Nestled within the quiet surroundings of Walton-on-Thames, Adelaide House care home offers personalised residential and nursing care to older people.

With sitting rooms and space for residents to pursue their hobbies and interests, Adelaide House has a host of places in which to relax, dine, exercise, socialise and be creative. My mother now feels comfortable in Adelaide House and sees it as her home. She finds the staff very friendly and caring. The room is always kept clean and her needs are seen to promptly. As her daughter, I always find the staff very approachable. She finds the food quite pleasant. Any problems and maintenance
issues have been dealt with promptly.

Came for Xmas dinner with Mum. We had a lovely meal - we always find all the staff very friendly, patient and kind to Mum. Happy with her room and happy with the care given to Mum. We feel Mum is in a safe, caring environment.

Very good service. Mum always seems happy and always looked after. She always have her dinner. Staff always helpful and polite. Room always clean and tidy.

Lovely staff and great care for my aunt, would recommend this home. Very clean with nice food and could always speak to staff on the phone about my aunt. The home has a cosy feel and the staff are very kind.

I've found all the staff at Adelaide House to be very friendly, courteous and helpful. The garden is delightful and easily accessible from inside the property. The property is well maintained and is very clean and tidy.

I found the care, the staff and the atmosphere at the home wonderful. My mum was very happy there and I would definitely be using them again for respite care. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff are happy and kind.

During my eighteen-day stay here, I have been very happy, felt safe and secure. All of the staff from management all the way down have been very kind and caring. Everybody has taken the time to talk to me and all my friends and family. All my visitors have been very impressed with the hospitality we

Mt friend has been coming to Adelaide House for over six months. She is largely bed bound but has occasionally been downstairs, she prefers to stay put. The 24-hour care support is fantastic and the meals are very good. Her personal care I always of the highest standard. The staff are very friendly
and always willing to chat. The records for each day are very comprehensive. My friend likes being here.

From first experience, walking through the door everything has been exemplary. I was very professional and tactfully interviewed to establish the medical condition of my aunt. I was told how my aunt's need would be treated and the likely outcome and timeframe, on agreeing my aunt's admission, the transfer
from hospital was smoothly and promptly implemented that same day. The facilities are within the framework of an older building but the rooms are generous, clean and well-appointed. The staff are patient and caring and always cheerful and kind. My aunt hasn't been on any arranged activities which will be most welcome. I have experienced other institutions but cannot see how the experience and love we have received could be bettered.

My Mother-In-Law was a resident of Adelaide House from August 2018 until she passed this new year. Over the years she was treated as an individual, with care and compassion, and has always been well looked after (especially with meals and lots of tea!). In her last weeks, she was looked after with respect
and dignity, from the carers to nursing staff, admin, housekeeping and management. Thank you all.

My husband has been staying at Adelaide House for almost a month now. He has been well looked after by all the nurses and carers, all staff are polite and friendly. The manager is helpful, compassionate as well as professional. The care home has a homely, relaxing atmosphere. As a family we are glad

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?


“Treating others the way I would like to be treated. We all have history to share, experiences which make us the way we are. Kindness has many forms, and we always should strive to be kind one to another.”


During his career in the health and care sector, Slawomir has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people to enrich their lives. He is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for residents.


Talking about how he began his career, Slawomir says:


“I was originally supposed to be a banker in my home country of Poland but didn’t love finance and decided to try something different. I started as a carer in 2005, fell in love with the profession and have never looked back.”


Having now worked in the care sector for many years, Slawomir closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every resident. He extends this caring approach to his colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what he enjoys most about his role, Slawomir remarked:


“I love my work, I describe it as my calling, and could not imagine my life any other way. Every day is different and small things lead to huge differences in the lives of my residents.”


Outside of work, Slawomir enjoys a range of hobbies, spending time with his family, travelling and living life to the fullest.
