My husband has been a resident at Sovereign Lodge for over a year and I get great comfort from knowing he is extremely well cared for by excellent staff who always have time for him and me. He particularly enjoys the variety of great food. The management team are very welcoming and there is always something interesting arranged for the residents. We both enjoyed the Easter fete.

My mother was at Sovereign Lodge for six months and we have nothing but praise for all the staff.
Friendly, welcoming, helpful, kind and considerate.
The last week of mum's life was obviously hard for the family but we had lots of care and support from all the staff.

They kept us well informed.

What a lovely home, so glad my dad was lucky enough to be able to live at Sovereign Lodge.

I work in a care home and have worked in care for 15 years. I know what I wanted for my dad and Sovereign Lodge ticks all the boxes.

A most welcoming, well-sustained care home. Close liaison between staff and myself over all care issues for the resident. Nothing is too much trouble and everyone is extremely caring, thoughtful and very helpful.

I was greeted by the manager who came out to undertake the assessment. Approachable manager and despite the fact that my Mother-in-law has a diagnosis of Dementia and expressive dysphasia, she included her in discussions, taking on board my assertion of her good understanding despite limited speech. Greeted by welcoming staff / secure but not intimidating entry system. The manager's relationship with staff -clearly one of mutual respect. Staff were person-centred and attentive to residents. Communication was good between ourselves and the home and responsive to residents. Social activities varied and coordinators were engaging. My Mother-in-laws consent sort when necessary /staff respected her dignity. Clean, well maintained, residents encouraged to eat at tables support provided. Rooms spacious, clean, containing appropriate furniture. Staff could support with day centres to ensure routines maintained. I struggle to think of improvements necessary but perhaps the ability to book respite in advance. Thank you all so much.

Thank you so much for the feedback on the home and so lovely to get such detail, I have shared this in my daily meeting with the staff and gave a copy to the floor your mother-in-law was on during her stay with us. We look forward to working with you in the future and do call into our planned days with activities any time.

My brother, sister and myself were extremely happy with the care that both our parents had in Sovereign Lodge. We were always made welcome and the staff couldn't do enough for our parents. My father at first was in the residential rooms and was very happy. We have recommended this home to several of our friends who have used it.

From the moment we walked into Sovereign Lodge to look around (without an appointment) until the day we walked out after she had passed away (1 month), every member of staff we dealt with were kind, compassionate and caring. Even though mum was quite poorly when she went into Sovereign lodge, the staff went out of the way to include her in activities. The nursing care which she required was excellent and so very caring. Not only did they care for mum but the staff were so kind to my Dad when he was visiting mum. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the staff to do. Thank you for making mum's last few weeks as good as they could be.

My husband had advanced Alzheimers Disease and I chose Sovereign Lodge very carefully for its care and security. The staff show incredible care and patience, often in very testing circumstances. The home is bright and clean and the staff are very cheery. The activities are varied and good, as is the food which is plentiful.

My husband died recently and the palliative care was second to none. The kindness and thoughtfulness of the staff is something I'll never forget. For a person with dementia, I can think of no better care home than Sovereign Lodge.

My partner's mother entered the home under very difficult circumstances following a protracted stay in hospital. The manager assisted greatly in helping us through the mire that is the care system and I can't thank her enough for that.

The home displays a very caring culture, both in respect of the residents and relatives. The staff are both professional and caring and the cleanliness cannot be faulted. The activity programme appears regular and varied although my relative has not been well enough to enjoy much of this to date so I can't give first-hand evidence of this!

From the manager to reception, to nursing staff and HCA's, I can't fault this lovely team. Everyone my family came in to contact with was professional, honest and caring. The rooms were clean and more like hotel rooms, beautiful, we couldn't have found a better place for my mum to be cared by. We were all made to feel like it was home, which was very important to us as a family.

My mother was very poorly when she went into Sovereign Lodge after being in hospital for 2 months. The manager and her team have been so kind and caring towards her and always willing to go the extra mile. Mum is now recovering and each time I visit she looks well cared for and the staff all take interest in her. She has a lovely room overlooking the garden and we have been able to personalise it to make it feel more homely.

The staff are all very attentive, friendly and pleasant to deal with and always willing to spend time with mum and her care needs. Everyone is treated with respect and encouraged to take part in the activities, of which there are plenty, with the enthusiastic team. The nursing staff are very helpful and knowledgeable which gives you a lot of confidence in the care received.

Thank you so much for the positive words of your experience of the home since Mum arrived. Your Mum has one of the most beautifully personalised bedrooms in the home and that is down to you. Margaret CoscolluelaJob Title:Home Manager

Our day-to-day can be challenging, but it requires commitment, motivation, and skills to make a vision into reality. I am passionate about delivering person-centred care to our residents and maintaining their independence as much as possible. It is a big adjustment for a resident to leave their own house and be in a nursing home, thus, we as a team help them feel welcomed and ensure a homely environment.

The best part of my working day is knowing that I have made a difference in someone's life and have helped them through a difficult situation. Knowing that a resident is satisfied with the care we provide is the greatest achievement for me at the end of the day."

I wished to be part of this growing company and be able to contribute my knowledge and skills, at the same time learning and growing with the company.

Before I came to Healthcare Homes I was an
administrator/receptionist for a different provider.

I think a person needs to be knowledgeable or must be willing to learn. You must be people orientated, know how to deal with different kinds of people in a friendly but professional manner. Must be well organised and know how to manage time. Stay calm.

The favourite part of my working day is being able to help out with the team. Completing tasks and being ready to accept more. Meeting new people.

The biggest professional challenge in my current role was moving from a corporate company where I had been for 5 years to a smaller but growing company. Luckily enough, after a few weeks of intensive training, I was able to adapt and settle quickly into my new home. Thanks to the most friendly and accommodating staff/residents and relatives of Sovereign Lodge and those at our operations office Apex.

My biggest career highlight to date? I am quite happy to see the progression of my career over the span of six years.

Qualities that make me stand out are;

A good home manager must have good leadership and at the same time be caring and have a passionate heart. Time management is also very important.

My interests outside of work are spending time with my little boy, playing in the sand or swimming together. I also like watching movies and shopping.

I look forward to working with my colleagues who are a bunch of happy and energetic people. Meeting and greeting residents and relatives. Being productive at work – being able to accomplish all tasks given

Sovereign Lodge has a very good name in the local community and I wished to have a more fulfilling job role
Before joining Healthcare Homes I was a landlady at a local public house. I had always worked in the service industry.
To be good in my role I need to be bubbly, outgoing, motivated and confident. Being able to work as part of a team or take a lead role if necessary. Energetic, enthusiastic and loving the job of making people happy.
The favourite part of my working day is putting a smile on people’s faces and making a difference. Giving residents something to look forward to.
My biggest professional challenge in my current role is being diverse in the role and giving a wide variety in the activity schedule; keeping it fresh and exciting. I am undertaking a Health Care Practitioner trainee role which I am very excited about and looking forward to the outcome.
Although there have been many highlights during my time here, none more important than walking in to the lounge areas and seeing smiling, happy residents
The qualities I have to make me stand out are good leadership qualities, being able to communicate freely with staff. Good problem solving skills

Outside of work I like spending time with my family, dining out, walking and enjoying the fresh air with loved ones, watching movies and shopping

The relationships I have formed with my colleagues and residents; it’s not just a job to me. I can honestly say in my time working here, this is my family as well as my friends
