Priory Court has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. All the various staff including management, nursing/care, physio, reception, activities, cleaning, catering and maintenance, are cheerful and friendly. My mother was looked after with care and kindness during her 12 week respite stay. The managers were
always approachable and helpful both before and during her stay.
If respite care were needed at another time I would be very happy for my mother to stay there again.

Overall care is excellent. Mum is well looked after on the nursing dementia unit. She seems happy although dementia is "challenging". She gets the occasional trip out which is good, eats well and is always clean and presentable in matching clothes. Overall good job by all staff on the unit.

My aunt is treated with great respect (at times she can be somewhat difficult). She is always clean (clothes changed if she spills some food). She is always encouraged to take a drink. We are made very welcome when we visit and kept informed of any medication suggested by doctor/staff nurse.
The care
assistants are all delightful and I am very comfortable with regards to her overall care and so pleased that I was able to get her into Priory Court.

The staff are very caring and helpful. The food is good and varied. The residents are kept busy with all the various activities morning and afternoon.


The cost is very high but at least I know my husband is cared for day and night. His room is always clean and tidy.

All the staff are caring and cheerful, nice people.

This care home is listed as one of the best around this area. However, there is more could be done and altered in certain areas. The gardens are well maintained and trim the trees etc. Food, on the whole, is good but could be more variety. Fire drill is done here but should be done more often.

Since my husband has been resident in the nursing section, I have been very happy with the care he has received. The staff are all friendly, helpful and caring. The residents are stimulated by having quizzes/films/games morning and afternoon. There is a choice of menus each day and visitors can also
have a meal if they wish. My family had a great Christmas dinner with my husband.

Have been a few issues but these have generally been resolved. Slight lack of continuity with information. Staff very kind overall. Excellent menu and food choice. Is there a shortage of staff? I have been fortunate with the home my daughter, brother and nursing friends have chosen for me. When I arrived 4 months ago, I was totally dependent and needed two carers to get me out of bed, washed and dressed. Reduced one carer fairly quickly I now can do most things for myself. Only need occasional
help with washing hair. Can now walk unaided but use a stick when not confident. Hopeful to be back in my own home very swiftly due in many ways to the care received at Priory Court but also due to my own determination.

We have been so happy with the care provided by all members of the team. Without exception, everyone I've spoken to has been friendly and helpful. Care is provided promptly and with a willing and pleasant attitude - qualified nurses, unqualified care assistants, cleaning and kitchen staff plus management.

My name is Biba Mijalceva, and I am the newly appointed Deputy Manager at Priory Court Care Home.


I bring nearly 20 years of experience working with individuals living with acquired or traumatic brain injury, as well as neurological conditions in a hospital setting.


Throughout my career, I have progressed from a junior nurse to a senior nurse, ward sister, and ward manager, honing my knowledge, clinical skills, and abilities.


Before joining the Future Care Group, I served as a Deputy Manager for over 6 years in a privately funded residential care home. My professional journey has equipped me with a deep passion for my work, and I am always ready to face challenges.


I place a high value on honesty and transparency, believing in an open-door policy. In caring for our residents, I prioritise understanding, empathy, and an open mind. I am open to ideas that can enhance and make a positive difference in the lives of our community.


I am thrilled to be a part of the warm and caring family at Priory Court. I am eager to contribute to enhancing the daily lives of our residents and look forward to the journey ahead.

My name is Debbie and I work at the front desk at Priory Court. I assist with both, reception and administration, and am always happy to help people.


I enjoy chatting to and getting to know the families of the residents and the residents themselves. Being able to improve their lives provides me with a great sense of fulfilment.

Job Title: Lifestyle Lead Joined: 2022

My name is Fiona, and I joined the team in November 2022 as a Lifestyles Assistant. When the role of Lead became available, I immediately put my name forward as I wanted to step up in making a difference and supporting the residents, enabling them to have fun and engage in activities.


I have worked in the care sector for the past 30 years as a carer, and then I became a team leader and medication technician in care homes. I have always involved myself in the activities at the care homes.


I am very crafty and enjoy the challenge of making things for different occasions.


I have a great team with me here, and I look forward to working with the residents and their families.

Mandy Melia

Job Title: Residential Support Manager Joined: 2003

Hello, I'm Mandy, the Residential Home Manager. I have been at Priory Court for nearly 13 years, where I started working as a care assistant with no experience in the residential unit and thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the residents and working with them. This encouraged me to achieve my NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.


After a couple of years, I was promoted to senior care assistant on the nursing unit. This helped me gain more knowledge to complete my NVQ Level 3.


I was then promoted to Senior Care Officer and transferred back to the Residential Unit. I was a Senior Care Officer for around 6 six years before finding the confidence in myself to accomplish NVQ Level 5 in Management and Leadership in Health and Social Care.

2 years later I am now the Head of Residential Services for Priory Court.


Although the role can be very challenging at times, I still enjoy working with and developing relationships with the residents, and their families.

Charles Ashton

Job Title: Maintenance Manager Joined: 2015

I left school at 15 years old and became a plasterer, a trade I stayed with for many years. I worked for various companies and eventually became self-employed for some time. I then entered into the refurbishment management sector, working for various companies. I was involved in many projects such as care homes and housing developments; some of these projects went on for five or six years.


I came to work to Priory Court in September 2015. I'd say the camaraderie with the staff is fantastic and I just love the warm and welcoming atmosphere here. It's very satisfying seeing everyone so happy and always helping each other.


I enjoy making our home and facilities safe for residents, their loved ones and our staff.

Jerome Koh

Job Title: Head Chef Joined: 2021

I joined Priory Court in 2021 as a chef assistant and quickly advanced to Deputy Chef. I am now delighted to have been promoted to Head Chef.


I love creating cakes for our residents and seeing their expressions of appreciation; it truly melts my heart.


Originally from the Philippines, I became a chef there before moving to Canada, where I worked for three years. I then moved to England to be with my wife and started working at Priory Court. I hold a Diploma in Culinary and Pastry Arts, a National Certificate II, and British Standards in Hotel and Restaurant Management.


I am excited to continue contributing to the Priory Court community.

Job Title: Head of Housekeeping

I have been doing housekeeping nearly all my life and I really enjoy it. I applied for a position at Priory Court as I had never worked in a care home environment before and I thought it would be a challenge. When I got the job, I realised I was not wrong, but I absolutely love my job and it is the best choice I have ever made. I enjoy coming to work every day and I have been here over 2 years now and hope to be here for many more.
