Located in a pleasant residential area of Eastbourne, Inglewood Nursing Home offers short and long-term nursing and palliative care in charming, period-style accommodation with thoroughly modern facilities.

Within the home there is accommodation for up to 60 residents in bright, comfortable rooms set over two floors. Each room is equipped with a TV, nurse call system and an adjustable automatic bed. All rooms have large windows and attractive views over the picturesque garden, while some on the ground floor open out onto the secure courtyard.

Staff encourage all residents to personalise their room with favourite pictures, photographs, ornaments and small items of furniture, as this helps them to feel at home much more quickly.

There is lift access to the first floor and all areas are wheelchair accessible. Free Wi-fi is available throughout the home, which also has its own hair salon.

Nursing and care staff are on hand 24 hours a day, supported by dedicated chefs as well as activities, administration and housekeeping teams.

Staff really care about each one of the residents and aim to make them feel completely comfortable and at home, whatever the level of care required. Their relationship is central to how happy residents are at Inglewood, and staff work hard to build trusting relationships with both the resident and their family.

Mum went into Inglewood Nursing Home from the hospital for end-of-life care. 3 months later has gone back to her own home. The care she received was excellent.

My Mum was discharged from hospital for end of life care, we were offered a couple of choices of Care Home but this one had good reviews, and the whole family are glad we chose it. She is bedridden and unable to communicate but well cared for, always clean and tidy. The staff are all friendly and check
on her regularly. An online diary you can access gives a detailed account of all the care she receives which we find invaluable, saves interrupting the staff to ask questions, updated regularly. Staff also phone to check we are happy with care or to discuss any changes needed. Happy to recommend to anyone. Thanks to all at Inglewood, have cared for her 2 months and counting.

I have found the managers, the nursing staff and the carers to be friendly and caring. I am pleased I chose Inglewood. My father, although he is sometimes confused, seems happy with his care. He likes the food and his room is nice. They encourage pictures and small bits of furniture from home to make

My mother is well cared for at Inglewood. My mum always seems happy and talks highly of the staff. The staff are always friendly and approachable.
The home is in an old building which needs a bit of updating and upgrading which seems to be happening the home is always very clean.

My husband was discharged from the hospital for end-of-life care at Inglewood Nursing Home. He had a lovely room overlooking the pretty garden. He was there for 10 days until he died and during that time was looked after with great care and dignity. My family and I are very grateful to all the staff
at home for the care and compassion shown to us as well.

My husband was in Inglewood for the last four weeks of his life. It became too much for me to give care at home. He was well cared for with the nursing staff and all the staff were always thoughtful, kind and caring. It took the pressure from me at a difficult time.

My family have been extremely happy with the care my dad has received since he came to Inglewood. My dad seems very happy there and has settled in really well. Dad has spent the last few months in bed, as his Alzehmers has deteriorated and affected his appetite etc, it was decided as dad was struggling
with his swallowing, that now all his food would be smashed for him. Just recently dad seems to have improved slightly and dad has been spending time out of bed and in the day room which has been lovely to see. Inglewood have incouraged dad to venture out of his room and spend time with the other residents.

The staff are caring. The home keeps relatives informed of the health and welfare of residents.
The atmosphere is happy and very welcoming.
The rooms are clean.
The food well prepared and edible. Residents' special requirements are catered for.
The home has an activity coordinator. Activity is
essential for stimulation of the brain, and maintaining mobility and conversation.
I am very satisfied.
I think it would be great if there were phone points in the rooms. Maybe this will happen in the next year when BT will use wifi.

All the staff at Inglewood Nursing Home, from the manager, the reception team and the carers are always very friendly, helpful and attentive and any questions are answered without issue. My generally very anxious 93-year-old mum is settled and is very happy there. A recommendation would not be a problem

I cannot fault the wonderful staff for their care which is first class. Nothing too much trouble and done with good humour and genuine concern. The home is spotless and the amenities are good I have no hesitation in recommending this home to anyone.

Felt we should have been given more time when we first arrived, no initial assessment of my uncle on arrival.
Slow to relay our communications to staff or shared - re. food and feeding.
My uncle was only there three weeks and it was starting to improve and he was more settled.
Overall, I think he
would have been happy to stay.

Dear Sandra, we are sorry to hear that you were unsure about aspects of your uncle's care when he first arrived at the home for his three-week respite stay. As you may know, I completed a full assessment before his admission, where I gathered as much information as possible about all aspects of his health and life, including his food preferences. You had told us that he liked a particular type of breakfast cereal, whereas the resident himself said he preferred another, which we gave him as and when he chose. At mealtimes, he needed help and encouragement, so staff used to sit with him while he ate. He seemed to settle in quickly and the hospice was very pleased with his improvement. Shortly afterwards he moved out of the home to be near the family. We really enjoyed looking after your uncle and would have been more than happy for him to stay with us for longer.

My father-in-law was always clean and fairly happy. Although I feel we were never told when he moved from palliative care to active dying, although Inglewood was told his death was imminent, the family was not told. So not enough communication with the family. Also, most staff were lovely, but some
of the nurses were rude. Access to notes, where given this, are poorly written and not accurate.

My mother-in-law was a resident for 4 years at Inglewood where she was happy and well cared for.
The staff were amazing and knew how to bring out the best in her and most importantly, how to make her laugh.
I would highly recommend Inglewood, it has a lovely homely feel, not soulless like other homes
I looked at.
When she passed they made a sad time easier by giving the best hugs.

My mother was cared for in Inglewood for 8 months. She was always comfortable and well cared for. We are a large family and made frequent visits at irregular times. My mother who was nonverbal was always addressed courteously and respectfully. We felt she was safe.

Although my aged mother was only in the home for 7 months, the care and attention she received was perfect. At 104 years old she was well attended at all times and particularly loved the communal lounge, as she loved the company.

My mother has been a resident at Inglewood Nursing Home for just over six years. She has always been looked after with great care and respect. The staff at Inglewood are all amazing, taking time with her and really anticipating her needs. Sady, my mother died on 22nd December but the staff were fabulous.

I think my wife's last days were made easier by the caring staff. In a short period, they seemed to treat her as if she was a friend or relative.
