My mother moved into Sovereign Lodge Care Centre in February. The facilities are very good. The room is immaculate and food good. The staff are amazing, well organised, caring and professional. The care plan is regularly reviewed. Organised entertainment. Mum has dementia and all her care needs are
met.Above all, she is happy and well looked after.

Pleasant environment, on the whole, staff are friendly and welcoming. The activities are good, but maybe could be more low-key type activities on the 2nd floor for the more severely mentally ill residents. Possibly more residents could make use of the garden area in the summer months.

My mum has now been in Sovereign Lodge Care Centre for approximately three months. I am so very happy with the way she is looked after. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful with any problems which may occur. She loves her room which is kept beautifully clean and the home never smells, which
some homes do.
The entertainment there and the food is excellent there is always something for the residents to do.

The caring staff are very good dealing with dementia patients. The exception is dealing with Alzheimer's which requires variations from the norm. Theses demands are very challenging and do require even more specialised training.

My brother in law had 21 previous beds previous to Sovereign Lodge and you should be very proud of your excellent home and lovely care you provide. Your activities lady is a treasure and all staff offer me a grateful cup of tea. All staff are alert and caring whatever time of the day.
Nurses are special
and nothing is too much trouble to the management.
My brother in law seems very relaxed.

My mother came to Sovereign Lodge Care Centre in February after breaking her hip and staying in the hospital for six weeks. Sovereign Lodge Care Centre is a lovely place, mum loved her room and the staff are excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. She was only there for two weeks but I would not hesitate
in sending her back if needed for respite. The food and entertainment were all first class.

I visit my husband at Sovereign Lodge Care Centre several times each week and I am there for lunchtime and see the food on offer and always found it to be good. The staff have always been very friendly and helpful. At times I have felt the care has been extended to me also.

My review, when I first came to Sovereign Lodge, I was bruised, broken and battered emotionally and physically. Gradually with the standard of love and care I received and the unconditional love and kindness that I received I became a much happier and contented resident. I have my love of arts and crafts,
poetry and literature and reading and writing and music back in my life. I am able to enjoy the scheduled activities and I have the freedom to enjoy going out to my three "therapy groups" each week. Thank you Sovereign Lodge and the staff members who put me back together again, I now love it.

When my husband first arrived, several staff members, including the director, were on hand to greet and welcome him. His care at Sovereign Lodge has been very professional and very good.
The nurses are excellent and always right on the spot when needed. The staff have an extremely caring attitude.
No problem is too much for them. My husband feels at home here and so do I. Sovereign Lodge is an all around lovely caring place.

I have been visiting my stepmother almost daily for nearly three years at Sovereign Lodge and have nothing but praise for the staff in the way she is cared for and the friendly reception that I receive. The premises are comfortable and clean and the bedrooms are the same. I usually attend at breakfast
time but sometimes at lunch time and the food always appears to be of excellent quality, in any case my stepmother thoroughly enjoys it.


On the rare occasion when I have reported to the staff that my stepmother appears unwell action is taken by the staff immediately and she is seen by a nurse straight away and a doctor quickly if required.


I can't imagine my stepmother anywhere other than Sovereign Lodge and I have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone looking for a Care Home.

I am passionate about delivering person-centred care to our residents and maintaining their independence as much as possible. It is a big adjustment for a resident to leave their own house and be in a nursing home, thus, we as a team help them feel welcomed and ensure a homely environment.

Before I came to Healthcare Homes I was an
administrator/receptionist for a different provider.
I think a person needs to be knowledgeable or must be willing to learn. You must be people orientated, know how to deal with different kinds of people in a friendly but professional manner. Must be well organised and know how to manage time. Stay calm.


The favourite part of my working day is being able to help out with the team. Completing tasks and being ready to accept more. Meeting new people.


The biggest professional challenge in my current role was moving from a corporate company where I had been for 5 years to a smaller but growing company. Luckily enough, after a few weeks of intensive training, I was able to adapt and settle quickly into my new home. Thanks to the most friendly and accommodating staff/residents and relatives of Sovereign Lodge and those at our operations office Apex.


My biggest career highlight to date? I am quite happy to see the progression of my career over the span of six years.


Qualities that make me stand out are;
A good home manager must have good leadership and at the same time be caring and have a passionate heart. Time management is also very important.


My interests outside of work are spending time with my little boy, playing in the sand or swimming together. I also like watching movies and shopping.

Before joining Healthcare Homes I was a landlady at a local public house. I had always worked in the service industry.
To be good in my role I need to be bubbly, outgoing, motivated and confident. Being able to work as part of a team or take a lead role if necessary. Energetic, enthusiastic and loving the job of making people happy.
The favourite part of my working day is putting a smile on people’s faces and making a difference. Giving residents something to look forward to.
My biggest professional challenge in my current role is being diverse in the role and giving a wide variety in the activity schedule; keeping it fresh and exciting. I am undertaking a Health Care Practitioner trainee role which I am very excited about and looking forward to the outcome.
Although there have been many highlights during my time here, none more important than walking in to the lounge areas and seeing smiling, happy residents
