All staff have been very caring for Mum; she is very happy here and settled. Staff and the manager are always very nice and smiling and always happy to help with telephone and video calls. I would really recommend this home. Thank you to the staff and manager; they do a great job.

The manager and the team have been coping admirably during this extremely difficult time. The provision of the garden hub to ensure that even when social distance has to be observed, and inclement weather, is with us, visits to loved ones are still able to be carried out.

Sovereign Lodge and its excellent staff have provided a first-rate home for my mother over the last 15 months. The staff are always approachable, smiling and ready to listen and help with any requests. My mum has been looked after excellently and I am glad we found this home for her.

Excellent care received by my Mother in Law. Staff was always helpful and very thoughtful. No matter when I or any family members contacted by phone there was always a polite and efficient staff member who was only too pleased to help. I would recommend Sovereign Lodge as a lovely care facility for
any member of my family who needed care. Lovely room and facilities and they treated my Mother in Law with dignity and kindness and were with her when she sadly passed away, which made us as a family very grateful.

Pleased we chose this home for Mum 6 months ago. It has lived up to our hopes and expectations. Mum has dementia so not easy for her or the staff but Mum is more settled now.
Sovereign Lodge is modern with good sized en-suite rooms/social areas for residents. Staff are busy but attentive to residents
and instil a cheerful atmosphere. Activities are provided every day for residents to enjoy. Good food with choices. Nursing staff on site.
Management are professional and caring, providing support and maintain good morale with staff and residents; including giving us time to ask questions etc.
The staff are very caring and compassionate with our Mum.
Management and staff team give us feedback and updates on Mum, which we value very much.
The Manager with her nursing and care staff responded quickly to the tragic Covid-19 pandemic showing that good nursing and care protocols are embedded in the team, despite very challenging times. In summary, expensive but safe and high-quality care is provided.

My mum was in Sovereign Lodge for about 4 months. The transition from hospital was seamless. The Manager was very approachable and totally "got" my mum within a few days of her stay there. The nursing staff were all very caring, and the majority of care assistants were very good at their jobs. It
was a welcoming place, friendly and supportive to both resident and family members. When my mum deteriorated, all the staff showed great compassion and empathy at all times. In her last few days, they couldn't have done enough for her. They were attentive, caring and truly engaged at what they had to do. They always told me the truth about my mum's actions and needs.

My mother in law was in Sovereign Lodge for around 4 months. All the staff treated her with dignity, respect and empathy. The Manager was great and really put my wife's mind at ease about her mum. They always did the best for her. The nursing staff were all very friendly and very capable and remained
calm. If my mum or dad needed care I would certainly look here first.

The Manager and her team run Sovereign Lodge like a 5-star hotel rather than a Nursing Care Home. Always a warm welcome, from front of house to the teams working on all floors. Great activities organised on a weekly basis for all the residents to take part and family encouraged to join in as well!
My
Mum received the best care from all the staff and nothing was too much trouble when she became a resident there. A very daunting time for both of us, but the staff were a great support to me and my Mum.

It's a fantastic care home in all aspects. They really look after my dad. Staff are very friendly and do what they can for the residents. Upon my visits to the home over the last 18 months the staff are like clock-work working all the time.

My mother-in-law got Covid-19 and with the help of the staff and management helped her overcome the virus and return to good health. Since she has been living at Sovereign Lodge (December 2018) the staff and management have done their utmost to provide her with a safe and well cared for environment,
she didn't want to go into a care home but due to underlying health issues there were no other options, she tells us that she is very happy in Sovereign Lodge and considers it to now be her home.
Both my husband and myself consider the Sovereign Lodge Manager to be a friend now rather than a service provider, I cannot recommend Sovereign Lodge highly enough.

My relative came from another care home where she was disruptive and unhappy to a place where her dementia was understood and managed. The team at Sovereign Lodge are welcoming and friendly as well as having good clinical skills and compassion.
The necessary changes in medications make a dramatic improvement
in her behaviour and mood which led to more smiles and laughter. I always felt involved in decision making and the only time there was an issue it was dealt with in a timely effective manner.

Well. What A Team! From day one of preliminary talks with the Manager of Sovereign Lodge, I could tell she would do everything possible to meet the needs of a very dear friend.
I am LPA to a very dear lady of 72 years of age who sadly had both legs amputated at the start of 2020. This unexpected situation
along with the angst and turmoil was incredibly hard to deal with. Such a negative, overnight life-changing outcome seemed impossible to make into a positive.
The Manager showed empathy and compassion and helped me through a very tricky time. Being responsible for choosing where someone should live, who is not your blood relative, comes with many barriers. Help from Sovereign Lodge gave me the confidence and belief that everything would be okay and my friend's future would be as bright and colourful as she is herself.
Every visit to Sovereign Lodge has been informative and welcoming by all the staff.

Our day-to-day can be challenging, but it requires commitment, motivation, and skills to make a vision into reality. I am passionate about delivering person-centred care to our residents and maintaining their independence as much as possible. It is a big adjustment for a resident to leave their own house and be in a nursing home, thus, we as a team help them feel welcomed and ensure a homely environment.


The best part of my working day is knowing that I have made a difference in someone's life and have helped them through a difficult situation. Knowing that a resident is satisfied with the care we provide is the greatest achievement for me at the end of the day."

I wished to be part of this growing company and be able to contribute my knowledge and skills, at the same time learning and growing with the company.


Before I came to Healthcare Homes I was an
administrator/receptionist for a different provider.
I think a person needs to be knowledgeable or must be willing to learn. You must be people orientated, know how to deal with different kinds of people in a friendly but professional manner. Must be well organised and know how to manage time. Stay calm.


The favourite part of my working day is being able to help out with the team. Completing tasks and being ready to accept more. Meeting new people.


The biggest professional challenge in my current role was moving from a corporate company where I had been for 5 years to a smaller but growing company. Luckily enough, after a few weeks of intensive training, I was able to adapt and settle quickly into my new home. Thanks to the most friendly and accommodating staff/residents and relatives of Sovereign Lodge and those at our operations office Apex.


My biggest career highlight to date? I am quite happy to see the progression of my career over the span of six years.


Qualities that make me stand out are;
A good home manager must have good leadership and at the same time be caring and have a passionate heart. Time management is also very important.


My interests outside of work are spending time with my little boy, playing in the sand or swimming together. I also like watching movies and shopping.

Sovereign Lodge has a very good name in the local community and I wished to have a more fulfilling job role
Before joining Healthcare Homes I was a landlady at a local public house. I had always worked in the service industry.
To be good in my role I need to be bubbly, outgoing, motivated and confident. Being able to work as part of a team or take a lead role if necessary. Energetic, enthusiastic and loving the job of making people happy.
The favourite part of my working day is putting a smile on people’s faces and making a difference. Giving residents something to look forward to.
My biggest professional challenge in my current role is being diverse in the role and giving a wide variety in the activity schedule; keeping it fresh and exciting. I am undertaking a Health Care Practitioner trainee role which I am very excited about and looking forward to the outcome.
Although there have been many highlights during my time here, none more important than walking in to the lounge areas and seeing smiling, happy residents
The qualities I have to make me stand out are good leadership qualities, being able to communicate freely with staff. Good problem solving skills
Outside of work I like spending time with my family, dining out, walking and enjoying the fresh air with loved ones, watching movies and shopping


The relationships I have formed with my colleagues and residents; it’s not just a job to me. I can honestly say in my time working here, this is my family as well as my friends
