months has been of the most compassionate that I have witnessed. Even during some challenging moments, I have felt full support from the care staff, as has my GF in law. Nothing has been too much to ask and any requests have been acknowledged
and arranged where possible. Thank you.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.816)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.816) out of 10 for Adelaide House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 47 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 47 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.816 for Adelaide House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (468 Excellents x 5) + (81 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 559 Ratings = 4.816
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Adelaide House Care Home is based on 47 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 47 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?

“Treating others the way I would like to be treated. We all have history to share, experiences which make us the way we are. Kindness has many forms, and we always should strive to be kind one to another.”

During his career in the health and care sector, Slawomir has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people to enrich their lives. He is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for residents.

Talking about how he began his career, Slawomir says:

“I was originally supposed to be a banker in my home country of Poland but didn’t love finance and decided to try something different. I started as a carer in 2005, fell in love with the profession and have never looked back.”

Having now worked in the care sector for many years, Slawomir closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every resident. He extends this caring approach to his colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.

When asked what he enjoys most about his role, Slawomir remarked:

“I love my work, I describe it as my calling, and could not imagine my life any other way. Every day is different and small things lead to huge differences in the lives of my residents.”

Outside of work, Slawomir enjoys a range of hobbies, spending time with his family, travelling and living life to the fullest.
