From the first time my mother-in-law came to Adelaide she felt at home. The staff have been amazing. They supported my mother-in-law through some really tough times and thankfully my mother-in-law is now much better and ready to go home again.
The staff have given her time and made her feel safe and
cared for and for us as a family, the communication has been excellent.
All in all, we have found Adelaide a warm and caring home.

All good nice staff and friendly. They helped my mum very well when she stayed at Adelaide House. Mum was taken care of really well at Adelaide House. I could not say anything but a very big thank you to Adelaide House team. You are doing an amazing job. My mum said that she did not feel that she was
alone, people always make time and say 'hi, how are you?'. Adelaide House is a very happy home and an excellent care home.

The staff have been excellent caring for my mother.
They are always helpful and polite, and happy.
My mum isn't always the easiest of people to care for, but the staff are super patient.
The facilities are really good, and engage with the residents in many activities.

My mum was in Adelaide House for 6 months until her passing. When she was in there she was treated well and the book held in her room for each aspect of her care was excellent and far better than other homes, detailing each time she was attended to throughout the day/night with observations and comments
to state was carried out.
Mum was moved from a ground floor garden view room during her stay to a room on the top floor which is meant to be the most expensive room, it is fine if someone is able to move around but as my mum was bedbound the room isn't that great as the windows are not visible from the bed height and the bed is positioned against a wall.
The staff member at the reception is an excellent point of contact (friendly and informative) and other members of staff were polite and called me by name.
Negatives:
1) Weekend access: Could family be given a monthly access code?
2) Being asked for a review on a tablet within hours of my mum's passing and her belongings in a bin bag!
Reply from Clare Sheehan, Careline Advisor at Adelaide House Care HomeThank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We are deeply sorry you were asked to complete a survey so soon, and that your Mother's belongings were not treated with consideration. Regrettably, for security reasons, we are unable to share access codes but, if further requests are made, we will consider the options. We appreciate your kind comments and are pleased to hear you found our staff to be helpful and caring during your Mothers stay with us.

During my eighteen-day stay here, I have been very happy, felt safe and secure. All of the staff from management all the way down have been very kind and caring. Everybody has taken the time to talk to me and all my friends and family. All my visitors have been very impressed with the hospitality we
have received. I would definitely recommend this nursing home to anyone looking for respite.

Mt friend has been coming to Adelaide House for over six months. She is largely bed bound but has occasionally been downstairs, she prefers to stay put. The 24-hour care support is fantastic and the meals are very good. Her personal care I always of the highest standard. The staff are very friendly
and always willing to chat. The records for each day are very comprehensive. My friend likes being here.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.830)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.830) out of 10 for Adelaide House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 46 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 46 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.830 for Adelaide House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (461 Excellents x 5) + (80 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 547 Ratings = 4.83
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Adelaide House Care Home is based on 46 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 46 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
