My partner has been in Sovereign Lodge for 6 months now. He is blind and paralysed so cannot move at all without help. All his personal care is done by carers, always kindly and with dignity. I visit daily and have myself been treated well. He and his room etc are always clean.

I am blind and paralysed so cannot see or move and rely on staff for personal care, this is always there. Regular tea, soft drinks etc the food is good. I have to use a spoon in my left hand, so need food cut up for me, this is kindly done.

My stepmother came to Sovereign Lodge straight from the hospital. Although she was close to the end she was treated wonderfully by the staff and I believe passed without pain and with dignity. Thank you so much.

My father was placed in the care of Sovereign Lodge, his care was beyond kindness, compassion and a true home from home. My father sadly passed away on 23 June 2019. The complete experience of the care centre was fantastic from my mother arriving, to her passing away. The facility, staff and support were excellent in the short time she was there. Even after her death, the staff could not be more helpful and sympathetic.

Although my mother was only at Sovereign Lodge for a short period, I feel she was treated with love and dignity during her stay there. When she eventually passed away the staff and management were sympathetic and caring and were extremely helpful in dealing with the administrative details on my behalf.

The care from the staff at Sovereign Lodge was extremely good. Always greeted us with a smile and were always helpful. Mum was always happy and looked after very well. They encouraged mum to make more friends and had plenty of activities to keep mum occupied and entertained.

He particularly enjoys the variety of great food. The management team are very welcoming and there is always something

My mother was at Sovereign Lodge for six months and we have nothing but praise for all the staff.
Friendly, welcoming, helpful, kind and considerate.
The last week of mum's life was obviously hard for the family but we had lots of care and support from all the staff.
They kept us well informed.

I was greeted by the manager who came out to undertake the assessment. Approachable manager and despite the fact that my Mother-in-law has a diagnosis of Dementia and expressive dysphasia, she included her in discussions, taking on board my assertion of her good understanding despite limited speech.
Greeted by welcoming staff / secure but not intimidating entry system. The manager's relationship with staff -clearly one of mutual respect. Staff were person-centred and attentive to residents. Communication was good between ourselves and the home and responsive to residents. Social activities varied and coordinators were engaging. My Mother-in-laws consent sort when necessary /staff respected her dignity. Clean, well maintained, residents encouraged to eat at tables support provided. Rooms spacious, clean, containing appropriate furniture. Staff could support with day centres to ensure routines maintained. I struggle to think of improvements necessary but perhaps the ability to book respite in advance. Thank you all so much.

Every time I walked into Sovereign Lodge I was greeted warmly by all the staff. Most days you could hear the residents laughing. A very happy and caring place to be.

I am passionate about delivering person-centred care to our residents and maintaining their independence as much as possible. The biggest professional challenge in my current role was moving from a corporate company where I had been for 5 years to a smaller but growing company. Thanks to the most friendly and accommodating staff/residents and relatives of Sovereign Lodge and those at our operations office Apex.


My biggest career highlight to date? I am quite happy to see the progression of my career over the span of six years.


Qualities that make me stand out are;
A good home manager must have good leadership and at the same time be caring and have a passionate heart. Time management is also very important.


My interests outside of work are spending time with my little boy, playing in the sand or swimming together. I also like watching movies and shopping.

Sovereign Lodge has a very good name in the local community and I wished to have a more fulfilling job role
Before joining Healthcare Homes I was a landlady at a local public house. I had always worked in the service industry.
To be good in my role I need to be bubbly, outgoing, motivated and confident. Being able to work as part of a team or take a lead role if necessary. Energetic, enthusiastic and loving the job of making people happy.
The favourite part of my working day is putting a smile on people’s faces and making a difference. Giving residents something to look forward to.
My biggest professional challenge in my current role is being diverse in the role and giving a wide variety in the activity schedule; keeping it fresh and exciting. I am undertaking a Health Care Practitioner trainee role which I am very excited about and looking forward to the outcome.
Although there have been many highlights during my time here, none more important than walking in to the lounge areas and seeing smiling, happy residents
The qualities I have to make me stand out are good leadership qualities, being able to communicate freely with staff. Good problem solving skills
Outside of work I like spending time with my family, dining out, walking and enjoying the fresh air with loved ones, watching movies and shopping


The relationships I have formed with my colleagues and residents; it’s not just a job to me. I can honestly say in my time working here, this is my family as well as my friends
