During my eighteen-day stay here, I have been very happy, felt safe and secure. All of the staff from management all the way down have been very kind and caring. Everybody has taken the time to talk to me and all my friends and family. All my visitors have been very impressed with the hospitality we have received. I would definitely recommend this nursing home to anyone looking for respite.

Mt friend has been coming to Adelaide House for over six months. She is largely bed bound but has occasionally been downstairs, she prefers to stay put. The 24-hour care support is fantastic and the meals are very good. Her personal care I always of the highest standard. The staff are very friendly and always willing to chat. The records for each day are very comprehensive. My friend likes being here.

From first experience, walking through the door everything has been exemplary. I was very professional and tactfully interviewed to establish the medical condition of my aunt. I was told how my aunt's need would be treated and the likely outcome and timeframe, on agreeing my aunt's admission, the transfer from hospital was smoothly and promptly implemented that same day. The facilities are within the framework of an older building but the rooms are generous, clean and well-appointed. The staff are patient and caring and always cheerful and kind. My aunt hasn't been on any arranged activities which will be most welcome. I have experienced other institutions but cannot see how the experience and love we have received could be bettered.

My Mother-In-Law was a resident of Adelaide House from August 2018 until she passed this new year. Over the years she was treated as an individual, with care and compassion, and has always been well looked after (especially with meals and lots of tea!). In her last weeks, she was looked after with respect and dignity, from the carers to nursing staff, admin, housekeeping and management. Thank you all.

My mother was on end-of-life care at Adelaide House Care Home in 2018. The carers have looked after her for the past 4 years to a very high standard. She has recently passed away but we were very pleased with the care given to her over this time. Many thanks.

Very good, sister needs more monitoring as she becomes confused. 2 members of staff, in particular, are excellent, always helpful, as is another.

My mum has been here 2 weeks. She came from hospital. Her care has been exceptional. I can relax that she is well looked after and happy to be at Adelaide House. Nothing is too much trouble and all the staff are professional, caring and just wonderful be around. They have supported me as well in making decisions about my mum's future care.

Review from Rosemary D (Partner of Resident) published on 22 November 2022 Submitted via Postal Card

I found the care and kindness that my partner received to be excellent at all times. He was a very sick man but the staff went out of their way to keep him comfortable and pain-free. As a regular visitor, I was always made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Although quite costly - I believe that you get what you pay for and that is the quality of Adelaide House.

My father transferred from a hospital setting into a respite/palliative care situation in October 2022. He had advanced prostate cancer and was deteriorating rapidly. The care team at Adelaide House were wonderful. Well-led and managed, they were professional, yet compassionate and warm. They looked after every detail and kept his spirits up when the battle was at its hardest. They communicated well with the family and extended their care to us all and our own well-being.

Since dad arrived at Adelaide House he seems happier and more communicative than the last visit. The staff are always cheerful which has contributed to this improvement. We always feel well informed about dad's condition and feel confident that he is in good hands.

Initially, I was reluctant to place my lovely mum into a care home, but due to numerous medical/health issues, her safety is now paramount. The excellent nursing staff, their kindness and compassion towards mum and myself as her daughter is superb.

Adelaide enabled me to see my stepmother for the first time since October 2020, when all visits were ceased due to the Covid lockdown. I was treated and welcomed very well by the staff, and it was lovely to see that my stepmother is being so well cared for and that she is happy to be there - as well as being happy to see me!
