We had to bring my dad to Collingwood Grange under some very difficult circumstances. The experience was made so much better by the wonderful help and care of all the staff. All the staff were very friendly and so caring. They communicate any issues very effectively and am assured that they are giving my dad the very best of care. Our family are very grateful for all the help they have given us
The only thing that I think could be improved is that the garden needs some money spent on it and some landscaping to bring it back to life a bit. It is a lovely space but just needs a bit of love.
Thank you for your lovely review. We hope Collingwood Grange care home did everything possible to make the transition as easy as possible. We're so glad that the warmth and kindness of our staff have come through in your experience. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make Dad's...
As our aunt's health declined, we realised she needed more support. From our first enquiry, we received clear, patient and compassionate guidance, helping us understand the options available and making what felt like an overwhelming situation much easier to manage. Visiting Collingwood Grange reassured us that it was the right choice.
Our aunt was warmly welcomed and helped to settle into her new surroundings. Throughout her stay, every member of staff we met was friendly, professional and genuinely caring, always putting the wellbeing and dignity of residents first. We were especially grateful for the compassion and reassurance shown to both our aunt and our family during some very challenging times. We will always be thankful for the outstanding care and kindness provided by everyone at Collingwood Grange.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are pleased to hear that Collingwood Grange care home did everything possible to make the transition as easy as possible for you all. It's reassuring to hear that our approach to care has brought you and your family peace of mind and our team will be so pleased...
Care home staff continue to be unable to fit resident's catheter bag properly, including not putting on protective sleeve first leading to sore leg and resident discomfort. This ongoing issue has caused great concern to residents next of kin.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We take concerns like these seriously to ensure the highest standards of care. We will share the review with the home's manager to help continually improve the service.
It is the hardest thing to do, accepting that you can't look after those you love the most. Staff at Collingwood Grange, from day 1, have shown the most incredible care and compassion, not only to Dad but to us as a family. They have led me through important assessments, guiding me as much as was needed. They have taken care of Dad and made the most difficult decision bearable. Jane, on Reception, is absolutely wonderful. We are all known by our first names and nothing is too much trouble. Maria is kind, caring and has given me some wonderful, important advice during the past few months. Karen has led me through bureaucracy with efficiency and a smile and Amanda has tried very hard to encourage Dad to join in! There are too many names to mention but I would like to thank them all. They are doing a wonderful job.
We appreciate you sharing your experience with our home. We are glad to help you and your family through such a difficult time and we want our home to feel like a community, and it's wonderful to hear that you feel a part of it. It is lovely to hear that your Dad has settled in comfortably with us. We're committed to continuing to support you and your family in every way we can.
My experience has been good my husband is nearly blind so no good at recognising people but he recongnises a friendly voice and there are plenty of those at whatever time of day.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are so pleased to hear that your experience of our care home has been a positive one. We're committed to making every day as positive and comfortable as possible for your loved one.
My sister is going into her 4th year at Collingwood Grange and I can't thank the home enough, especially the staff on the 2nd floor. Sister in charge is always there for us as a family and nothing is too much trouble. Very well run and caring home. Thank you all.
We're so grateful that you have taken the time to share your thoughts. We want our home to feel like a community, and it's wonderful to hear that you feel a part of it. Hearing that our care brings you peace of mind truly means so much to us and please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your Sister's stay as comfortable as possible.
I am so happy mum is now safe and being cared for in such a kind environment.
Everyone has been so helpful and she is very happy.

We hope Collingwood Grange care home did everything they could to make the transition as easy as possible. We're committed to continuing to support you and your family in every way we can.
My mother has been a resident at Collingwood Grange Care Home or about nine months, and in my opinion she is receiving excellent care. Before that, she lived in her own house, but she has been bed bound following a fall. She appreciates all the support that she receives from the staff, and this has helped her to accept and be positive about her situation. The staff are professional and friendly, and they ensure that she has meals, medication, laundry changing etc at the right times every day. My brothers, myself and other visitors are always welcome.
Thank you for leaving this wonderful review for our home. Our absolute priority is making our residents feel well looked after and cared for, so it's great to read these comments. We understand that care can look different for everyone and our aim is to make ever resident feel special. We look forward to seeing you and your family again.
My mother was given a very warm welcome, and immediately we all felt she was safe and well cared for. The manager, Maria, was never too busy to speak with us and deal with any issues. Care staff and nursing staff were very attentive, and friendly. My mother was at another care home and we never left feeling good, seeing staff ignore residents, or worse, berate them. At Collingwood Grange, we know my mother is in good hands, and will always be safe.
Thank you for your lovely review. Providing peace of mind for families is one of our top priorities, so your words mean a lot. It's reassuring to hear that our approach to care has brought you and your family peace of mind. We're committed to making every day as positive and comfortable as possible for your loved one.
Dad has been at Collingwood Grange for 10 months. He was admitted bed bound, weak and confused. He is now much less confused, no longer bed bound and much better than he was in hospital after his stroke. He is happy and feels safe. He loves the fact the "small brown hairy thing" can visit (my dog watson).
Your words remind us why we do what we do. Hearing that our care brings you peace of mind truly means so much to us. We are so pleased to hear first-hand about how our open door policy makes a real difference to our resident's lives! We're committed to making every day as positive and comfortable as possible for your loved one.
As the daughter of the resident, I love to visit my mother who is a fairly new arrival to your friendly, professionally r-n home. It's very comforting to visit and leave knowing that mum is in the best place to keep her safe and well looked after. The staff are wonderful, starting with the receptionist and everyone who work so hard to make the residents remaining days a pleasure to be alive.
It's always encouraging to read reviews like this. It is nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. This home was recommended to me by a close relative & I can see why. From receptionist to cleaners & all nurses inbetween they are exceptionally kind, caring people. They are all so cheerful & friendly & go the extra mile at all times to ensure patients are well cared for. They even make us feel wanted too & nothing seems like too much trouble. Very good range of activities & place is so clean. Food's great & wouldn't recommend anywhere else other than Collingwood Grange.
Thank you for your lovely words. It is always wonderful to hear words like "Kind" and "Caring" being used to describe our staff and we are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your loved one in our care. We are pleased to hear that you are impressed with the high standards of care provided,...
Not sure my mother is being fed, do they feed her when I'm not there? No one else was being fed by staff.
She needed changing and I had an eye roll!
Do they assist her with drinking? The drinks in her room when I turned up were warm.
Does anyone truly care in the care profession?
The room is small and incredibly dark, even in the middle of summer.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. Could you please contact our Feedback Team by emailing feedback@bupa.com or calling 0113 381 6293 so we could discuss this further? In the meantime, we will discuss your feedback with the home's manager to help them continually improve their...
A huge thank you to all the team. I think Collingwood Grange should be celebrated for the incredible care my darling mother received during her stay. From the care, love, support and medical team, everyone we encountered made her stay a wonderful experience. Also, the care and support we, as relatives, received as well.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. Hopefully you will go away from this feeling like your Mother received the best possible care at Collingwood Grange Care Home.
Very impressive! An excellent start.
Thank you for your kind words. We hope Collingwood Grange care home did everything possible to make the transition as easy as possible. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your wife's stay as comfortable as possible.
My mother-in-law moved into the home back in March 2025 and despite not wanting to leave her flat she did like her room. When I talked with her the day after the move she told me she was glad she moved into the home as the staff were so lovely and she had a lovely big and airy room. Despite being in hospital for a while just after moving in the staff were so kind and helpful and made sure she was comfortable. May 25th mum-in-law passed away peacefully but every single member of staff who cared for her played there part and, although we stayed with her for a while after, we felt the staff left us to say our goodbyes and were very supportive when we left. Each and every member of staff, from receptionist to nurse played there part and I can't speak highly enough of them
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. We are saddened to hear about your loss. It is always nice to hear words like "Kind" and "Helpful" being used to describe our Staff. Hopefully you will go away from this feeling like your Mother-in-law received the best possible care.
My mother moved into Collingwood Grange in March. The staff are all wonderful and have treated her with great kindness. They also regularly keep me updated on all aspects of her care and any liaison with the GP. She has a lovely, spacious room and there are lots of activities to join in with. The home is clean and welcoming.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to make your Mother's stay as comfortable as possible.
Be Very Careful! After 3 months of relatively quiet occupation our father developed challenging behaviour, becoming aggressive and agitated, for, as yet, reasons unknown. Collingwood sent him to hospital for tests (unnecessary) and evicted him on the same day while he was away from the premises. They have no experience at this home for anyone who develops these symptoms.
Hi Andrew, we're really disappointed to read your comments, this isn't representative of our usual standards of care. The welfare of our residents is a priority across our homes. We can't discuss specific cases or personal details here, but we've spoken to the home, and we understand there has been conversations with yourself, and others relating to these points.
Both my parents have been cared for at Collingwood Grange, my father for five years, and my mother for many years. The food, drink and facilities are very good and a lot of activities and the care and support are excellent and treated with great kindness and dignity.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are pleased to hear that you are impressed with the high standards of care provided, delicious meals and the range of activities provided at Collingwood Grange Care Home. We hope Collingwood Grange Care Home did everything possible to make the transition as easy...
My mum has only been at the home since December 2024 and whenever I visit, I am warmly greeted by the lovely reception staff. All of the staff are kind and friendly and take very good care of my mum. There are plenty of activities that take place to keep everyone busy and entertained. The home is cleaned to a high standard. The rooms are big and spacious and feel very homely and the most important thing is my mum is very happy.
Thank you for your kind words. We hope Collingwood Grange Care Home did everything possible to make the transition as easy as possible and it is always nice to hear words like "kind" and "friendly" being used to describe our care. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your Mum's stay as comfortable as possible and we are looking forward to seeing you again.
