My uncle was looked after beautifully at Cranmer Court. He was discharged from hospital, and received kindness and care in a lovely setting. He was only at Cranmer Court for a short time but it was a kind and compassionate, peaceful convalescence for him. God bless.

It is very difficult to entrust a loved one to the care of others. I felt generally my mother was well looked after but at weekends it seemed the center was less well staffed. A few items of clothing seem to have got lost and a battery-operated shaver. It would have been nice if the activities staff
spent a little more time just being with her, as a company. It was a real pity mum couldn't talk and people couldn't get to know about her life and her personality, how lovely she was. Sometimes we felt more time, care and gentle persuasion with feeding would have been good.

My Father was at Cranmer Court for two weeks respite, whilst Mum was in hospital. Right from day one he was welcomed by every person he had contact with warmth and a reassuring smile.
The care he received has been amazing and he has regained his spirit and sense of humour. We will be sad to leave
but if circumstances change, we would love Dad to return. A heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you, but special mention to a member of staff in particular - you are a joy.

Thank you so much for your help in getting our nan into respite care so quickly. During such a stressful time Cranmer Court arranged the room within a few hours and made the transition from hospital a lot easier for us. It really helped with our nan's recovery and knowing she was getting around-the-clock
care from such a lovely team was a huge relief. Highly recommended!

Having seen many care homes, this one stood out for us in the friendliness of all the staff and the very high quality of the entire building and grounds. We put Mum in there in January and have been blown away by the standard of care and friendliness of all the staff. They constantly engage with their
residents on first-name terms and win their trust very quickly. They arrange daily activities so that even if they don’t want to join in they have a laugh and joke with them and keep them entertained. Very impressed with the dining room, which looks like a lovely restaurant and taking to there for their meals encourages them to eat. Cannot rate this home and staff highly enough.

Our father chose Cranmer Court himself for his end of life care, following his terminal diagnosis earlier this year. This proved to be an excellent decision as he was very well looked after right up to the end of his life. The staff were exceptional. In the last few weeks of his life, he was at pains
to reassure us (on numerous occasions) how kind and caring the staff were with him; from the entertainment staff popping in for a quick chat, the kitchen making food not on the menu to tempt him to eat, to the professional medical care from the nursing staff and the carers encouragement and assistance with personal care. My sister and I would not hesitate to recommend Cranmer Court to anyone seeking a care home to look after them or their loved ones.

My mother was a resident in Cranmer Court for 18 months following a severe stroke. The care there was excellent.
Once she settled in we all agreed that she was able to receive better care there than at home. The facilities were a very high standard and easier to use, allowing her more dignity. Her
room was spacious and light with a beautiful view.
She enjoyed the food, company and activities which gave an interest and richness to life that she couldn't access at home. She loved the musical events and, even with severe disabilities, got a lot of fun and satisfaction from the exercise sessions and different groups.
The home was very accommodating and helpful to visitors, hairdresser and physiotherapist.
The staff were very friendly and became her friends.
We are really glad that she was able to move there and have the security of a safe, caring and comfortable environment.
I would like to thank the staff for giving her the care and quality of life that she experienced there.

Out of all the care and nursing homes I looked at for my mother, I came away from Cranmer Court knowing ‘this was the one’. It is spacious, airy, welcoming and in a lovely setting. I can’t speak highly enough of the manager, who I found to be kind, caring and supportive - this permeates through her
team. Every member of staff I encountered I found to be empathetic and super helpful. Each time I visited I felt incredibly grateful and relieved that my mother was there.

The building is very good for its purpose, with the bedrooms large enough without being overlarge. The grounds and view beyond I can only describe as 'stunning'. I couldn't wish for better. For me, this can lift my mood considerably. Regarding meal times, I don't understand why lunch, the main meal
of the day, requires us to be seated at 12:30, when the main course regularly arrived at the upstairs dining room at 13:00/13:15. Although, the starter was always available at 12:30. I was very impressed that all the staff knew my first name, that always gives a good impression. I had a slight issue with the timing of the medication, but being an 'early to bed and early riser coupled with being at the end of the corridor didn't help. But, overall my stay has been first-class.

Finding a care home that will provide a professional and caring service is obviously the goal, but in our experience the lovely team at Cranmer Court go above and beyond. There is a real human touch and real empathy for the residents.
The home itself is well designed and kept spotlessly clean. It’s
situated in a lovely spot on Farley Common with a beautiful garden that provides a peaceful and restful space.
Families are welcomed and encouraged. The residents are able to make the rooms their own, many of them with views over the well kept garden.

In the short time, my mum was at Cranmer Court, she received the best care I could ever wish for. The staff all treated her with love, respect and dignity. I was frequently kept up to date by her doctor and advised beforehand should they be changing or adding to her medication. Reception was always
welcoming and helpful when visiting or when telephoning in. Five stars awarded to the chef for the wonderful food he presented day after day. Equally, my father and I were treated thoughtfully with offers of tea, coffee and delicious home-baked cake on our visits. I would highly recommend Cranmer Court to anyone looking for a caring home for their loved one.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.741)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.741) out of 10 for Cranmer Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 23 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.741 for Cranmer Court is calculated as follows: ( (212 Excellents x 5) + (54 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 274 Ratings = 4.741
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cranmer Court is based on 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 62 registered maximum number of service users is 12.4, which has been reached with 22 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
