Waverley Grange suits my mothers needs extremely well. My mum was in a very poor state of health but within a week of being at the care home she responded very well to the diligent care and careful monitoring. She is now back to eating and drinking liquids to excellent levels. She is happy and comfortable in her day to day routine. Access to see her is no problem, with of course the necessary Covid precautions and testing. The staff are very friendly and the management is superb.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is so good to know that your Mum's health has vastly improved with the care provided at Waverley Grange and that she is happy and comfortable.
Lacking in equipment which can be long waits. Room is a bit cramped and care staff need to open more space to sort this especially in the shower room. I was told to treat this as if it were my own home but because of Covid this is not easy.
Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear about your experience at Waverley Grange and the long waits for equipment. Our resident's health and well-being is our absolute priority, I have passed your comments on to the home manager who will arrange a meeting with you to discuss this in more detail and rectify any ongoing issues immediately.
Mum has been at Waverley Grange for six years now since a fall which left her unable to stand or walk and needing 24 hr nursing care. Waverley Grange was newly opened at the time and we have seen changes over the years. However, the care Mum has received has been excellent. Many of the staff have formed lasting relationships with her, they think of her needs and wants and she has been largely physically and mentally comfortable throughout. Mum is now approaching the end of her life and the team at Waverley Grange have made every effort to enable me to spend some time with her despite the circumstance and necessary control measures around Covid-19. The team have always been responsive, helpful and caring and, while no-one wants to end up in long-term nursing care, we couldn't have wished for a more positive experience.
Thank you for your kind words. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your Mum in our care.
One of the best care homes I've seen or been associated with. My mother was well looked after.
Thank you for trusting us with your mother's care and for the kind words.
My husband was well looked after during his short residency. They also looked after me when I visited, especially during his last two weeks. He was treated with kindness and respect right up to the end (and also afterwards).
Thank you for taking the time to leave such kind comments Mrs Davies.
My wife entered Waverley Grange Care Home in May 2019 being given a short time to live. She was very dependent and unable to walk, but with her determination and the excellent care given to her, she walked out of Waverley and came back home at Christmas. I, my daughter and our family cannot thank all of the staff enough from the manager to the nursing, caring, cleaning, laundry, maintenance staff and the gardener. One and all, I will recommend you.
Thank you for your praise. It is always delightful to hear back from the families of our residents.
My mother was a resident at Waverley Grange for almost a year. She received wonderful care and support during that time. The consistency of care and quality of the staff was extremely high. Her care was beautifully tailored to meet her needs and the welcoming and friendly atmosphere always made the daily visits really enjoyable. A lovely home full of lovely, dedicated folk.
Thank you for your praise, we really appreciate the kind words.
I was so impressed with the high standard of care for the people that are in your care. The staff could not have done more to make our visit so successful to visit a friend. We were made to feel so welcome.
Thank you for your kind words. We are very happy to hear you felt welcome when visiting. We hope to see you again soon.
Special thanks to the lady for phoning me in time to say goodbye to mum.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a kind review. Thank you, again, for trusting us with your mother's care.
Mum moved into Waverley Grange following Dad's death last November. She missed him terribly but the kindness and care shown by all the staff enabled her to make the best of her last months. She really appreciated the coffee machine in the small cafe and the chance this gave her to get to know other residents and visitors. Staff respected her opinions and preferences and did all they could to accommodate them. She wanted to return to Waverley Grange from hospital to die and was able to do so peacefully.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are saddened about your loss and thank you for trusting us with your mothers care.
I would have no hesitation in booking mum in again for another respite week should the need arise.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are glad to help you and your family and we hope to see you soon!
My mother moved to Waverley Grange nearly four years ago when she became too frail to stay in her own house. We live just a few minutes away, so it was ideal for us to be able to visit her frequently and have her round to our house. We were extremely impressed with the care and attention shown by all the staff, and as her health deteriorated it was greatly reassuring to know that nursing care was available if necessary. It was also reassuring that many of the core members of the team cared for her throughout her time there, so we really felt that they got to know her. At the end of her life, they were all very supportive and helpful. The surroundings were always pleasant and well-maintained. Food was always a difficult issue for my mother, but they were very accommodating and would always find something she liked. She was not a particularly sociable character, and although they did their best, she did not choose to join in with many of the activities.
Thank you for your kind words. We have a genuine regard for all of our residents, therefore we are very pleased to hear you could feel at ease when trusting us with your mum's care.
Very well looked after, exceptional staff.
My mother was in the home for 5 years. I cannot compliment the staff enough for their care and support. Their team looking after my mother were always there to help, so caring and were amazing in Mum's last few months. The manager was close to each of the residents and so reassuring to see his hands-on approach to caring. My thanks to everyone at Waverley Grange for making my mothers stay so pleasant. We will miss you all.

My family were very disappointed with our mother’s experience at Waverley Grange. Mum went for respite here after an illness left her too weak to be at home. It was intended that she spend a few weeks at Waverley Grange to rest and recover before going back to her own home. Waverley Grange failed to deliver the level of care that we would have expected from such a large and well-known company as BUPA. There did not appear to be sufficient staff on the nursing floor which meant that family had to visit every day to ensure Mum was receiving the care she deserved and needed. We had many issues during the two week period that our mum was at Waverley Grange but generally, it was staff not following the care plan on several occasions. Our mother was left with no nightwear at least twice and had to sleep in her underwear. We moved mum to another local care home where she is being looked after by the lovely staff and she is much happier.
Thank you for your review of Waverley Grange. We take all comments extremely seriously and are very disappointed to hear that you are unsatisfied with your experience of care at one of our homes. Our residents’ health and wellbeing is our absolute priority. We would like to contact you so that we...
For the brief time he was a resident, his care was first class.

I was very impressed by the standard of facilities, accommodation and care at the home. The kindness shown by staff in the last days were particularly appreciated and displayed a recognition of residents' individual characters and needs. I just wish such a standard of care was accessible to all.

My mother has been living in Waverley Grange for 2 and a half years and I can't fault the love and care she has been given. In recent months she's needed far more help with day to day living as her confusion has worsened. The wonderful team treat her with respect and encourage her to join in with all activities instead of just sitting in her room. I can enjoy my visits without worrying over the day to day living of my mother - thank you.

I have worked at the home for seven years and have been managing enquiries and show-around for the last two years. The best part of the job is seeing our residents so happy and getting to work with our amazing team.
I live locally to the home, and in my free time I enjoy exploring the outdoors. I love being active, whether that be cycling or swimming in the sea.
