My father-in-law was always clean and fairly happy. Although I feel we were never told when he moved from palliative care to active dying, although Inglewood was told his death was imminent, the family was not told. So not enough communication with the family. Also, most staff were lovely, but some of the nurses were rude. Access to notes, where given this, are poorly written and not accurate.

Reply from Rani Raju, Home Manager at Inglewood Nursing Home

We are pleased to hear that your father-in-law was happy at the home during the time that he was with us. However, we can only apologise to you unreservedly about the instance of poor communication that you refer to. The nurse on duty at the time is no longer working for Inglewood Nursing Home. We...

My mother-in-law was a resident for 4 years at Inglewood where she was happy and well cared for.
The staff were amazing and knew how to bring out the best in her and most importantly, how to make her laugh.
I would highly recommend Inglewood, it has a lovely homely feel, not soulless like other homes I looked at.

When she passed they made a sad time easier by giving the best hugs.

My mother was cared for in Inglewood for 8 months. She was always comfortable and well cared for. We are a large family and made frequent visits at irregular times. My mother who was nonverbal was always addressed courteously and respectfully. We felt she was safe.

Although my aged mother was only in the home for 7 months, the care and attention she received was perfect. At 104 years old she was well attended at all times and particularly loved the communal lounge, as she loved the company.

My mother has been a resident at Inglewood Nursing Home for just over six years. She has always been looked after with great care and respect. The staff at Inglewood are all amazing, taking time with her and really anticipating her needs. Sady, my mother died on 22nd December but the staff were fabulous. I have always been so pleased that we chose Inglewood as her nursing home.

I think my wife's last days were made easier by the caring staff. In a short period, they seemed to treat her as if she was a friend or relative.

All staff made me very welcome when I visited. I was happy that she was in Inglewood Nursing Home.

I am a 90-year-old resident of Inglewood and have been for several months, you may well wonder how or even why someone of my age has been offered to choose to do this. As my family live abroad (New Zealand) I consider this as my home and with all the carers and staff my family and try to treat them with the respect they are entitled to; it would be wrong to say they always have a smile, after all, they are human, but they still carry out their daily chores and challenges in the professional way they were trained. You will have noted that I only credited the home with “Good” as no one is perfect and again repeat we're all human, but ask if I’d recommend Inglewood, I would have no hesitation in recommending my home to share.

Every day I was met with a smile and hello from the reception as I went up to my mum's room, all the staff said hello. Nurses and carers were lovely, also cleaners. All staff were lovely. Anything I wanted to know was dealt with. My mom was comfortable and I am very grateful to Inglewood Nursing Home and their amazing staff.

When looking for a care home for my mother, when she needed end-of-life care, we called at Inglewood Nursing Home. The receptionist was kind and helpful and showed us available rooms. The move from hospital for my mother was handled perfectly by Inglewood. My mother's room was pleasant, quiet and clean - everything she needed. Although we always visited her without giving the staff notice, Mum was always clean, with her hair neatly brushed. Her carers were kind and attentive and provided everything she needed.

Review from Gwen P (Wife of Resident) published on 25 September 2023 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My experience with Inglewood Nursing Home is, on the whole, positive but there are some shortfalls.
In the lounge area, not enough staff as the residents quite often are left on their own. Not attended to and as a visitor, have had to step in and help some of the residents and my input has not been received very well.
My husband is well in there but in my opinion, there is not enough stimulation. I know my husband would not be bothered about this but feel sad for some that are still needing some stimulation.
On saying all that, the food is very good and enjoyed by my husband.

Would like more attention to the fact he only enjoys football and rugby on the TV but being unable to turn on the TV on often misses the chance of watching the games as he is not taken into his room and having the TV turned on for him.

We made use of Inglewood Nursing Home for a week's respite. It needed to be able to give my husband a week of efficient care so that I could relax at home, knowing he was being well looked after. The staff are friendly and caring; they responded well to his complex needs. They even took him to his exercise class midweek. I believe we have finally found a place for him to stay for respite, and we are grateful.

The staff are always friendly and polite. I feel my father is well looked after and really cared for. The staff are good with him; they take a genuine interest in his welfare. When my father first went to Inglewood, he was able to join in the events and games. The team laid on a variety of activities for him to take part in. The home is kept very clean.

Staff always seem helpful and friendly but are obviously much too busy to spend much time to chat to my aunt. We are only able to come and visit once a week due to the distance involved and she rarely has any other visitors which is a great shame.

The first impression at reception is pleasing and welcoming. All staff and newcomers are helpful and cheerful in this homely atmosphere. We were shown to a lovely, clean ensuite room with a view, and all were in good order.

Laundry was expertly taken care of, and meals were thoughtfully presented. All duties are carried out with respect and compassion. Being able to visit any time is excellent.

Staff are very caring but sometimes I feel things are missed unless raised by family. For example, recently my mum is hard of hearing, this was never a problem before May but looks like no one else has noticed that until we raised it.
