Collingwood Grange Care Home

I had a scheduled meeting with the Manager to address a concern and I was pleased that my concerns were addressed immediately. The staff are lovely and pleasant. There is a good feeling about the home and my relative is happy.

Overall, I am having a very positive experience here at Collingwood Grange Care Home.

Always get a welcome when visiting. Choosing this home was made easy as their main topic was about my father and his needs and generally all about him. My mind is put at ease as I know he is in the best care and made comfortable by the lovely, kind staff. Any concerns or worries I have, there is always someone that listens but to be honest there are few.

The care my mum has received since she arrived two months ago has been amazing. All the staff are so welcoming and friendly. The activity staff are amazing with the residents. I am very happy that my mum is at Collingwood Grange Care Home.

They are a fantastic team at Collingwood Grange Care Home, feel that Mum is really looked after there and she has a great relationship with the staff. We are kept well informed of any changes in Mum's health and always a nice welcome when we visit.

Friendly, caring team who provides a safe and warm environment - where nothing is too much trouble and where they are always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that our aunt is well cared for. The family, of all ages, are encouraged to visit and participate in the choice of events that are available and are always welcomed with a smile.

A homely feel.

However, I do have a final point regarding the catering, it lacks flavour and the menu imagination. I also question the quality of the produce used. I am in discussion with the management on a regular basis on how to improve this situation.

Unfortunately, the shared approach road to Collingwood Grange Care Home grounds, off the Portsmouth Road, is becoming very worn and needs yet another expense in resurfacing.

I always find the staff very helpful when I visit and nothing seems too much trouble for them.

I attended the home's Jubilee party which was very enjoyable, lots of smiling faces, the garden was decorated nicely and the entertainment very good. My friend says all the staff look after her so well, nothing is too much trouble.

Staff very caring towards my father who has been a resident for fourteen years. They go the extra mile. The staff are very good at keeping me informed of any changes in my father's condition. They have ensured he gets the right care as his condition deteriorates.

I moved into the home in April 2021. I find the carers good and extremely kind. I feel very well looked after and I am treated with dignity. I am very comfortable and happy living here. I enjoy the food very much. I am glad I chose this home when I made the decision to move to a care home.

I receive a monthly newsletter and management keep us updated with any changes due to the pandemic or anything else that affects my aunt which is very important as we do not live locally.

Above all, the staff are kind, caring and welcoming. During my visits to see my mother, members of staff regularly pop in to check she is ok, offer her drinks etc. The nurse is available to chat to regarding any possible health concerns. There is always a lovely welcome in reception with someone always available to speak to. Communication is very good, keeping me updated if I'm unable to visit.

My visits will be enjoyed more when we can dispense with the wearing of gloves, masks and aprons; but for the moment I am reassured by the precautions that the staff are taking during the pandemic.

I think the care home, Collingwood Grange is wonderful. You immediately feel part of a special family. My mother is well cared for and always looks clean, neat and tidy whatever time I visit. Staff go out of their way in terms of food, personal care and general well being. I feel happy every time I leave knowing that Mum is in good hands and is receiving the very best of care. Thank you.

The garden is lovely and it is so nice seeing everyone enjoying the outdoors.

I am a Relevant Persons' Representative for two residents at Collingwood Grange. From my experience, staff are always friendly and helpful. They have the necessary Covid protocols in place when I visit including lateral flow testing, temperature testing and PPE.

Dad moved to Collingwood Grange from the hospital in the middle of January this year after contracting Covid 19. This was a big move for Dad after such a significant illness and for me and my 2 sisters. From the very beginning, we had a positive experience with the staff at Collingwood Grange. Choosing and finding a place for Dad was a very hard decision to make and they were so helpful; sending lots of pictures about what his room might look like, answering all our questions about the level of his care in a timely, caring and professional manner. Everything that they said they would do, they did with kindness understanding and in good time and ensured that we understood everything that was going on and was able to convey that with care and attention to Dad. When Dad first moved to Collingwood Grange from the hospital he had to isolate for 14 days and during that period of time he was not left alone; he had good company from the care team, they kept him entertained with jigsaws.
