Overall Experience
My father-in-law has been at Lauriston for about 10 months- he has extremely poor memory and has always had quite a strong personality. He has no insight into his condition and doesn't remember very much about his days, but the team always involve him in activities, treating him with dignity, warmth and understanding, even when he can be quite challenging. We are welcomed when we visit, communication with the team is very easy and they are knowledgeable: a very different experience from the previous location in which he was living.
The environment is extremely clean and well maintained, with attention to detail and the food is always fresh and well presented.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Lauriston to anyone who is looking for a quality place for their family member.

An absolutely wonderful care home. The staff are attentive, caring, professional and communicative. Nothing seems to be too much trouble. Quality in every respect.

Every single member of staff at Lauriston have been amazing! My parents moved to Lauriston a couple of weeks before Christmas and everyone has been so welcoming and utterly engaged with facilitating all that has to be done for a smooth and positive outcome from admin and housekeeping, nursing and medical to activity engagement. My parents have been encouraged to meet other residents and join activities that go on throughout the week and have even been taken on an outing to the pantomime. My parents are very happy and have settled well into their new home, thank you, team! Lauriston is a welcoming home; clean and tidy, carpeted and well-decorated with comfy chairs and a homely feel. Different lounges and spaces are available to go and find your preferred place to spend time or join an activity. I can't praise the set-up and staff enough.

I have been so impressed with the care my mother receives at this care home. The staff are always so kind and patient with the residents. They always have time to listen to any concerns we have. There are always activities going on, appropriate to the level of participation the residents can manage.

The place is always clean and smells nice.

By far the nicest care home that we visited before deciding on a place for my mum. The home is bright, clean and has energy that was missing elsewhere. My mother is very well looked after and has developed nice relationships with the staff. All requests have been promptly addressed by the managers. In the coming hear, I would like her to become more social with other residents and hope that the staff can encourage this. My only slight concern is that requested specific needs for my mum are not always followed.

My mother has been living at Lauriston for nearly a year, and I am constantly impressed by the quality of care which she receives from the care home staff. They are kind, respectful, sensitive and gentle as well as being competent and efficient. Staff often spot opportunities for being helpful, and take them. I was especially moved to hear one staff member singing gently to my mother as he helped her in the bathroom. These are wonderful, highly skilled, highly motivated workers.

My father has been in Lauriston since September 2024. The care has been amazing and in the past few weeks, he has deteriorated severely. The care, support and advice we have received has been of the highest standard and made this difficult time much more bearable than it might have been. I feel so lucky to have Dad living in this home now. The home has such a friendly atmosphere and the welcome we get each time we visit is lovely. Thank you all at Lauriston.

Dad has been in Lauriston Care Home since August 2024. I am very happy with the care he has received there. The staff are very friendly and kind and nothing is too much trouble. Office staff, management and laundry staff very helpful. Plus the team of nurses are very vigilant noting any issues and informing the family of any concerns.
The food is excellent with lots of choices.
There are various activities to join in with should you choose, such as painting or singing, quizzes and seasonal subjects like Remembrance Sunday are marked.
There's a nice big garden as well and Dad enjoyed sitting outside with his visitors. Often tea and cake were served as well which was a lovely touch.

I'm always pleased with the home when I visit, and I come away with a good warm feeling as I leave knowing my dad is being well cared for.

My mother has been living at Lauriston for over a year now and I am delighted with the care and attention she receives. She has dementia but is always treated with dignity and compassion. The staff are amazing and know her so well. They work hard to provide lots of activities and understand the individual needs of each resident. At the same time, I feel well-supported in this journey. No question is too small and queries have been dealt with promptly and efficiently. I feel very lucky to have such a wonderful place for my mother to live. Many thanks to you all.

My dad arrived in Lauriston in September 2024. From our initial visit, the home visit by Manager and Head Nurse to my dad's admission, I can only say they are outstanding on many levels. All staff are professional, kind, caring and very friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. When you walk in the atmosphere is warm and friendly. They are great communicators and joined up, from one staff member as the first point of contact to everyone. They keep us informed of any change regarding my dad, whether it is tests, meds or an everyday occurrence. My dad is happier than we could ever imagine which makes the transition for my mum easy. My dad is in a lovely, safe, caring home and we are very grateful. My family has nothing but praise for the sheer effort they take with caring and engaging with my dad. The rooms are clean, light, practical for ease of use, yet very homely. Their entire ethos is one of humanity and care. He is treated with respect and dignity. Am so happy he is there.

This is the fourth care home that we have used for Mum as her needs have changed and is by far the best. I finally feel like a daughter again and not a carer.
It feels like a proper family home, not an institution. The food is beautifully prepared and nourishing, and even though Mum's now has to be blended to meet her needs, it is appetising and beautifully presented.
The staff are all lovely and treat Mum with utmost respect and kindness. Her care needs are all met without my having to chase for things to be done or do them myself.
The management are readily available and approachable and I feel listened to as my ideas for Mum's care are taken on board.

I actually feel like part of the team!

Lovely care home, with excellent staff, nothing is too much trouble, can't fault them. Everywhere is clean and tidy and big efforts are made to celebrate occasions such as Christmas. There are some fantastic decorated trees in all areas and even a mini railway for the residents to watch circling one of the trees.

My friend for whom I help care came into respite for two weeks while I was away. At the time she was quite unwell and the staff were so patient in giving her time and helping her with anything she needed. After only a few days she was greatly better and wanted to stay. So much so that she is going into permanent care soon, at Lauriston we hope they have room! The commitment of everyone involved which included assisted baths and tempting food helped my friend and we both cannot thank everyone enough for the time spent there. I just wish every home I have seen over a number of years for different people was as good as this one. Thank you.
