Nestled within the quiet surroundings of Walton-on-Thames, Adelaide House care home offers personalised residential and nursing care to older people.

With sitting rooms and space for residents to pursue their hobbies and interests, Adelaide House has a host of places in which to relax, dine, exercise, socialise and be creative. My husband has been staying at Adelaide House for almost a month now. He has been well looked after by all the nurses and carers, all staff are polite and friendly. The manager is helpful, compassionate as well as professional. The care home has a homely, relaxing atmosphere. As a family we are glad
that we chose Adelaide House.

My mum has been here 2 weeks. She came from hospital. Her care has been exceptional. I can relax that she is well looked after and happy to be at Adelaide House. Nothing is too much trouble and all the staff are professional, caring and just wonderful be around. They have supported me as well in making

I found the care and kindness that my partner received to be excellent at all times. He was a very sick man but the staff went out of their way to keep him comfortable and pain-free. As a regular visitor, I was always made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Although quite costly - I believe
that you get what you pay for and that is the quality of Adelaide House.

My father transferred from a hospital setting into a respite/palliative care situation in October 2022. He had advanced prostate cancer and was deteriorating rapidly. The care team at Adelaide House were wonderful. Well-led and managed, they were professional, yet compassionate and warm. They looked
after every detail and kept his spirits up when the battle was at its hardest. They communicated well with the family and extended their care to us all and our own well-being.

Initially, I was reluctant to place my lovely mum into a care home, but due to numerous medical/health issues, her safety is now paramount. The excellent nursing staff, their kindness and compassion towards mum and myself as her daughter is superb.

Adelaide enabled me to see my stepmother for the first time since October 2020, when all visits were ceased due to the Covid lockdown. Adelaide House is a very cosy, homely, welcoming place. The staff are absolutely lovely - so friendly, patient and caring. The Manager is very approachable and extremely helpful. My mother lived here for the last 2 years of her life until she passed away, aged almost 103. She was wonderfully well looked
after and it was always a pleasure to visit her here and to see how fond the staff were of her. I always knew she was in good hands.

Having been my husband's only carer for 14 years, I felt NO ONE could or should touch him, I knew best. I can't explain this as only the two of us and are very close. He's only been here for a few days and I was talking last night to my friend and said to her that he is "in safe hands" and I really
meant it - beautiful home, lovely people all that I've met are really lovely. I can't say more but I am truly relaxed now, I can slow down.

I have recently visited a client of yours who previously was at another care home which I feel was understaffed. The difference in my friend is remarkable. He looks happier and so much healthier and seems to have a goal that they can work towards and is being a reality ie to go home.

This afternoon, December 18th, there was a Christmas Tea Dance, and, it was excellently arranged and executed by the events manager at the home. Really enjoyable and well attended, mum thoroughly enjoyed the old songs as well as the Christmas ones. Many thanks.

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?


“Treating others the way I would like to be treated. We all have history to share, experiences which make us the way we are. Kindness has many forms, and we always should strive to be kind one to another.”


During his career in the health and care sector, Slawomir has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people to enrich their lives. He is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for residents.


Talking about how he began his career, Slawomir says:


“I was originally supposed to be a banker in my home country of Poland but didn’t love finance and decided to try something different. I started as a carer in 2005, fell in love with the profession and have never looked back.”


Having now worked in the care sector for many years, Slawomir closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every resident. He extends this caring approach to his colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what he enjoys most about his role, Slawomir remarked:


“I love my work, I describe it as my calling, and could not imagine my life any other way. Every day is different and small things lead to huge differences in the lives of my residents.”


Outside of work, Slawomir enjoys a range of hobbies, spending time with his family, travelling and living life to the fullest.
