I have known Corrina Lodge for more than 6 years since my mother and sister first moved in. I can honestly say I have always found the staff to be very friendly and helpful to residents and relatives alike.
After frustration caused by Covid restrictions on visits, I have been pleased to stay for 3 weeks of respite, in order to spend more quality time with my wife at Corrina Lodge. There, I saw the empathy and support given by many nurses and carers. Sadly, whilst there I have heard of the death of my younger sister and I was touched by the personal concern staff showed me too. Sharing meals showed that my wife, even at 90, slowly feeds herself or has help from a kind carer. The food was great. Sitting in the garden we could hear laughter as the activities team cheered up those confined to their rooms. How pleasing to hear staff tell me how much they enjoy their work. They deserve a pay rise, I'm sure - as well as grateful appreciation from us all.
The staff are very helpful and welcoming.
Staff are always polite and helpful. He is content, happy and is pleased to help when he can he views this care home as his home. Thank you for your kind attention to his needs. Best regards.
Very welcoming on arrival. Made to feel very welcome. Nursing staff very caring. Lovely atmosphere. Relative looked after too. Great range of activities for residents, relatives including too ie. dog shows.
Staff were always on hand to ensure that appropriate care was provided and the residents' needs were met. Food and facilities were of a high standard and the whole environment had a homey feel to it, and the activities laid on were many and varied.
Every member of staff were helpful, polite, willing, warm, friendly and efficient. The premises were always clean, our room was always clean and aired. The staff were always busy attending to residents. (There was no idle chatter). Every carer was focused, serious and at the same time sensitive to vulnerable residents. With time to smile and get to know residents personally. Mainly kindness stood out.
As you would expect, some staff are there to do a job and earn a wage, but there are others who are clearly invested in the well being of the residents. I was lucky enough to join a group on an outing (the first since lockdown) watching the way that residents were treated was wonderful, and the staff were clearly thrilled at seeing my father laughing and happy. It's a memory I will cherish.
Good Afternoon, Debbie, our home manager is currently on training and then straight into annual leave. I am the Customer Relationship Manager here at Corrina Lodge. Thank you for your lovely review. I am so happy you and your wonderful Father enjoyed the outing and you were able to make memories....
Dad is doing so much better since his move to Corrina Lodge. He has a wonderful relationship with the staff, who treat him with kindness and respect. We've been so worried about him before his acceptance to the home. Now we can be confident and happy that he is well cared for. Thank you Corrina Lodge you've helped our whole family.
Staff extremely helpful and cheerful, efficient facilities, comfortable and pleasant. Food well prepared and nutritious. Well managed, activities are excellent and enjoyable. Reception welcoming and warm. In all a most comfortable and recuperative stay in respite.
Thank you so, so much for taking the time to share all your lovely comments. We are so glad that your stay with us gave you some time to rest and recuperate.
Our son, who is 54, suffers from advanced M.S. He has resided at Corrina Lodge for 9 years. He is now totally incapacitated. Since arriving at Corrina Lodge he has always been treated with kindness and respect.
Thank you for your review and for noticing how important it is for our team to treat all our residents with dignity and respect.
My brother-in-law has lived at Corrina Lodge for many years now. He is happy here and well cared for he gets on well with the staff. He is happy with his computer and tv. He caught Covid at the care home but thankfully he has now recovered although he has been left weak and tired.
Thank you for taking the time to write your review. To care for our residents is our main priority. Your brother-in-law is such a lovely gentleman and a pleasure to spend time with.
The Corrina Lodge have looked after my wife for over three years without any problems.
Thank you for your review. We really enjoy looking after your wife.
Corrina Lodge are very understanding, approachable and have been amazing during these challenging times with Covid and lockdowns. We can't thank them and praise them enough.
Well done and thank you to the management and fantastic team.
Thank you so much. We really do appreciate you taking time firstly to give us a review and secondly for your praise. We all work really hard to make sure we give five star care to each and every resident. The team have come together throughout this pandemic and I for one couldn't be prouder of them all.
My father has been a resident at Barchester Corrina Lodge for almost three years. He is very happy with his care and so are we. The staff are very caring and friendly, and Dad has really improved since he became a resident at Corrina Lodge. The gardens are large and easy to access in nice weather. We are very happy with the care Dad receives.
Thank you Connie, Dad is a pleasure to have in the home. We will share your comments with all the staff.
This is a home that is charging over £8000 per month and when this home was selected claimed that they were proud of their food and the care they provide. The food is worse than a schoolchild would be expected to eat (for example today's supper was baked beans on toast). The rooms are small, like a student room and the care is underwhelming though there are some notable exceptions. I have had to contact the home to request they wash my relative's hair as they asked me to bring shampoo. They also claimed to offer physio as part of the contract but used the virus as cover to drop it and provide shocking levels of care (leaving in bed until late morning, not putting to bed until late at night etc) and when I challenge this the management has arrogantly ignored my concerns and continue business as usual. The real issue is extremely poor management and a grasping business model when they see residents as revenue streams only. I am still waiting for a response to a complaint I made in January.
We are sorry to hear you were not happy with the care provided at Corrina Lodge. As explained in an email to yourself from our Customer Feedback Team and additional emails from myself, your complaint is currently being investigated and a response will be sent to you within the timeframe stated. My nan lived at Corrina Lodge for just under a year. I was always warmly welcomed by the staff and highly impressed by the cleanliness of the facilities. The vast majority of staff were highly professional and skilled. A few need to ensure professionalism at all times, including corridors. Overall I thank you all for caring for my Nan.
Thank you Sam for your review and your lovely comments. We loved having your nan stay with us and know that she enjoyed her time here. We will pass on your comments to our team too.
My mother lived in the home for about ten months before she sadly passed away. During her stay, she received excellent care and attention. The whole management, activity and clinical team have been wonderful and always cheerful even through these pandemic times. I have no hesitation in recommending this care and nursing home to you all.
Thank you so much for your kind words and taking the time to share your feelings about Corrina Lodge. We are passionate about creating a caring and supportive environment for both our residents and their families and loved ones and it was a pleasure to be able to support and care for your lovely Mum.
My wife was at Corrina for nearly three years, and during this time we found the care to be excellent and the staff without exception to be kind, friendly and helpful. However, sadly at the end of July 2020, we were told that her needs had increased to the point where we should move her to some other home that had a dementia unit. This we managed to do on 27th August 2020. One of the consequences of this move was that a four-figure refund was due to me. The paperwork for this was completed promptly and efficiently at Corrina but needed some sort of higher approval. Now, 56 days (8 weeks) after my wife's departure, this refund has still not been paid and I have not been contacted in any way. Why not, and what is going on at the administrative level?
Hello David, Thank you so much for your kind words about Corrina Lodge. We miss seeing your wife so much and were very sad to say goodbye. We, of course, miss you too. We hope that you are staying safe and well and that your wife is settling into her new home. Hopefully, we can all be reunited and catch up properly once circumstances allow. Very best wishes form the Corrina Lodge Community.
The visit was well managed, correctly distanced, overseen with care and kindness. Could not have been managed better. Booking the time slot was easy. All the staff are very helpful.
Thank you so much for your positive comments regarding your visit to see your Mum. We are so pleased that visits are able to happen in a safe environment, which enables families to stay connected and spend time together. Very best wishes, The Corrina Lodge Community.

Meet the Team (9)

I have worked in elderly care since the age of 16, and then at 18, went on to train as a nurse. I have been working as a Registered Manager since 1998, and am passionate about providing the highest standard of care to our residents. I get pleasure from making a difference to the lives of our residents. I have personal experience in finding care as a relative and can understand the challenges you may face in finding good care. My father was in a Barchester care home, and my mother has also had respite care in a Barchester Home.
In my spare time, I enjoy baking cakes, art and craft, gardening and growing vegetables in the allotment. We have a wonderful team here at Corrina Lodge, all with the passion of providing a high level of care to our residents.

My name is Patrycja, and I am the Deputy Manager and Clinical Lead at Corrina Lodge.
I trained to become a registered nurse at the Medical University in Poland, which was where I graduated.
I am very invested in Corrina Lodge and have worked here since 2019, initially as a senior nurse.
Previous to this, I enjoyed a position as clinical lead in a dementia unit, which has contributed to my knowledge, understanding and determination to deliver outstanding care.
I am extremely passionate about my job and value the opportunity to really make a difference to our residents’ lives. I have created positive bonds with residents and their families during my time at Corrina and enjoy being part of such a vibrant community. I pride myself on my work ethic and enjoy working with such a dedicated team.

I joined Barchester in March 2026 and am new to the care sector. I have worked in Administration roles throughout my career, with approximately 21 years of experience. The team at Corrina Lodge are amazing, there is a real family feel here, and I have been made to feel so welcome since joining. I am really enjoying working within the care sector, and I am using my experience and knowledge to ensure our home can be the best it can be.
I look forward to welcoming you into our home.

Michelle Llaguno RGN is our Head of Unit; she served for many years as our trainer, operational lead and Care Practitioner. She has been and still is an amazing role model for our younger staff of how far you can come at Corrina Lodge.
Michelle is an exceptional Nurse and a fantastic leader. She also writes all the care rotas for all the staff every week.

Hi, I am Kerry, the Administration Assistant, and I joined in January 2026. I am new to the care sector, but I have extensive administration experience across various industries over many years! Corrina Lodge is a lovely place to be, with friendly, caring staff and wonderful residents whom I enjoy chatting with whilst I am manning the reception desk.

Hello, I’m Mark and I have been elected as Chairman of our Residents' Committee. The committee meets every two months, and we make lifestyle choices for the home.
I’ve lived at Corrina Lodge since 2017, and I have had so much support with activities that it has engaged my interest in all sorts of ways. My interest in art has resurfaced, and I now pursue this hobby actively. I also really enjoy taking photos around the home using my iPad, which get uploaded onto our TV in the reception area and are a great talking point for visitors.
As a spokesperson for our community, I enjoy helping others, welcoming visitors and getting involved with all aspects of life here at the home. I come from a very large family; I am one of nine siblings. My family and friends visit often and have recognised that living at Corrina Lodge has greatly enhanced my life.

Sharon has been at Corrina Lodge since July 1997 and is our longest-serving staff member. She has been Head of Activities twice and only relinquished the role when she was raising her lovely children.
Sharon leads a very strong team of three coordinators supported by Gina and Alina. Sharon also now has quite a collection of volunteers and work experience students. Activities are huge at Corrina Lodge, and Sharon thinks big and always follows through. We like to think that we give everything a try, and the activities that Sharon's team provide are incredibly well attended at Corrina Lodge.

Hi, my name is Sherry, and I have worked at Corrina for over 11 years. I started working as a carer, then progressed to senior carer and then ground floor team leader. I have recently achieved my qualification as a care practitioner. I am really enjoying the challenge and responsibility of my new role.
I am proud to be part of a brilliant team and personally pride myself on managing my floor, supporting residents in a person centred enviroment and ensuring the well-being and happiness of those we support. I have also built up excellent relationships with residents' families and friends.

My name is Kathleen, and I have worked in the care sector all of my working life. I believe I have a good understanding of our residents' needs and always do my utmost to accommodate them.
I love to make home-cooked dishes from scratch and always promote a nutritional diet. I enjoy cooking traditional dishes that residents can relate to and look as good as they taste.
On the naughty but nice side, I pride myself on baking some delicious cakes and biscuits for residents to enjoy.
Nothing is too much trouble, and I will always do my best to create a wonderful dining experience for the Corrina Community.
