My mother has dementia and was struggling with loneliness. We moved her to Corrina Lodge for a respite week which we are looking to extend. The staff could not have been more accommodating and friendly. It is clean and feels luxurious and the food is amazing. After a few days, I can already see a big difference in Mum, she is much happier, is getting involved in the activities as well as making new friends.
I would like to see separate activities and meals for those with all their mental faculties if that were at all possible.
The activity staff at this care home are amazing. The key worker knows my father really well and makes a point of visiting him regularly and updating me whenever she sees me (he doesn't get out of bed). Staff on the front desk are always welcoming and helpful. Unfortunately, there have been lots of changes of manager, care staff and nurses - they don't always seem to stay for long. Staff would benefit from training in managing residents with dementia. AAlthough it is not a dementia care home some residents do develop this condition while there.
The staff have been so helpful and cannot do enough for you. It's like staying in a five-star hotel.
My father has Parkinson's and it's essential he gets his medicine on time. This is now done religiously ( something that did not happen in hospital). Well done and keep up the excellent work.
Thank you so much for your kind review. We are thrilled to have your father with us and as always, should you require anything at all, just ask our staff or contact me anytime.
I came to Corrina when my wife (who joined me later) was in hospital and I was no longer able to look after myself. After much discussion, we decided that two separate rooms close to one another would fulfil our needs. This arrangement has worked out very well. The care I have received has been very good and the carers are kind and helpful in every way.
Always friendly and cheerful staff in an excellent maintained care home.
Thank you so much for your review, we value feedback given to the team here at Corrina Lodge and are grateful for you spending the time to review us. As always my door is always open and should you need the support of any one of the team or myself we are happy to help. Kind Regards
My mother was transferred to Corrina Lodge from hosptial to received palliative care.
The care that she received was outstanding.
She was only there for a short time as she deteriorated very quickly but the staff were amazing and made her feel welcome from the moment she arrived. They were also incredibly supportive to our family when she sadly passed away.
I always receive a warm welcome and it is clear to me that they really know him as a person - his personality, his likes and dislikes.
There is a genuine warmth.
I feel he is well cared for.
The staff I have spoken to have always been so lovely and I have no doubts at all that my friend is in the best place.
All the staff were incredibly supportive of myself and gran in her final weeks of life. She was safe and warm and very well cared for. I will forever be indebted to them. Thank you for looking after both of us.
Staff really charming and helpful, you just have to ask.
I have been having lunch here with her and found the food excellent quality and a lot of thought has gone into the requirements of the residents, I thoroughly enjoyed my lunches. The staff find time for a little chat and make everyone feel welcome.
My mother has just had a two-week respite stay at Corrina Lodge. The care and support given was wonderful, every single member of staff was very kind, caring and friendly. Really impressed with all the facilities, a very big thank you!
One could not wish for a more dignified and happy environment from Corrina Lodge.
Food very erratic, sometimes cold and sometimes not cooked enough. Seems to have gone downhill since the chef left.
Too many agency staff who do not care enough.
Requests for doctors visits take too long.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on your mothers stay with us at Corrina Lodge. We pride ourselves on the close and attentive care to our residents and are proud of the changes that have been implemented in the home to continue to improve our service and delivery...
Our son is 49 years old. He was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis over 15 years ago. He requires full time residential care and was moved to Corrina Lodge over 4 years ago in 2012. He has been very well cared for physically, mentally and medically, but as is to be expected his condition has deteriorated. He can no longer use a self propelled wheelchair, has to be fed and helped to drink through a straw. He enjoys his food and a glass of wine at lunch and supper. He is content with his surroundings and appreciative of carers and medical staff who look after him so well and meet his needs. We are most pleased and grateful for the way he is looked after and for the friendly attitude of management and all the staff at Corrina Lodge.

Meet the Team (9)

I have worked in elderly care since the age of 16, and then at 18, went on to train as a nurse. I have been working as a Registered Manager since 1998, and am passionate about providing the highest standard of care to our residents. I get pleasure from making a difference to the lives of our residents. I have personal experience in finding care as a relative and can understand the challenges you may face in finding good care. My father was in a Barchester care home, and my mother has also had respite care in a Barchester Home.
In my spare time, I enjoy baking cakes, art and craft, gardening and growing vegetables in the allotment. We have a wonderful team here at Corrina Lodge, all with the passion of providing a high level of care to our residents.

My name is Patrycja, and I am the Deputy Manager and Clinical Lead at Corrina Lodge.
I trained to become a registered nurse at the Medical University in Poland, which was where I graduated.
I am very invested in Corrina Lodge and have worked here since 2019, initially as a senior nurse.
Previous to this, I enjoyed a position as clinical lead in a dementia unit, which has contributed to my knowledge, understanding and determination to deliver outstanding care.
I am extremely passionate about my job and value the opportunity to really make a difference to our residents’ lives. I have created positive bonds with residents and their families during my time at Corrina and enjoy being part of such a vibrant community. I pride myself on my work ethic and enjoy working with such a dedicated team.

I joined Barchester in March 2026 and am new to the care sector. I have worked in Administration roles throughout my career, with approximately 21 years of experience. The team at Corrina Lodge are amazing, there is a real family feel here, and I have been made to feel so welcome since joining. I am really enjoying working within the care sector, and I am using my experience and knowledge to ensure our home can be the best it can be.
I look forward to welcoming you into our home.

Michelle Llaguno RGN is our Head of Unit; she served for many years as our trainer, operational lead and Care Practitioner. She has been and still is an amazing role model for our younger staff of how far you can come at Corrina Lodge.
Michelle is an exceptional Nurse and a fantastic leader. She also writes all the care rotas for all the staff every week.

Hi, I am Kerry, the Administration Assistant, and I joined in January 2026. I am new to the care sector, but I have extensive administration experience across various industries over many years! Corrina Lodge is a lovely place to be, with friendly, caring staff and wonderful residents whom I enjoy chatting with whilst I am manning the reception desk.

Hello, I’m Mark and I have been elected as Chairman of our Residents' Committee. The committee meets every two months, and we make lifestyle choices for the home.
I’ve lived at Corrina Lodge since 2017, and I have had so much support with activities that it has engaged my interest in all sorts of ways. My interest in art has resurfaced, and I now pursue this hobby actively. I also really enjoy taking photos around the home using my iPad, which get uploaded onto our TV in the reception area and are a great talking point for visitors.
As a spokesperson for our community, I enjoy helping others, welcoming visitors and getting involved with all aspects of life here at the home. I come from a very large family; I am one of nine siblings. My family and friends visit often and have recognised that living at Corrina Lodge has greatly enhanced my life.

Sharon has been at Corrina Lodge since July 1997 and is our longest-serving staff member. She has been Head of Activities twice and only relinquished the role when she was raising her lovely children.
Sharon leads a very strong team of three coordinators supported by Gina and Alina. Sharon also now has quite a collection of volunteers and work experience students. Activities are huge at Corrina Lodge, and Sharon thinks big and always follows through. We like to think that we give everything a try, and the activities that Sharon's team provide are incredibly well attended at Corrina Lodge.

Hi, my name is Sherry, and I have worked at Corrina for over 11 years. I started working as a carer, then progressed to senior carer and then ground floor team leader. I have recently achieved my qualification as a care practitioner. I am really enjoying the challenge and responsibility of my new role.
I am proud to be part of a brilliant team and personally pride myself on managing my floor, supporting residents in a person centred enviroment and ensuring the well-being and happiness of those we support. I have also built up excellent relationships with residents' families and friends.

My name is Kathleen, and I have worked in the care sector all of my working life. I believe I have a good understanding of our residents' needs and always do my utmost to accommodate them.
I love to make home-cooked dishes from scratch and always promote a nutritional diet. I enjoy cooking traditional dishes that residents can relate to and look as good as they taste.
On the naughty but nice side, I pride myself on baking some delicious cakes and biscuits for residents to enjoy.
Nothing is too much trouble, and I will always do my best to create a wonderful dining experience for the Corrina Community.
