Located in a pleasant residential area of Eastbourne, Inglewood Nursing Home offers short and long-term nursing and palliative care in charming, period-style accommodation with thoroughly modern facilities.

Within the home there is accommodation for up to 60 residents in bright, comfortable rooms set over two floors. Each room is equipped with a TV, nurse call system and an adjustable automatic bed. All rooms have large windows and attractive views over the picturesque garden, while some on the ground floor open out onto the secure courtyard.

Staff encourage all residents to personalise their room with favourite pictures, photographs, ornaments and small items of furniture, as this helps them to feel at home much more quickly.

There is lift access to the first floor and all areas are wheelchair accessible. Free Wi-fi is available throughout the home, which also has its own hair salon.

Nursing and care staff are on hand 24 hours a day, supported by dedicated chefs as well as activities, administration and housekeeping teams.

Staff really care about each one of the residents and aim to make them feel completely comfortable and at home, whatever the level of care required. Their relationship is central to how happy residents are at Inglewood, and staff work hard to build trusting relationships with both the resident and their family.

I think my wife's last days were made easier by the caring staff. In a short period, they seemed to treat her as if she was a friend or relative.
All staff made me very welcome when I visited. I was happy that she was in Inglewood Nursing Home.

I am a 90-year-old resident of Inglewood and have been for several months, you may well wonder how or even why someone of my age has been offered to choose to do this. As my family live abroad (New Zealand) I consider this as my home and with all the carers and staff my family and try to treat them
with the respect they are entitled to; it would be wrong to say they always have a smile, after all, they are human, but they still carry out their daily chores and challenges in the professional way they were trained. You will have noted that I only credited the home with “Good” as no one is perfect and again repeat we're all human, but ask if I’d recommend Inglewood, I would have no hesitation in recommending my home to share.

Every day I was met with a smile and hello from the reception as I went up to my mum's room, all the staff said hello. Nurses and carers were lovely, also cleaners. All staff were lovely. Anything I wanted to know was dealt with. My mom was comfortable and I am very grateful to Inglewood Nursing Home
and their amazing staff.

My wife was very happy being in your loving care at Inglewood. She never once complained about anything during her four-week stay with you. All her visitors also said that the staff all gave smiles to welcome visitors and never felt in the way during their visits. Thank you.

When looking for a care home for my mother, when she needed end-of-life care, we called at Inglewood Nursing Home. The receptionist was kind and helpful and showed us available rooms. The move from hospital for my mother was handled perfectly by Inglewood. My mother's room was pleasant, quiet and clean
- everything she needed. Although we always visited her without giving the staff notice, Mum was always clean, with her hair neatly brushed. Her carers were kind and attentive and provided everything she needed.

My experience with Inglewood Nursing Home is, on the whole, positive but there are some shortfalls.
In the lounge area, not enough staff as the residents quite often are left on their own. Not attended to and as a visitor, have had to step in and help some of the residents and my input has not been
received very well.
My husband is well in there but in my opinion, there is not enough stimulation. I know my husband would not be bothered about this but feel sad for some that are still needing some stimulation.
On saying all that, the food is very good and enjoyed by my husband.
Would like more attention to the fact he only enjoys football and rugby on the TV but being unable to turn on the TV on often misses the chance of watching the games as he is not taken into his room and having the TV turned on for him.

We made use of Inglewood Nursing Home for a week's respite. It needed to be able to give my husband a week of efficient care so that I could relax at home, knowing he was being well looked after. The staff are friendly and caring; they responded well to his complex needs. They even took him to his exercise
class midweek. I believe we have finally found a place for him to stay for respite, and we are grateful.

The staff are always friendly and polite. I feel my father is well looked after and really cared for. The staff are good with him; they take a genuine interest in his welfare. When my father first went to Inglewood, he was able to join in the events and games. The team laid on a variety of activities
for him to take part in. The home is kept very clean.

Staff always seem helpful and friendly but are obviously much too busy to spend much time to chat to my aunt. We are only able to come and visit once a week due to the distance involved and she rarely has any other visitors which is a great shame.

Our care and housekeeping staff love to chat to residents in their rooms while going about their daily routine and our activities team arranges regular well-being visits for residents who need/prefer to stay in their rooms. These can include hand massages, reading, playing card games, doing puzzles and chatting over a cup of tea. However, we are happy to arrange more room visits and can also support your aunt to make video calls to you between visits. The other thing we can offer is to set you up on our online portal. This portal provides access to your aunt’s day-to-day notes and information about her care including meals, daily routine and well-being activities. You can message us back and also upload photos. Please contact me about setting you up on the system and if you have any other suggestions as to how we could help your aunt.

The first impression at reception is pleasing and welcoming. All staff and newcomers are helpful and cheerful in this homely atmosphere. We were shown to a lovely, clean ensuite room with a view, and all were in good order.
Laundry was expertly taken care of, and meals were thoughtfully presented.
All duties are carried out with respect and compassion. Being able to visit any time is excellent.

Staff are very caring but sometimes I feel things are missed unless raised by family. For example, recently my mum is hard of hearing, this was never a problem before May but looks like no one else has noticed that until we raised it.

My dad came to Inglewood Nursing Home in the middle of April for various reasons but the minute we moved him in, he was welcomed with open arms, he felt happy and safe. The staff were very friendly and always helpful.
Unfortunately, his time with them was cut short but even in his last hours the staff
were caring, supportive and gave my dad the utmost dignity and respect. Can't thank them enough.

Nursing home is warm. Food is very good. Entertainment poor, leaves a lot to be desired, too much other work not connected with job. Some excellent staff mainstay of the home. Agency staff are not so good, English to be desired, all should be able to communicate to residents, also to carry out management
instructions.
