From the moment we walked into Sovereign Lodge to look around (without an appointment) until the day we walked out after she had passed away (1 month), every member of staff we dealt with were kind, compassionate and caring. Even though mum was quite poorly when she went into Sovereign lodge, the staff
went out of the way to include her in activities. The nursing care which she required was excellent and so very caring. Not only did they care for mum but the staff were so kind to my Dad when he was visiting mum. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the staff to do. Thank you for making mum's last few weeks as good as they could be.

I can honestly say it is one of the best homes in Eastbourne and the management and staff are so caring, polite and helpful at all times.

My husband had advanced Alzheimers Disease and I chose Sovereign Lodge very carefully for its care and security. The staff show incredible care and patience, often in very testing circumstances. The home is bright and clean and the staff are very cheery. The activities are varied and good, as is the
food which is plentiful.
My husband died recently and the palliative care was second to none. The kindness and thoughtfulness of the staff is something I'll never forget. For a person with dementia, I can think of no better care home than Sovereign Lodge.

My mum arrived at Sovereign Lodge Care Centre this month to a very warm welcome from staff. Her room was already clean and bright. All areas looked cosy and decorated with Christmas trees and decorations with carols playing. I think mum is going to be happy here.

My partner's mother entered the home under very difficult circumstances following a protracted stay in hospital. The manager assisted greatly in helping us through the mire that is the care system and I can't thank her enough for that.
The home displays a very caring culture, both in respect of the
residents and relatives. The staff are both professional and caring and the cleanliness cannot be faulted. The activity programme appears regular and varied although my relative has not been well enough to enjoy much of this to date so I can't give first-hand evidence of this!

From the manager to reception, to nursing staff and HCA's, I can't fault this lovely team. Everyone my family came in to contact with was professional, honest and caring. The rooms were clean and more like hotel rooms, beautiful, we couldn't have found a better place for my mum to be cared by. We were
all made to feel like it was home, which was very important to us as a family.

My mother was very poorly when she went into Sovereign Lodge after being in hospital for 2 months. The manager and her team have been so kind and caring towards her and always willing to go the extra mile. Mum is now recovering and each time I visit she looks well cared for and the staff all take interest
in her. She has a lovely room overlooking the garden and we have been able to personalise it to make it feel more homely.
The staff are all very attentive, friendly and pleasant to deal with and always willing to spend time with mum and her care needs. Everyone is treated with respect and encouraged to take part in the activities, of which there are plenty, with the enthusiastic team. The nursing staff are very helpful and knowledgeable which gives you a lot of confidence in the care received.

The facilities and staff are brilliant at Sovereign Lodge Care Centre, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Since my gran has been here she has been cared for amazingly. My gran is always smiling and having a fun time with the various activities there when we visit. Even though she can’t be at home
with us, she is in a safe and loving environment suited to her individual needs. Thank you.

This care centre was amazing, as a family, we were always welcomed with a smile which is so refreshing. My Mother in law could not have been looked after any better, she was always clean and ready for the day, everybody at the home was very caring, attentive and friendly. There was plenty of laughter
and happiness, it genuinely has a lovely atmosphere and I would highly recommend it.

I cannot thank the staff at Sovereign Lodge Care Centre enough for all their care, support and professionalism.
The manager and her team have welcomed my mother and us as a family with open arms. They have been so helpful and understanding to all of us. Nothing is too much trouble.

Both our parents moved to Sovereign Lodge in 2016. Our Dad received excellent care in his final days with one of the staff even accompanying him to hospital appointments when we couldn't be with him. The whole team were wonderfully supportive to us as a family when he died. Our Mum still lives at Sovereign
Lodge and we are comforted to see her care being adapted to her changing needs. The team is very welcoming to us all and very responsive to any of our requests. We cannot imagine our Mum anywhere else.

The brunch to meet the new manager was an excellent idea. I feel sure everyone who attended benefitted from this opportunity. I am looking forward to the next few months to see suitable changes that may be made. Most importantly, the residents do not appear to have experienced any inconvenience or anxiety
during the changeover period.

As a family we were having great difficulty in finding a Coastal care home for a weekend respite who could meet the needs for my Sister, this was until we stumbled upon Sovereign Lodge, the manager went over and above our expectations when it came to organising and reassuring us that plans would be
put in place for a smooth and stress free respite break. The level of care, respect and dignity which was shown to my sister throughout her stay was faultless/ excellent, the staff team that we encountered during the weekend appeared to be hard working, dedicated and genuinely happy to be working as caregivers within this establishment. My sister was quite emotional on her journey back to Hertfordshire and said that she would miss the lovely staff and residents that she had grown close to during her short stay. Thank you once again to the manager and the team for all the loving care you showed us.

I am very satisfied with the way in which my Father is looked after. The staff appear to deal with him very well. The food also seems very good and it is very convenient that when we visit that we are allowed to go and make coffee for us and my father.

My first visit to see my mother in law and the environment is very friendly and warm. I can see she is very well looked after.

It is a big adjustment for a resident to leave their own house and be in a nursing home, thus, we as a team help them feel welcomed and ensure a homely environment.

I wished to be part of this growing company and be able to contribute my knowledge and skills, at the same time learning and growing with the company.


Before I came to Healthcare Homes I was an
administrator/receptionist for a different provider.
I think a person needs to be knowledgeable or must be willing to learn. You must be people orientated, know how to deal with different kinds of people in a friendly but professional manner. Must be well organised and know how to manage time. Stay calm.


The favourite part of my working day is being able to help out with the team. Completing tasks and being ready to accept more. Meeting new people.


The biggest professional challenge in my current role was moving from a corporate company where I had been for 5 years to a smaller but growing company. Luckily enough, after a few weeks of intensive training, I was able to adapt and settle quickly into my new home. Thanks to the most friendly and accommodating staff/residents and relatives of Sovereign Lodge and those at our operations office Apex.


My biggest career highlight to date? I am quite happy to see the progression of my career over the span of six years.


Qualities that make me stand out are;
A good home manager must have good leadership and at the same time be caring and have a passionate heart. Time management is also very important.


My interests outside of work are spending time with my little boy, playing in the sand or swimming together. I also like watching movies and shopping.

Sovereign Lodge has a very good name in the local community and I wished to have a more fulfilling job role
Before joining Healthcare Homes I was a landlady at a local public house. I had always worked in the service industry.
To be good in my role I need to be bubbly, outgoing, motivated and confident. Being able to work as part of a team or take a lead role if necessary. Energetic, enthusiastic and loving the job of making people happy.
The favourite part of my working day is putting a smile on people’s faces and making a difference. Giving residents something to look forward to.
My biggest professional challenge in my current role is being diverse in the role and giving a wide variety in the activity schedule; keeping it fresh and exciting. I am undertaking a Health Care Practitioner trainee role which I am very excited about and looking forward to the outcome.
Although there have been many highlights during my time here, none more important than walking in to the lounge areas and seeing smiling, happy residents
The qualities I have to make me stand out are good leadership qualities, being able to communicate freely with staff. Good problem solving skills
Outside of work I like spending time with my family, dining out, walking and enjoying the fresh air with loved ones, watching movies and shopping
