My mother entered Sovereign Lodge for respite care. Since that date, she has been given excellent care. When a family is exhausted of trying to cope with their own lives, work, managing carers it was a relief to enter Sovereign Lodge.
Mum has settled well and hopefully finances and consent willing
we will be a continuing customer of Sovereign Lodge. Thank you.

I have nothing but praise for the care my mother is receiving at Sovereign Lodge, where she has been for 6 months. She is safe and well looked after. She is happy although she does get anxious from time to time. Every member of staff that I have met, including administrative staff, carers and nurses
and catering staff, has been cheerful, welcoming and responsive.


I had no difficulty choosing Sovereign Lodge because of the experience of seeing how my mother-in-law was treated when she was there.

My pal has been in the care home for a few months now and is having a whale of a time. Initially, she was unhappy to leave her family home but I am delighted to say that she is enjoying the company of other residents and the great care from the team. She enjoys the homely environment and the activities,
particularly the weekly live music sessions as she used to play in a band when she was young.

Staff always provide a warm welcome. They are always approachable if you have any concerns and matters are dealt with quickly. The rooms are always tidy and welcoming. The food is always excellent with good alternatives available if needed. The entertainment and activities programme is excellent and
varied with outdoors and trips out as well. My mum is very content here and is glad she has company and help when needed, especially at night.

My mother became a resident over a year ago after a difficult spell in hospital. Her care has been exemplary and has enabled the family to come to terms with her need for nursing care and has given us time to enjoy being with her knowing that when we leave she will be in safe, caring hands. She had

I live overseas so it is very important for me to know my mum is in good hands. I am very impressed with the facilities at Sovereign Lodge but the most important thing is the people who work here. Everyone is cheerful and caring and has helped Mum settle in quickly. They have also shown great care to
my dad who has found the transition to being at home on his own very difficult.

Staff are professional and also kind. When issues arise they deal with them without being defensive. They are well-trained and supportive of the resident's wider family, informing us about their condition and helping us to make decisions in our mother's best interests.

My wife has a problem with food and only takes soup, sometimes at that. She has supplements.


This link between the nurses and GP is good. My wife is now bedridden.

The immediate ambience was light and airy with a warm reception. The notice board was clear with pictorial information. The staff helpfully brought chairs for us to sit with the resident and offered us teas.
The lounge where she was sitting was not overcrowded with chairs - space for residents to wander.
The television was not overpowering - very homely. A peep at the dining room - very inviting - like a restaurant.
Our sister (closest relative of resident) very impressed by her time with the nurse/ responsible for the resident.

Enjoy the activities, Christmas Fair. The food is good. Laundry is good.
The hairdresser is very nice. Really good for family to come and visit and being able to have lunch together and our dog is allowed to visit.

It is a big adjustment for a resident to leave their own house and be in a nursing home, thus, we as a team help them feel welcomed and ensure a homely environment.

Before I came to Healthcare Homes I was an
administrator/receptionist for a different provider.
I think a person needs to be knowledgeable or must be willing to learn. You must be people orientated, know how to deal with different kinds of people in a friendly but professional manner. Must be well organised and know how to manage time. Stay calm.


The favourite part of my working day is being able to help out with the team. Completing tasks and being ready to accept more. Meeting new people.


The biggest professional challenge in my current role was moving from a corporate company where I had been for 5 years to a smaller but growing company. Luckily enough, after a few weeks of intensive training, I was able to adapt and settle quickly into my new home. Thanks to the most friendly and accommodating staff/residents and relatives of Sovereign Lodge and those at our operations office Apex.


My biggest career highlight to date? I am quite happy to see the progression of my career over the span of six years.


Qualities that make me stand out are;
A good home manager must have good leadership and at the same time be caring and have a passionate heart. Time management is also very important.


My interests outside of work are spending time with my little boy, playing in the sand or swimming together. I also like watching movies and shopping.

The favourite part of my working day is putting a smile on people’s faces and making a difference. Giving residents something to look forward to.
My biggest professional challenge in my current role is being diverse in the role and giving a wide variety in the activity schedule; keeping it fresh and exciting. I am undertaking a Health Care Practitioner trainee role which I am very excited about and looking forward to the outcome.
Although there have been many highlights during my time here, none more important than walking in to the lounge areas and seeing smiling, happy residents
