I spent 10 days at Waverley Grange after having surgery and I have to say, it was the best decision I could have made to aid my recovery. My room was perfect for my needs, quiet, peaceful and when I opened my patio door, I was in a beautiful garden. The staff, day and night, were superb and all of them could not do enough to help in any situation and at all times were very professional. I would highly recommend Waverley Grange to anyone who find themselves in the same situation as I was in, great place, great people, well done.
Thank you for your review of Waverley Grange, we are pleased that you had a pleasant stay with us during your recovery. We appreciate your comments of the staff and glad you liked your surroundings. We will share your review with the home's manager. The Bupa Customer Care Team.
My husband stayed at Waverley Grange for 3 weeks for respite care. During this time he received excellent care from attentive and friendly staff. Mealtimes are a highlight with ample and varied meals which he thoroughly enjoyed. Unfortunately, he couldn't be persuaded to participate in the many activities.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear that your Husband had a positive short stay with us at Waverley Grange and that he enjoyed the food there. We appreciate your comments on the staff and will share your feedback with the home's manager. The Bupa Customer Care Team
Although we would both visit regularly, we felt at ease, that our dear mum was in safe and loving hands, with her needs met by the services this professional nursing home provides, that we could not have provided ourselves, to the extent that she required. This allowed our mother the dignity she deserved in the last remaining month's of a very active and proud life.
Well done all at Waverley!
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your family's positive experience at Waverley Grange. Our residents' dignity, health and wellbeing is our absolute priority and we appreciate your comments of our home. We will share your comments with the home's manager. The Bupa Customer Care Team.
I have put don't know against activities as my husband was too ill to participate in any of them but what was on offer looked very good and varied.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear your lovely comments about our home and our staff. We appreciate what a difficult time it must have been for you and your family so we are glad to know that our staff went above and beyond the call of duty.
My mum had a hospital appointment which I attended with her in a wheelchair taxi, however upon leaving the appointment, we were unable to get a taxi back to the home. The Resident Experience Manager kindly offered to come along and pick us up. The Home Manager, came along to give a helping hand also. We laughed and sang all the way home, reminiscing about trips to the seaside, and fish and chips on the pier which made it more relaxed and happy as my mum was getting upset and agitated for the thought of being stranded at the hospital.
A huge thank you again for the outstanding care you are delivering at the home.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments about our excellent staff. It is lovely to hear you had such a personable, friendly service.
My mother has received excellent care and understanding from the staff. I would say that the food could improve and perhaps the provision of fresh fruit.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments about our home and will share your comments with the home’s manager.
Thank you so much for the bridge table. It has made a huge difference. My mother and friends are all delighted. Indeed having the opportunity to play bridge twice a week is hugely important for my mother as it provides a continuity with her life prior to coming to Waverley Grange, as well as a sense of pride in being able to continue with challenging mental activities even at the age of 101.
Thank you for your review. I'm so pleased that your mother and her friends can continue to enjoy their games of bridge together. It is the little things like this that make all the difference.
My mother in law entered the home on end of life care after a serious stroke. The facility was excellent, the staff very caring and friendly.
So sorry to hear of your loss. Please accept our condolences. Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments about our home and will share your comments with the home’s manager.
To all the amazing staff at Waverley Grange. Thank you so much for all your kindness and support to our family. Sadly losing Mum was very difficult, but the care she received was amazing. With all our love, all the family.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us in such a difficult time for all the family. Thank you for choosing Bupa.
A very pleasant and comfortable environment. Staff are friendly, helpful and caring. Always felt that dad was safe and being well looked after. The only minor criticism being that on weekends there did on occasions seem to be a lack of staff on duty.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments of our home and will share your comments with the home’s manager. The Bupa Customer Care Team.
I have been very pleased with the home, the care that my brother has received over the past 4 months and also with the staff. The staff are always pleasant and very helpful.
Thank you for your review. So glad that your brother is receiving excellent care and that you can relax knowing that he is looked after. The Bupa Customer care team.
Just want to say a big thank you to everyone who made my mum's birthday very special yesterday. I feel everyone went the extra mile which is very much appreciated as I know how hard you all work. It was very nice that a cake was made for her and everyone sang her happy birthday to celebrate. Also, I believe it was one of the care assistants who also made a big effort to make my mum feel good on her special day by doing her hair and painting her nails. Thanks again to all.
Thank you for your review, we appreciate your feedback. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and happy birthday to your mum, we will pass the comments onto the home manager.

We feel ourselves at home at Waverley Grange. We come in, we stay, and we don't want to leave. Unbelievable but true, I have never seen a place like this before. Staff are everywhere but discrete night and day, extremely focused, skilled and professional. No panicking.
Good communication between doctors, nurses and family. It looks like an orchestra where every instrument plays kindness, respect - all in harmony. The architecture of the building definitely plays a good part in the good energy.
Bravo.
The staff at Waverley Grange treated my relative with care and dignity She was happier in their care than she had been in a long time. Towards the end, nurses were with her all the time - chatting and just holding her hand when family members couldn't be there. A lovely, welcoming and supportive care home.
Thank you for sharing such a lovely review. I am so pleased that your relative was happy during her stay. I will pass on your kind words to the home manager. The Bupa Customer Care Team.
I was a resident in Waverley Grange Nursing Home for only 3 months but was treated with the utmost care. The staff were excellent from the management to all other personnel. Couldn;t fault anyone, their friendliness and courtesy and nothing was too much trouble. They were all dedicated to their jobs, including handyman, laundry staff and the chef, who also seems to be forgotten while working being the scenes half the time. I cannot praise them enough but would like to say a big thank you and keep up the good work.
Thank you for your review. Your comments are extremely important to us and our residents’ health and wellbeing are our absolute priority. We will discuss your feedback with the home’s manager to help them continually improve their service. The Bupa Customer Care Team.
Wonderful care home. Full respect is given to residents and relatives. Cannot fault the care or attention to detail given. Always encouraging relatives to achieve their maximum potential and join in with all activities and functions.

On arrival at the home, you are always welcomed by a very nice pleasant, efficient and helpful receptionist. Any queries regarding finance and admin are equally dealt with in a pleasant and helpful way by admin staff. The interior decor is very pleasant and welcoming and coffee and cake is available in the reception area. The care staff are always willing to listen to any concerns and update you on any changes of care that they suggest before implementing. The care staff are always very caring and kind to my friend who requires a great deal of care. I always leave my visit feeling that she is receiving the best care possible.
Though generally, the staff are very good, communication appears poor at times. It can at times, be difficult to obtain the relevant and up to date information, concerning my mother's physical health and mental state. The Relative and Residents meetings do not always appear to reflect the concerns or views of nursing residents. This presumably, is owing to the fact that few are likely to be able to attend as relatives live a distance away. A system whereby relatives unable to attend could have some input on behalf on those unable to express their wishes and concerns would be very helpful. It has been disappointing that there have been no trips in the last few months, something that I am sure gives a great deal of pleasure for all those unable to get out and about.
I have written 'poor' for my Mother's room. When she first arrived at WG, her room was clean, bright and spacious. We were happy this was to be her home. Too often now it is cluttered with clothes not put away (not always even her own), her magazines incl TV, are out of reach. Her buzzer is often not with her. Empty cups of water, tea etc on the trolley, medical notes on the bed, debris on the bathroom floor.
Staff are usually really lovely but often rushed and busy - not enough of them?Poor communication between staff and between staff and relatives.
We feel general standards have deteriorated over the last year.
Value for money ? We have no idea as we have no experience of other Care Homes.
Thank you for your review. Your comments are extremely important to us and our residents’ health and well-being is our absolute priority. We will discuss your feedback with the home’s manager to help them continually improve their service. The Bupa Customer Care Team.
The care which is being given to my aunt is of an exemplary standard. Although very much compos mentis, she is bedridden in extreme old age with arthritis and can do very little for herself, but she is kept comfortable and clean. Her hair, nails and clothes are well-tended, and the nursing staff keep a close eye on her health requirements.
My aunt enjoys having a choice of menu each day, together with a glass of sherry at lunchtime! She retains a keen sense of humour which is usually directed at the nursing and care staff, and they react well to her teasing. They seem to enjoy her company and often pop into her room to pass some moments in her company.
The administrative staff at Waverley Grange are friendly and approachable and on the occasion of my aunt's 100th birthday in December 2015, they arranged for a splendid buffet lunch to be served in her bedroom to family members who came to celebrate the memorable occasion with her.
Thank you for your review, we appreciate your feedback. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments about our home and will share your comments with the home’s manager. The Bupa Customer Care Team.
