Excellent
Out mother has Dementia and moved at Easter this year to Cooper Beech, from another local Dementia unit. Every member of staff is friendly, caring, professional and this made the transition easier for us. Their knowledge and coping mechanisms for Dementia sufferers are very evident. Our family feel comforted and confident knowing that our mother is safe and very well cared for. The whole team are very friendly and welcoming when we visit, I would have no hesitation in highly recommending Copper Beech.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such lovely feedback.
My family and I are very happy with the way my husband is cared for and will not hesitate to recommend Copper Beech Care Home.
Thank you for your praise, Gillian. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your husband in our care.
My mum had also been in previously for respite, which again, was also excellent.
Thank you for your kind words. We are very saddened about your loss and we hope we did everything possible to help the family through such a difficult time.
Very supportive and friendly. Environmentally pleasant. More light would be appreciated. I feel so much more well in myself. Thank you Copper Beech, now able to get about and be part of the wider community.

I approached Copper Beech management to see if they could provide nursing care for my Aunt when she came out of hospital. They were very open about care level ability, showed me round at short notice and explained clearly what was available. When she left hospital they welcomed her and made every effort to ensure she was comfortable and reassured as to safety and care.

It's a very nice place to come to. The staff are delightful in every way and have made me feel welcome. I have been here twice before and my husband died here. The caring staff couldn't be kinder or more considerate and the nursing staff as well. The food is good. I fully recommend Copper Beech.

My mother has been a resident for 8 months and is happy with the care she receives. The staff are friendly and respond reasonably quickly when called. The room is well-appointed and the standard of cleanliness is excellent. My only reservation is that my mother's room faces the sun for much of the day so can be too hot for her to sit in her chair next to the window. She would like to be taken into the garden more often. A good and varied menu is offered for each mealtime.

My mother has been at Copper Beech for 4 weeks and during that time, her behaviour has been challenging to say the least. At all times, the staff have treated her fantastically. I could not fault any one of them. The home is clean, calm and welcoming and I sincerely hope in time that mum will come to appreciate her lovely surroundings.

We are very pleased with mum's care. She has been here since the end of last year. They deal with mum in a very caring way. She took a while to settle in but it has given us peace of mind knowing that she is well looked after. All of the staff are lovely.

He loves it there and I can't praise the management or staff highly enough for their care.
He is treated with kindness and dignity.
There is always something going on if he wants to join in but has the quiet and privacy of his room if he doesn't.
Thank you for your lovely review about our home and staff at Copper Beech and I'm glad to hear that your husband is happy and comfortable there.
Everything was very good. Staff were excellent but I felt there should be a few more staff on at times.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments of our home.
The staff are attentive and seem to know the personal requirements/personality of each resident.
I leave him every day knowing that he is in safe hands.
Thank you for your review. I'm so glad to hear that your dad has settled well and that he is joining in with all the different activities and enjoying his food.
From the day my mum began her stay for palliative care, to the time she passed away, all the staff and nurses were first class, we could not fault them. Thank you.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss, please accept our condolences. Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments of our home and will share your comments with the home’s manager.
From the beginning of her stay she was warmly welcomed. Her room was ready, there was a very pretty hand written card to welcome her giving the name of the sister and her initial carer, a very nice personal touch.
Her room and ensuite facility were clean. Two windows were open just enough to let some air in the room, allowing it to be warm and welcoming.
During my mother's stay we were allowed to come and go as we liked. We personalised her room to help her feel at home.
Every member of staff we encountered was friendly and helpful and seemed to be on hand to answer any questions with ease. They were all caring, kind and professional and nothing was too much trouble. I am also certain that when I wasn't there my mum always knew there was a member of staff not too far away.
Mum although having palliative care told me on a few visits how nice the staff were and how she'd had a joke with some of them. So that was really nice to know.
So sorry to hear of your loss. Please accept our condolences. It is the little things like the card that make such a difference. I'm sure in time to come it will be a comfort to you knowing that she could have a joke and a laugh with the staff and that she was happy.
The overall complaint was the food, one doesn't expect hotel food, but no imagination, poorly cooked green very and over boiled and I would say that the allowance for the food is not very generous.
Thank you for your review. Your comments are extremely important to us and our residents’ health and wellbeing is our absolute priority. We will discuss your feedback with the home’s manager to help them continually improve their service.”
A warm, welcoming nursing home where it is small enough to be family. Tight knit and long-stay team of nurses and carers. Excellent liaising and support from local GP surgery. No unpleasant odour and have experienced committed Rn's who are personal but not over familiar. Well-placed nursing stations for good understanding of all care and safety. Very pleasant patio garden at back. The only disadvantage is that the rooms are very small.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments of our home and will share your comments with the home’s manager. The Bupa Customer Care Team

Meet the Team (1)

I have been working for Bupa since February 2022. I started as a peripatetic manager and I am currently working as the registered home manager at Copper Beech.
I have been working in the care sector for the last 20 years. I was always passionate about caring for people especially elderly vulnerable adults who really need support. As a result, I started to work in the care sector. I worked as a team leader, deputy manager, home manager and regional support manager for various organisations.
I have managed nursing homes, dementia residential homes and learning disability homes during my career and also worked as a regional support manager overseeing three nursing homes before I joined Bupa.
I really enjoy making a difference in and improving our residents' quality of life.
Outside of work, I am married with children. My hobbies include music and travelling. I like to play the guitar in my own time, travel to new places and spend time with my family.
