Collingwood Grange has been converted to offer a variety of individualised care options for both long-term and short-stay care in nursing, residential and dementia as well as palliative, convalescence and Parkinson's care.

Situated in the picturesque area of Camberley, built in the 1900s, the home benefits from being set within three acres of land, giving residents a great outdoor living space that they can enjoy with residents alike, friends and family. There are ample seating areas so that the natural surroundings can be taken in at leisure.

Collingwood has several living rooms and dining areas, as well as a number of dedicated quiet areas. Each decorated to a high standard and often providing some great homely features that give this home a really quaint and relaxed feeling. These rooms also offer the opportunity to have family and friends over for special occasions or any day that the resident wants. All bedrooms provide en-suite facilities and a 24-hour call system.

This home has a beautiful light and airy dining room where fresh and seasonal dishes are served, with any personal tastes or dietary requirements accounted for and recorded in the care plans. If residents prefer to eat within their rooms this is also respected and will be arranged with staff.

The staff work to discover what residents enjoy doing and the home's social calendar is organised around those interests.

Nothing is too much trouble. The staff are both caring and professional in each role. The staff nurses and sisters have made me feel as a concerned daughter that I can approach them as often as I need to and have always done their utmost to answer my questions and fulfill my requests for my Mum. They
have given advice and support during a very emotional time to me and my family. It is clear they are very experienced with caring for people at this stage of their journey. Mum hasn't experience the activities but I have seen a few and they seem stimulating. Although staff were very happy to find things Mum could eat I found the choices limited and a lot of the food very 'samey'. Corned beef and omelettes are usually the alternatives.

Very happy with the care Mum receives at Collingwood Grange Care Home. Staff are friendly and approachable. They are very attentive to Mum, particularly in encouraging and supporting her to eat. They also keep the family informed regularly regarding Mum's care which we really appreciate.

Although the staff were nice, the home is very understaffed and my mother suffered as a result. She was often very soiled, her room smelled of urine and it was clear she had not been attended to. Dietary needs were ignored and she was hardly ever mobilised. She became very distressed, so we moved
her to another care home, where she is very happy.

Collingwood Grange allows a person to retain their dignity and independence. The home has plenty of free parking places for visitors and a very welcoming entrance. I was impressed with the large private rooms with their own en-suite. Patients are allowed to put up their own pictures and bring in their
own furniture - making it 'home from home'. The staff are very caring and genuinely want to help, making sure the residents are comfortable and entertained. There are so many activities on offer. The relaxed open-door policy makes visiting, especially as they allow well-behaved dogs to visit - a real comfort to the owner and a pleasure for other residents to be able to stroke an animal.

The staff at Collingwood Grange were always friendly and welcoming. They were all aware of mum's individual needs and treated her with care, respect, dignity and a friendly smile.
I cannot thank all staff, including care, admin, maintenance and cleaning for everything they did to make mum's stay as
comfortable and happy as possible. She passed away in peace and dignity in her own room and we have no regrets at placing her at Collingwood Grange.

My wife had a fortnight stay at Collingwood and found the home 1st class.
The staff were very attentive to her needs (she had a stroke in September 2014) and always made sure she was comfortable.
The management were always polite and ready to answer any problems I had.

My wife only spent five days in this home and passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. In the short time spent, she came to love her surroundings in a very comfortable room.
It was the staff though, with the care and love that was shown at all times to her. She relied happily on everything
the staff did for her, always showing such care and consideration that I have never experienced before. It must be said the staff were a team and seemed to work as one from management down.

After investigating the care homes in the area and visiting a couple on our short list, Collingwood Grange was the obvious choice. An important factor in the choice, besides the friendliness, ambience, cleanliness and approach of the staff was that Collingwood Grange was near enough for my 95-year-old
father (her brother-in-law) to easily visit. Collingwood Grange also invited my father to visit and have lunch with my aunt, which he did each Wednesday and Sunday, reflecting the social arrangement they had developed since my mother died in 2001.
Collingwood Grange staff went overboard to make my aunt's room personal to her, allowing her to bring in her own recliner/riser chair, her pictures which were hung on the wall and her ornaments, which were displayed on a shelf which was specially installed for her.
We were always made welcome whenever visiting Collingwood Grange. I have heard similar reports from several of my aunt's friends, who also visited her.
The nursing care was excellent. The nursing staff kept me informed and alerted me to their concerns. The resident experience manager's efforts in arranging "those little things in life" which make the difference, was excellent.
Collingwood Grange may appear slightly more expensive but the quality of care more than warrants the extra cost.

My father has been here for 4 1/2 years and at no time have we ever felt that he hasn't received the very best most tender treatment.

I find the care home to be very efficient and friendly, but also homely. Visiting is very flexible, in fact, you can visit at any time. Also, pets are welcome (which makes my husband's day).

I don't quite know where to begin, suffice to say many more staff than I was initially aware displayed compassion, care and genuine affection for my mother in her last years and did so to a degree I cannot fully or adequately write.
On a more practical note, the rooms are large and pleasant and personally
decorated as you may wish with whatever furnishings you may wish to supply.
The management and staff have become like a family and I hope to remain in contact with them and visit them occasionally.

Staff are always friendly, supportive and helpful. The home is very clean and tidy and meals appealing. Always activities that are well planned and executed, and mum is encouraged to join in. Overall a nice place to be.

My 90-year-old mother has been a resident for 9 months.
She was a very reluctant resident at first but has mellowed and now enjoys her time more or less.
Care is good - Mum has favourites.
She enjoys physical activities.
Lacks stimulation from other residents. There are many dementia residents -
Mum is very lucid and struggles with others' disabilities.
Care is very expensive.
Communication is good between the care home and myself.
Mum will make sure to let it be known if she is unhappy with any aspect of care.
Her one complaint is lack of time of the staff to spend with her - always rushing.

Since my mum moved into Collingwood Grange in January 2017 we have been so impressed with the level of care. Communication with/from the home has been excellent and we have been made aware of any issues as they have arisen. Special mentions must go to the Registered Nurse who knows all of my mum's needs
and concerns, and the Resident Experience Manager who has been excellent in helping us (including organising her 80th birthday). Thank you!

Having looked at ten care homes we were very lucky to find Collingwood Grange. From entering the building we had a feeling of well being and this was reinforced after a tour of the property. Our decision to place my mother into Collingwood Grange was made that day after a consultation with the manager.
After 3 months of care for my mother, we have no complaints. All of the staff and management are of the highest calibre.
